dude you can do so much more with that turbo. raise the boost, get some bigger injectors, and some unitronic software nd i promise that you can hit over 400.

I'm lookin at buying an '01 A4 1.8t with 115k miles on it for $4,800. Are these cars really tempermental? I heard that audi's were really unreliable until like '04, but all the other cars that are in my price range aren't nearly as clean as these A4's.

@snowmobile2day you do realize that the S60R has a SINGLE turbo with TWIN INTERCOOLERS right? and no, unless you are running a stage 3+ kit on your a4 you did not beat a s60

@metallicafn the ko4 is a bitch upgrade. Everybody thinks its a crazy turbo and doesent realize its not that much of an upgrade especially for $700. you take a stage 2+ b6 a4 and run it up against a stock ko4 a4 and the 2+ will easily win...garret turbos are where the power is.

@metallicafn you proved your point tho...a volvo is nothing..who gets a volvo because its a sports car? Go up against a true sports car. To be honest modded a 1.8t isant worth it that much...at the end of the day its a 1.8 liter without a superlight chassis. If you want to mod a car just get the s4 and save yourself some money and get a lot more power. You will spend so much money piecing your car togeather than to just get a stage 2 b5 s4 and not have to do all of that.

or just buy an a4 which is the same chassis (in the same time way cheaper), buy the k04 turbo and map the engine, then you have 240+ BHP

@RizBurnin who only wants 240whp? its not that much, especially in a car that weighs 3500lbs. The b5 s4 weighs 3300lbs with a bigger engine and twin turbos...not to mention the b5 handles way way better than the b6. If you just want a car thats fast and cheap...get a 240sx, once its stripped it weighs 2500lbs, find some used parts which there are a ton of ($100 TBE i've found on craigslist thats name brand) and easily make ~400whp

you can chip your ecu and unleash more power from your k03 but you will not get close to 345hp and a stock a4 can boost 21 pounds with apr software but will hold at around 18 lbs

Why is it you shouldn't run open-element BOV's? Why does everybody say to go with a looped system?

Because if you run BOV it wil make your our cars tun rich. so thats these cars need a DV (diverter valve) or use a BOV with the recerculation kit.

On a MAF car you have to recirculate because it will throw off your readings as per the comment by pipe7248. On a MAP system, which this one is on the TEC 3 management, you can go to atmosphere.
