  • Kissybone2001, I know that a lot of doctors would say that fasting is bad for you, but a lot of doctors will say it's good for you. I wouldn't recommend water fasting, but juice fasting has been known to cure diseases when done for a long period of time and under doctor supervision. A's long a's you have a doctor supervising your electrolytes and kidney function there's no real danger.     My first water fast I did 6 months ago, lost 20 pounds (150 to 130lbs). I have maintained my weight for almost 6 months now on a rawish diet. My fast lasted 14 days and after the fast I spend 14 days on liquid, VERY slowly easing myself onto food. Currently I am 134 because of my sweet tooth but I was determined to never go back and I didnt. It takes ALOT of will power and control and I think anyone can do it!!!\

  • People! In this culture we are brainwashed to think that if we go 4 hours without food we are "starving." Starving and fasting are NOT the same thing. People have been fasting for millenia because of its therapeutic value.

  • @oakioaks great question! i think that as long it was just leafy greens and maybe cucumber, it should be fine. No nuts, no dressing, just the leaves should be great.

  • If something is not accepted by our culture it is not flawed; it means absolutely nothing. This is something that people have done for thousands of years and *most* people do not do it to lose weight. Many people, like myself, fast for spiritual reasons or for cleansing purposes. It may not be for you; your trainer and doctor display ethnocentrism & come from the perspective of western medicine. Most people think the ways and beliefs of others are "nuts" or "strange" or "unhealthy." Not true.

  • RawRadiantHealth if you don't know what you doing don't post these videos. Your idea can lead to constant obsession with weight loss, eventually leading to anorexia. There was an idiot who posted a similar video, I have been there and I gained it all back with 15KG more in 3 weeks.

    Due to the setback I gained an obsession with crash diet, making me go against my family. I have lost a lot of my hair, however now I have recovered and lost the weight properly, Ask me for help for proper advice.

  • First thing, weight loss can't happen over night. Another thing water or any form of fasting to lose weight is WRONG! You must eat at least 2-3 times a day, with a lot of water.

    @RawRadiantHealth, being on water is not "Fasting" it is crash diet. As far as eating less and chewing your food to recover the diet, it won't work. You think people are going to maintain this eating less and chewing food idea? Stop talking crap!

  • if u think salt is good for you, take a tablespoon(or your daily intake) and take it on your tongue for 30 seconds. i do not believe that you think salt is good for you after you did that.

  • haha sorry about the bad news but even if u drink just water u wont be able to loose more than 250g fat a day because a pound of fat provides 3500 kcal. so if u loose 500g or 1000g that means u re loosing excess water. if u start eating any salt again u will gain the water back. theres no way around that, the body needs the water to dilute the salt, otherwise u would have severe damage from the salt intake.
