i don't know what u can actually get from such a small and amateur trap, u didn't show anything about masking o smell which is basics to know when building anything in the forest, yo
brilliant!!! used the same concept for catching birds when i was younger, only i used a wash basin so not to kill them.
But the way things are these days.... i could use it again to save money on chicken.... like i mean 4 or 5 crows would have a nice bit of meat on them :)
My name is Monsan from Thailand. I really like being outdoor even though I have not got much chances. I like your survival techniques very much. They are very helpful.
And your video is also good in youtube because its sound so loud and clear (unlike ray mears and bear grylls) Really nice things you do here.
maybe if we use a bigger rock we can catch a moose lol but seriously, great vid but this is the first one of yours that has bad sound quality, keep posting
Thanks... I will make another video at some point with some improvements... if you check out our website, there is a detailed article that shows all of the trap components up close... I hopes this helps and thanks again for the suggestion!
Actually the intention of the trap is to collect food when you are not around so that you can focus on other priorities in survival...one would typically set 15-30 similar traps by traveling a route that takes you far away from your survival camp. You would walk this "trap line" once per day to collect any kills, reset traps, or relocate them if need be.
Thanks for the video! and to anyone commenting that it may not be an effective way to trap a large animal, this is a demonstration! you can use bigger rocks if you have to :]
Thanks for the comment... it is actually a pretty typical size trap for squirrel, rabbit, rats etc... They can be made much larger for but I have not yet experiemented with such a trap.
I think it should be bigger to ensure a clean kill. With a rock that size you would only hold the animal in place while it slowly suffocates and possibly makes enough noise to attract predators to steal your kill.
I've seen that done with boxes but not a heavy rock.

the figure four trap is very easy to set up compared to a deadfall trap, however it takes at least 10 times longer to make an effective one

Why don't you just shoot the animal? I mean you do have a gun right? Possess gun is survival rule #1. #2 is have plenty of ammo.
