Doesn't work for me like that. The best way I have found to carry a larger weapon concealed is with a nice leather vest ( Nothing biker like, just a dressy or western like ) Something light enough to be worn in the summer without killing you. It's firm against my belly, but the weapon sits closer to the chest area where the vest is not tight and it hides very well buttoned or un buttoned depending of if the handle sticks up out of the pocket.
my friend asked me about retention on my iwb holster. I explained that it was equipped with the FRD system. it uses processed cheese and donut cream to keep the gun locked up. [flab retention device]
Hello, have you tried thunderwear or any of the other deep concealment holsters designed to wear under your belly and on top of your junk? That might keep the weapon off your gut and make it more comfortable. I am a big guy and used to carry full size but got tired of that real fast and went to a glock 27, cargo pocket holsters and undertech shirt holsters are great comfort options for us big bears. Check it out, you might like it.
fello fat guy here! Carry my Kimber CDP in the same place--IWB custom made holster. I'll shift it around depending on sitting or walking around. Sometimes if its too far back the grip will print, so thats what I always look for to know its concealed. I wear a Wilderness Tactical 1.5" nylon belt--keeps my pants and the gun in place perfect!
Why would anyone think that getting a CCW (called a CHL in my state) has anything to do with race. Or that buying a firearm has something to do with race. You think just because ppl are white that we want to have guns to protect us from other races. I personally don't care what race you are. If you try to cause harm to me and my family I'll put a few rounds into your chest until I feel like your no longer a threat. Race has nothing to do with wanting to protect your loved ones
I have to ask is the whole carrying a gun under CCW permit the race issue? It seems that way at times. If you don't mind why did you start carrying and purchasing?
I think its all in your carry method and what clothes you where. im not a huge guy though I could stand to lose a few pounds. I carry a S&W 629 Classic with a 6.5" comfortably and you cant see it at all. I also wear tighter clothes and still manage to hide it. Im 5,6 180lbs I found that if you wear casual clean clothes and never look suspicious people will not even think of looking for a gun on you.
not sure exactly how big the dimensions are for a full size glock 22, but i carry around a SA 1911 GI full size 5" barrel. about a 10 o'clock position.
I think fat guys actually have an advantage when it comes to concealment. The reason is that typically, the belly protrudes far enough that it creates a void around the front of the waist where the shirt is touching absolutely nothing.
On a skinny person the shirt is in contact with their body all the way down.
For those of us with an ample figure, I like to call it the “muffin top” concealment method.
I am currently (since August 2010) using a very comfortable holster made by a couple of local folks here in North Carolina. Not shilling but check them out: Search this: n82tactical holsters
Not trying to be critical, just wondering, how do you complete your drawstroke with your gun so close to your belt? (pinching the rear of the weapon and completing the grip on the way up/out?)
So what IWB holster do you use?

@ ihaveairlockers ...a Glock 22 is full size. Glock calls it "standard size" the 23 is the compact & 27 is sub compact..
How could you use that in the pants holster. The grip is rough textured & would scuff up the belly of any size user

Ahh, another victory for fatness... lol. When a buddy and I first started to carry this was one of the topics in our skinny vs fat debates.
I applaud your 2 o'clock carry. It's very comfortable while om foot but a real pain when sitting. Not to mention it pokes the hell out of my fat gut!

Hopefully I did a good job explaining that.
I call this the "tactical belly".

I think it was the Ruger P95. That is a big bulky gun.

No issues. Sometimes I'll excuse myself and go into a restroom and move it back if I know that I will be sitting for more than a few minutes.

Jerry thank you for that us fat guys appreciate it!!! LOL! I think I could conceal a Bazooka!
