Apparently, this ad is also being used by consultants who are telling teachers and principals how to do their jobs in NY State. (See NYT Nov 28, 2010, "Principals protest...")
On the merits of the commercial itself? As a woman and an engineer, it is always annoying if not surprising to me when pop culture - ads, movies, etc. - seems to think that only men are competent and clever and no women are part of our society except for decoration.
ok, i can tell you right now, busted. i no u said this a long time ago, but think about it, they were working on the wheels, they would need them to take off, and becides, the spots missing, the air going though, would cause wind resistance way too much, the plane would spiral out of control.... i love planes too, but that is impossible, also, the air is different up high, they would not be able to breathe... and even if they could do it, i dont think anyone is stupid enough to try and do it.
the sky's the limit, pointing out all the reasons something can't or won't work has and will never keep it from doing what it is going to do whether you like it or not, The Bee is always a good exaple, though I don't quote most movies, Bee's don't care what Humans think.' Maybe you can put it would be Impassable but nothings Impossible, and besides we keep looking forward, don't worry about how they got off the ground, that is in the past, look at how they will land. I am another example.
