  • I watched this video set to Dope's "Die M/F'er Die" and it cracked me up.

  • RIP Redshirts!

  • The one where the humans are turned to polygon blocks, episode "By any other Name", it was somewhat surprisingly the yeoman who got killed and not the red shirt security personnel though she was wearing a red dress.

  • 0:31 is Scotty....

Did Doohan just do that quick shot because the edit would be so quick they wouldn't recognise him or is he playing Scotty in that shot(in which case he obviously didn't die)?

  • @colliric You are correct. It is Scotty. Nomad actually kills him, but then brings him back to life in sickbay.

  • lol @ 2:26 death by forced blowjob

  • Bwahahaha! Red shirts getting offed while I play Unfitting music? XD

  • 1:50 Attacked by the artist formally known as Prince?

  • 200 Red Shirts?

    200 Dead Shirts.

  • Kirk, Spock, Bones, and ensign Ricky have beamed to the surface. Guess who's not coming back.

  • 1003 people knew what color the dislike button would bring about...

  • Red Shirt = Dead Shirt..

  • Its amazing Kirk is responsible for all those deaths and still kept his command!

Guess saving the galaxy is more important than his crew!

  • It was funny! Thanks.

  • 18 people are wearing redshirts

  • 1:49 When Ziggy Stardust attacks!

  • I worked lift ops at a ski resort, and the guys who wore red were the hosts, and

I called them red shirts. Fortunately, most of them didn't get the reference.

  • Welcome aboard! Here's your uniform. *hands you red uniform* Dun Dun Duuuuun! D:

*Puts on work uniform* Oh shiz! It's red! X_X

  • 0:47 Sule:"Ups, i am in red shirt"

  • When you see it all together it's kind of depressing. I wonder if they changed to yellow shirts (and ruled that captain stay on the ship) when they realized the universe just hates the color red.

  • Anyone else here wondering what the BlueXephos joke meant?

  • makes me wonder...remember "Red Squad" from DS9?

  • If it wasn't for red shirts the galaxy would be overpopulated.

  • Its a shame, some of these guys were pretty epic. I guess they made Worf to deflect the bad luck and survive it with awesomeness but by association, the yellow shirts became the new targets.

  • its true red always die except scotty

  • For some reason, I think of Circuit City and CompUSA when I hear the word "redshirt"... yes, I know they all had red shirts for uniforms... but for me, perhaps it's because how both companies went out of business... like i keep thinking of an analogy between redshirts getting killed on the show and the two former retail stores that had employees wearing redshirts going out of business....

  • they're dead Jim

  • Evil Sulu was lucky his good counterpart was an important character.

  • poor guy at 2:32

  • Ensign Ricky!

  • Try listening to this with the sound muted and Queen singing "Another One Bites the Dust" in the background. It's hilarious!

  • They seemed to get their asses vaped a lot.

  • I see what you did there

    ಠ_ಠ

  • All these red shirts and none of them are Kenshiro. Star Trek would be completely different with a red shirt wearing Kenshiro...!

  • long live the Red Shirt, God Damn the Yellow and Blue Shirts.

man i would so go down to laundry and swap out a few, Spock walks in wearing red, "Some one stool my blue shirts, logic dictates if i die and some one you have never seen in another episode is still alive, then the perpetrator must be that person"

  • Comment removed

  • damn, my favorite color red

  • kirk sent a lot of redshirts to they deaths.

  • first assignement in the entreprise

captain kirk : hi you must be the new crewmember here is your assignement shirt

"kirk give you a red shirt"

    you : FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • So if its better to be a cript then to be a blood.

  • scotty the lucky one

  • 0:44 Yeah I mean your three friends get zapped and you just stand there RUN THE FUCK OUT OF THE ROOM idk the premise but I'd be like alright I'm Audi 5000 cya guys.

  • How much irony does this need?

  • Wow...I'm never wearing red on the Enterprise! It's bad luck!!!

  • Wow, all these incidents ended in fatalities. Even Scotty died (before Nomad brought him back to life). BTW, doing it to ELO's "Im Alive" puts this video in the EPIC WIN column. ;)

  • I count 38 red shirts...

Note to self, ask for yellow shirt

  • red shirt guys also know as the "suicide squad"

  • The oldest red shirt vet has got to be a BAAAAD MUTHER!

  • omg i shall never wear a red shirt again im to young to die.................i think

  • BOOM!!! Rock mine

  • super thanks this is exactly what I was looking for.

  • how did they run out of people? did they have to start demoting people to red shirt?

  • @KillPyrite That would suck getting demoted to Red shirt....We all know what happens to red shirts.

  • that black guy in that redshirt at 2:37 is double screwed!

  • @gearsguy54 Funny thing is, I think I remember him being in the episode "the Galileo 7" and he survived that which probably makes him the longest surviving red shirt seen on the series.

  • @darkjediMIK but scotty made it into TNG...

  • @mudslideVT033 Ah, I mean ones that don't have main character invulnerability. Also, technically he did die that one episode, the Nomad I think it was called, course he got better soon after.

  • Can you think of anything else that Star Wars never used?

  • 4. Halo Rings: Simple: The entire plot surrounds on the activation of the rings and how that would destroy all sentient life in the galaxy.

  • 3. You don't have to use your body anymore: Remember when I mention Tron, well, ironically, just like Disney bought Marvel, WB made the Matrix. Every technology in the Matrix is a direct result of that. In addition, these societies were ruled by galactic religions being Jedi and Sith. Technology was only a tool for these people. They relied mainly on the Force to keep things moving.

  • 2. Time Travel: Remember that scene in Back to the Future where Dr. Brown warned Marty about creating a paradox? He explains three possibilities: one is that the entire universe would be destroyed; second is that the galaxy would be corrupted; third would only affect a single individual. There was a strong suspicion that the second possibility would occur because of time travel, but because of Luke Gore's popularity, nobody stopped him from such, so their history only exists in memory.

  • Technologies Star Wars never used and why:

    1. Transporters: Disney and Warner have made a longer film history than James Cameron and George Lucas. Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny are immortal gods. Therefore, those Star Wars people were suspicious about the actions of Disney and Warner, which includes the usage of transporters. Those red shirted n00bs on the Enterprise, on the other hand, were not aware of this threat and let pirate Mickey on board instead of traveling to a destination instantly.

  • Redshirts were harmed in the making of this video. XD

  • =o Do the red shirt (red dress) women tend to die a lot as well? When I think about, no women come to mind... I remember one episode of a woman dying, but I think she wore a yellow shirt/dress and the death wasn't permanent since it was the episode of the crew ending up on some amusement park planet (anything they imagined came to life).

  • @GwenhwyfarArt No, McCoy died in that but yeah, it was just an illusion. As far as I know, women are spared.

  • Wait...doesn't Uhura wear a red shirt? Guess she's lucky.

  • Oh yeah, and in the new Star trek Phase II series by james cawley and crew..the red shirt deaths tradition continues. One bites in blood and fire and one gets gunned down in enemy starfleet.

Most red shirts are so unlucky.

  • Great video man, good job. It just goes to show you, execept for some red shirts like Scotty,Uhura, and Kyle, red shirts are so darn unlucky in Star Trek TOS. BTW,what song is that in the background? Is that ELO?

  • Anyone has seen M Night Shamylan's the Village? In that movie, red is also bad luck.

  • I recently created a joke where Mickey Mouse as a pirate is attempting to capture the Enterprise. After fighting Bugs Bunny on the Grid, they become temporal allies and decide to go on a quest for the Star Wars galaxy.

  • @SirGabriel2076 Because the transporter on the Enterprise works the same exact way as the digitizer on Tron, Spock, one of them awesome n00bs, uses the transporter and finds himself on the Grid with Mickey Mouse right in front of him with that spandex and Frisbee. He starts walking the other way only to find himself flanked by Bugs Bunny in that trench coat and sunglasses with lots and lots of weapons with Kung Fu moves.

Once Mickey boards the ship, he uses Disney magic to kill the red shirts.

  • @SirGabriel2076 Bugs Bunny, on the other hand, has Acme.

Lesson for Star Trek, professional star fleets always use shuttles. Simplicity is one of the principles of warfare.

Star Wars is filled with perfected technology and wonder. They never use transporters, neither had they used time travel. The only time they had used it is to add everything that is wrong with the prequels and cursed the galaxy, causing human infants to be jettisoned throughout the stars.

  • @SirGabriel2076 The way the Clone Wars actually happened depends on how it is portrayed by Battlefront 2 and Lego Star Wars. Anakin, on the other hand, goes through all the same experiences Luke went through but makes the wrong choices.

  • @SirGabriel2076

The transporter is used in Star Trek because the original show literally didn't have the budget to create and utilize a shuttle prop in an effective and realistic manner for each individual planet. It was, instead, much cheaper to put in a fancy lighting effect and a jump cut.

  • I just threw all my red shirts away!

  • The most pathetic beings in the universe! :D

  • 33 red shirts were harmed in the making of this video.

  • My favorite "dead red shirt" scene wasn't nearly so visually spectacular: In year three's "And the Children Shall Lead", Kirk orders two red shirts beamed down to a planet the Enterprise is orbiting. Turns out, it's all a trick by the telepathic kids, and there is no planet down there. OOPS!!

  • weirdest part is at 1:13 when they turn into sugar cubes or whatever.

  • 1:51 WTF MAN IN A DRESS?

  • It wouldn't be wise for Uhura or Scotty (who both wear red) to be bumped off.

They're both important to the Enterprise crew.

Scotty has to keep the ship's engines in line.

Uhura is in charge of the ship's radio.

  • Exhibit A: Spock dies in Wrath of Khan while wearing a RED uniform type thing.

Exhibit B: Kirk dies in Generations while wearing a RED vest thing

Exhibit C: hundreds of minor characters throughout the original series and movies also die whilst wearing RED shirts/uniforms

Conclusion: RED SHIRTS ARE EVIL AND VIRTUALLY GUARANTEE YOUR DEATH, MORE OFTEN THAN NOT IN AN EXCRUTIATING MANNER!

  • its funny how only the red shirts seem to die

  • of all the red shirts in the entire star trec origonal series, only ones that were main characters didnt die

  • red shirts always die huh

  • Did anyone in a blue shirt ever die?

  • @codafett Only on other ships that the Enterprise encountered.

  • 0:29 looked painful...

  • LMAO, here we are again with Lt's goner and toast. bad day to wear your red shirt !

  • red sirt must be in there to hide blood.

  • 0:57 QUICK SULU take off yer shirt!!!

  • Were some of those scenes from Star Trek: Enterprise? The "Mirror Darkly" episode when the Yorktown is found in the mirror universe? Could have sworn some red-shirts from the ST:TOS-era were found strewn about the ship...

  • @burkesongs Everything here is from TOS.

  • @burkesongs That scene was from the TOS episode "The Tholian Web".They made several scenes to connect the "Mirror Darkly' to scenes in TOS(the old uniforms,The tholians and the Gorn)That is why it seems so similar

  • @burkesongs That would make sense since the Defiant is the same one that dissapeared in TOS episode 64 The Tholian Web. No I am not a Star Trek nut, I just have the internet

  • @burkesongs It was the Defiant, not the Yorktown

  • Serves em right for wearing red LOL

  • Brilliant!

  • Welcome abord. here is your shirt

    *gets red shirt*

    Fuck

  • @mattstorm360 hahahahah

  • At 1:26 is Lieutenant Leslie, the only redshirt who comes back to live after 'Obession'

  • Kirk: "Sulu, I need a security detail for the away mission."

Sulu: "Can't do it yet sir."

    Kirk: "Why not?"

Sulu: They're all curled up on the floor crying for their mommies."

Great video. R.I.P. to all the red shirts ever killed in Trek history.

  • red means command thoe

i dont want command if thats true

  • @fennectech Actually, in the original series: Yellow is command, blue is sciences/medical and red is engineering/communications and security/tactical. Damn, I'm such a freaking Treky. LOL

  • @lordzaphodbeeb yes but i grew up with voyager so to me red is command and it allways will be for me

  • Ah, the redshirt. The proud, the noble, the brave. THey make up the best of the fleet, They all deserve me- GODDAMNIT DAVE! YOU JUST HAD TO GET FUCKING VAPORIZED IN MY SPEECH? Send another r-GODDAMNIT! TAKE OFF YOU SHIRTS! NO! STOP KILLING MY REDSHIRTS!

  • You know what they say: One you go red, you go dead.

  • @Flailwielder Oh, boy, I just got how this all relates to the Communist hysteria of the time that these shows were made. Better off red than dead taken to it's ultimate in Star Trek, because you end up both.

  • and yet...i still want to be a RED SHIRT

  • The few, the proud...

    The deadshirts.

    Er, I mean "redshirts".

    ;)

  • great video, lousy music

  • 0.0 i just wearing a red shirt ( laser beam sound ) NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Hey Guys i just figure out how to surive 2012 DON'T WEAR A RED SHIRT

  • There was a Marvel comic book villain who called himself Redshrt. Guess how he ended... :)

  • LOL Christ red shirts are practically the kennys of star trek

  • I was reading an article on the cracked website saying that if u wear red all these great things happen to u, ha this video plus the fact that the kc chiefs havent won a superbowl in 41 yrs and the niners havent won in 16yrs dismisses this theory

  • when I was a kid, too young to understand star trek, my dad dragged me to a convention, and threw me in a costume cuz he thought it'd be cute...he made me a redshirt...jackass....

  • Redshirts are made in China, thats why they die so easily.

  • 00:42 - Burned crisp.

  • I found a red tunic at ThinkGeek that has "Expendable" printed across it. Lol

  • red shirt guy: im alive

    klingon: no your not

  • the one person in this video who died without a redshirt had redsocks

  • when you grow up or if your already grown and ever decide to go outerspace whatever you do DONT WHERE RED!!!!!!!!

  • Scotty did actually die in the original series, he just got "repaired" by a robot, NO REDSHIRT IS SAFE...

    unless your Uhura

  • @keiakuma And Uhuru majorly got her memory wiped clean in that episode.

  • I was reared on Star Trek re-runs.

After awhile, whenever we'd see a redshirt, I'd say "Redshirt alert!" or "Redshirt walking!".

My parents thought that was hysterical.

  • 17 people have redshirts.

  • 00:39, God hates red shirts.

  • Man, they really wern't afraid to kill people in the original series were they. There's more deaths in there than probably the rest of the series combined.

  • i watched the episode at 00:25 and the redshirt dies around 20 seconds from beaming down XD

  • as much as I love the Red shirt thing to my soft heart still feels bad for them.

  • Yup, this must be what it's like to be infantry, especially so in the Marines. Yikes!

  • @Redig76 u mean army in the army there like aaa shit grab another 1 off the shelf they actually ttrain u in the marines

  • Sulu didn't get beamed by the Romulan Hottie cause she knew which way he swung!

  • haha, what an ironic song! :D

  • Who was the only Redshirt to survive TOS other than Uhura? I can't remember his name, but he was some sort of grey-haired Sgt. somethingawrather. X(

  • @NodDisciple1 Scotty though his hair is brown it just Greyed as he got order.

  • @NodDisciple1 I know of two others, Lt. Leslie who was one of Scotty's security personnel didn't die in the series -- he would show up from time-to-time but mainly be background and then there was the main Transporter Chief never died (forget his name off the top of my head, but he had an accent similiar to Scotty's.)

  • @NodDisciple1 Was it Kyle?

  • @newfreshreview Maybe. X-/

  • Some days, I just want to put certain people in red shirts and send them out on dangerous missions.

  • Sucks to be a red shirt XD

  • I think the reshirts getting zapped in pairs originated from "The Day The Earth Stood Still" when the robot zapped a pair of army soldiers at the same time.

  • Should have titled this "101 Ways to Kill a Redshirt".

  • I'm surprised Starfleet didn't make green shirts or something. I feel a little bad for the redshirts but didn't they do stupid things? Like Olsen in the 09 movie when he pretty much commited suicide....

Is it wrong me and my best friends laughed at that?

  • uhara, scott, picard, and 5 other red shirts are the only ones that survive

  • Scotty supposedly wore a red shirt during the original series, but what the redshirts didn't know, is that his shirt was slightly more yellow than theirs, just barely enough to render it inert. HE WAS NEVER REALLY ON THEIR SIDE!!

  • Nice Job ,,, A very enjoyable clip :^)

  • 1:44 Must....not....fap

  • This is why i don't wear red

  • I remember always hoping to see some of these people live but they never did

  • This video is too much. I can't get enough of it. Please remind me not to wear redshirts.

  • Redshirts, the Kennies (south park) of star trek. Chosen because red is the colour of communism and at the time, communists weren't exactly popular in America. By the way, david2742's suggestion regarding the pre-pubescent arsehole might just be onto something

  • ah, mate. u should have put in the red shirt Olson from the 2009 movie.

  • we should put Justin Bieber in a red shirt

  • @david2742 And Lady Gaga?

  • I never realized the massive amount of red shirt carnage until know. ROTFL.

  • i should feel bad about laughing while watching about 60 people die in the space of 4 minutes....but that was fucking hilarious.

  • Would this count as a form of racism?

  • Poor red shirt people.

  • LOL, PERFECT!

just came to me BEST battle ever! Redshirts vs stormtroopers! WHO WILL WIN! those who take the hits or the ones who cant hit any thing!

  • i'm amazed the redshirts even get out of bed in the morning with luck like this.

  • Apparently the universe is a crip. :D

  • 1:59 - 2:04 & 2:38 - 2:41 is my favorite, that of the lovely space genie, Losira, from the Star Trek TOS episode, "That Which Survives."

Losira easily disposes 3 members of the Enterprise crew with her hypnotic beauty & her death touch, with Sulu almost becoming victim #4

Losira was played by actress & Miss America Lee Meriwether, who also starred as Catwoman in the 1966 Batman movie.

    :D

I've posted videos of Losira on my channel. Visit when you can & let me know what you think.

    Thanks!

  • so?

  • A Letter from Starfleet Headquarters For all of you young officers embarking on the starship Enteprise who are unfortunate enough to wear red shirts, we send you greetings. It is unlikely that you will survive the five year mission, so we wish you a quick and painless death. Good luck Signed: Starfleet Headquarters Return letter from redshirts Dear Starfleet If you wish us luck, then can you please give us a different colored shirt. Anything is better than this. Signed: The Redshirts

  • 1:13 *sigh*

    Reduced to blocks of tofu...

    Manly tears were shed.

  • ELO and Star Trek, two or my favorite things!

  • This is why having technical, medical and leadership skills is a must if you wanna live.

  • wow 1:41 - 1:44 I'm fucking speechless

  • :) red shirts deserve it .. for being noobs

  • So... wearing a red shirt is basically like having a huge bullseye on you. Except when it comes to main characters.

  • @wiseidiot5763 pretty much

  • @wiseidiot5763 This is why Target picked red? -:)

  • I counted 32 dead redshirts. wow.
