  • Hi I'm a 15 y/o very broad and muscular male and I need to achieve the splits in order to gain flexibility for MMA and Parkour. I've been trying to get the splits for years! But I just can't seem to do it.. My quads are very big and it dosent hurt when I push them as far as they will go down and I stretch and stretch a lot! But it just won't allow it! Have you got any advice?

  • @ChocolateLlamaDrop

I suggest you find an experienced instructor or partner to stretch you

so you can take your flexibility to the next level. If you have not ordered my DVD, it's available as a download and there may be lots of new techniques and stretches you may not be familiar with yet, that can help you too.

  • Hi Im a Dancer and i need to do my splits for a part in my dance routine but ive been in dance 4 4years and i still cant get my whole body to the floor any help please

  • @iRatz123 You may not be doing a wide variety of stretches to really open up your body. Everything is connected. If you have not followed my routine in my Secrets of Splits DVD, you may want to consider ordering it or instantly purchasing the download.

    Best Wishes to you.

  • Hi , im in eighth grade and i need to learn how to do perfect splits by the end of the school year in order to join cheer in highschool ,I REALLY want to join and i stretch at least for 30 minutes to an hour,i can almost do a scorpion but whenever i try splits my back leg always has the reflex to move forward. any tips? PLEASE help!!

  • @jamesmaslowsbrunette You could try having someone hold your back leg in place as you slide forward. Perhaps, you might need to stretch your quads a bit more before practicing your splits.

  • I have been stretching for months. I can do the forward splits confidently and I can sit in these side splits at a decent angle but I would really like to get to where you are.

  • ive been try to learn the split for ages, but i have trouble doing my side splits, and stretching out my leg, my knees really ache when i do this im still about 30cm or so off the ground. ive been doing everything in this video for a few weeks now, do you have any tips that could help me ?

  • @SarahKaye13 To help your knees, make sure when going into splits your feet are not turned in or turned out, they should be in a straight line with the leg.And be sure you

turning out the front leg from the top of the leg and not from the knee.

If you are just doing the few stretches from this clip, you should be warmed up 1st.

You may want to get my entire DVD, so you are guided to do this in proper order.

  • I need to learn my splits by Wednesday. I don't take gymnastics. Any tips? I stretch for several hours a day, eat healthy, and exersize. Thanks!

  • @SareBearStare I don't know how far you are from the splits or what your routine is so it's difficult to gives tips. There may be an area that's not getting properly stretched which is important because everything is connected. Also, my DVD offers the proper order of stretches and many more tips than I can write out. You may want to purchase the download if you want immediate help.

The good news is anyone change their flexibility at any age!

  • For beginners would be "For the Least Flexible People on the Planet"

Which is available through Amazon or my website

  • where can i get your dvd for beginners?

  • Stretch around the injury. Only do stretches that do not bring the bad kind of pain.

Never bounce and use your breathing to work past the tightness.

  • Hello Stacey my name is Kassidy i hurt my hamstring so its preety hard to get flexible again so would u please tell me some tips n tricks so i can become flexible fast??

  • great !

  • I wish I was that wall

  • she's like a cyborg...i think i'm in love

  • you look real great

  • Really stretch your calve a lot before going into splits.

That will stretch behind the knee.

  • Whenever I do my split (im just above the ground) and i try to push myself down further, I get this weird feeling right behind my knee. It hurts a little and it prevents me from getting my split down! What can I do to help it?!

  • Wow, I do taekwondo, and Im really flexible with hamstrings and a bunch of other muscles but the adductors and groin, possibly even the hip flexors are annoying the life out of me , i do the exact same stretches at home especially lying on back, legs on the wall, with ankleweights to bring my legs down further, i hold it for at least 5-10 mins 2 times a day, just started this, this was really encouraging!!

  • i have not bad flexibility in a forward/back direction, i've almost got my front splits on both legs but my middle split SUCKS and just sitting in a straddle is pretty much impossible for me i can hardly open my legs let alone think about bending forward! what is wrong with me? whats so still about me while other bits are fine? how can i fix this?

  • @pinkglitteryshoes you really should focus on gently stretching that area often. Otherwise, you might over compensate and develop bad habits. Get one of my DVD's to guide you on how to stretch these areas.

Or find an instructor that can help you.

  • THIS HELPED!!!

  • Im half an inch off the ground oooh soo close!!!

  • I have NO flexibility, do you think i should still try?

  • @ms2manycupcakes Start with a beginners program 1st like my

DVD "For the least flexible people on the planet" Good Luck!

  • When ever i attempt to do the splits my legs hurts where it connects to my hip why is this?

  • @bluetube147 It sounds like you need to stretch your outer-hip t-band area

a lot and really warm up that area up 1st before you practice your splits.

  • @bluetube147 It sounds like you need to stretch your outer-hip t-band area

  • @nonaabadi Definitely! Anyone can change their flexibility at any time! Just start right from where you are and you will progress.

  • @Tcat5310

Yes- being flexible an important part of martial arts & parkour training-so

one can move at the full range of motion- and help prevent injuries.

  • ♥ there are no secrets to it, you just have to practice everyday ♥

  • wow ms. Nemour, you are really good...

  • OMG i'm not that flexible enough -.-

  • im gonna try this.....thank you <33

  • this is a great vid and i no that u a real good pro but why do ya no point your toes? its easier when you point them. anyway ur a gr8 flexibility trainer!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I do both point & flex in the DVD. It's important to stay in balance. I do a lot of flexing because that's the best way to deeply stretch the calve, which allows the hamstring & back get fully stretched too.

  • Hi Stacey!! About a month ago, a had a breakage on my left haunch and now it's very painful for me to stretch...would you please tell me what i can do to stop the pain and bring back my flexibility??? great job anyway your exercises help me a lot!!:)

  • 1.I would put ice under your left knee for about 10 minutes.

    2. Have someone message the soreness out on the back of the knee and all the muscles around it.

    3. Keep stretching around the injury. If you feel the bad kind of pain, when you stretch that area, stop.

    4. Give in time to heal, but keep doing work-outs and exercises that don't bother that area, so when it heals, you'll come back stronger

  • thank you sooo much!!!:)) you're great!!:)

  • bought the dvd, and loving it....great rutine.....thanks

  • Glad you are so pleased with my DVD!

    Best Wishes to you.

  • Hi Stacey! you´re amazing, you´re awesome!! I have a question for you: How many times a week should I train for a spagat if not five years ago I train? What routine follow, how many hours a day? I sometimes feel the body harder and some very flexible. Sorry Stacey, my english is ver bad, I´m from Argentina.

    Thanks and I admire you

  • If you dance or work-out, always do a good warm-up and when you do a cool down stretch when your body is warm, you can stretch deeper and try to push to a new place each time. If it's painful only hold it for a few seconds, then relax a few seconds and keep going back into the stretch until you feel your muscle release. You can stretch daily. I always like to take one day a week of complete rest, so the body can repair.

    Good Luck!

  • I just ordered this DVD and was wondering what you would recommend to hold each stretch? Thanks

  • It's best to hold the stretch and keep breathing and relaxing into it until you feel the muscle release.

If you are extra tight and it feels to intense, only hold it a few seconds, go to the other side and keep coming back to it over & over. Each time you should notice that you are able to go further with less pain.

  • So at 0:24 will that help your splits?

  • Yes, of course!

  • No problem, I am here to help. Keep the vision and practice going and you'll surely get there :-)

  • Well, as long as you are properly warmed up, you want to push to a new place but, at 1st don't hold

it long- just a few seconds when going to a new place in deep flexibility, that you don't over do it and the body has memory, so that will be your new set point! Also, there is a difference between the good kind of pain and the bad. If it's the bad kind stop so you don't get injured.

  • thank you for replying back every time i get into the splits i could never do it the next day.. i want to be flexible so i can be a dancer! thank you very much

  • is it ok to over do it i always hear its not good t do that.. because i see ballet teachers do it t their students.. can i do it that way, i kinda dont mind the pain because i just want to be flexible

  • Yes, there's a difference between doing splits on the floor and translating it to stand up flexibility.

I suggest doing bar work and or using the wall to hold leg up while standing. Take your leg as high as it will go and hold it there. My DVD "Extreme Flexibility for Pro-Athletes and Teams" also has lots of training drills to develop that quickly!!!!

  • I do all of these stretches at dance. My teacher says i have all the flexibility and a lot of strength but not enough to like hold my leg up really high in ballet for example so do you have any tipso n how to strengthen my core because he says that what i need to stregnthen the most
