I'm coming from this reply from a neutral standpoint. I am not gay, but I openly support gay rights/issues & promote equality where I can - it goes without saying that I have many gay, bi, straight friends.
I used to be a Shaytards fan too, but I unsubscribed for different reasons. I knew they _used_ to be Mormons, but I don't feel this is their current belief.
Everyone has a right to own their emotions, but there are also times where anyone can be sensitive to words...
Why don't u just come out and say instead of beating around the bush. They are a conservative modern family, Morons & u think any1 who doesn't agree with your lifestyle is homophobic and hateful. I never herd the term "nohomo" if he said it so what it was clearly joke. U know Shay personality. I know people who don't agree with ur lifestyle yet they don't hate gays or want to convert them or anything. They just live their lives. U should've listened to ur partner b4 posting this bull shit.
also if actually think the term no homo makes someone homophobic that is just so stupid now im all for equal rights and i have alot of gay and lesbian friends that i love but when people think every little joke about something is a big deal and oh ur a homophobe cos you made a gay joke then ur really an idiot
you are a retard you think they are homophobes even though the guy who edits his videos and is one of shays closest friends is infact gay? yeah he totally hates gay people dumbass
I'm tired of the gay community stomping their feet and throwing a fit every single fucking time someone says any sort of gay joke. All "no homo" means is that if a guy says something or does something kind of gay to you he can say it to say "I don't mean it in a gay way". It doesn't have any negative meaning. It's not saying that gays are less or anything. And fuck it's JUST A JOKE! On top of that it's a joke that people don't make in front of other gay people. So shut the fuck up about it!!
@lasoogneypubes No...It means that you are an insecure little boy who wants to be a man but is scared if he does anything that his friends may be perceived as gay...he has to have a witty response to cover his insecurities.
@depfox Haha awww are you mad? Nobody's making these jokes when gay people are around. I don't see anything wrong with joking as long as you're not hurting anybody's feelings. I wouldn't make gay jokes in front of gay people 'cause that wouldn't be very nice. I have no exceptions to joking about anything if it's race, sex or making fun of myself. I don't think anything is off limits unless you're hurting someone's feelings. And a joke is not to be taken seriously. You don't really mean it.
@lasoogneypubes I agree that jokes can be harmless in context if you watched my video you would understand why I feel the way I do about shaytards as for making jokes around friends who you think are straight you would be surprised who is gay that you don't even know and jokes like No Homo and that's gay are the reasons a friend of yours may stay int he closet because they perceive you as homophobic.
@lasoogneypubes being thoughtless in your derision, even if insincere, is still derision. yes people make these 'jokes' around their chosen targets all the time, mebbe not in your circle-that you know- but it still happens and it still makes people feel less, more so because it is so casual.
@steeldrago73 I think any kind of joke is fine as long as you're not deeply offending anybody. I wouldn't make gay jokes in front of gays, black jokes in front of blacks, asian jokes in front of asians etc. Unless they think it's funny and want to throw some white jokes back at me. I'm cool with that. I don't see gays as any less than me or anybody else, and I joke about any and everything. Nothing is sacred. Not even myself.
@lasoogneypubes Everyone knows you are trolling for attention so why not drop the pretense and btw you are not joking, you are insulting. There is a difference and it's a sign of disrespect.
@lasoogneypubes well what about racists jokes? is it okay? LOL -- your the type that knows everything, and your way, and dont see anyone elses opinion, or the facts that are there.
@steeldrago73 No it's not. If you're a big blubbering vagina than yeah.. A joke is not meant to be taken seriously. When I joke about gay people I don't really mean what I say, it's just a joke. I wouldn't say it to a gay person because from what I've seen they're extremely hyper sensitive about any kind of gay jokes or slurs.
@ronfan69 He is referring people that are sincerely think less of gay people and are in favor of discrimination on that basis. Imagine if white people were saying no black after every fist bump, it implies that being black is undesirable.
I understand 'No homo' at times is simply stating no sexual overtones are implied.
@iMaDeMoN2012 Being gay IS undesirable. Men value their masculinity and no amount of liberal-fascist shaming will change that. It's abnormal to want to love and have sex with another man. That does not mean we should treat those who do as lesser humans. "No homo" (as a general term and in the context Shaycarl used it) has no malicious discriminatory intent WHATSOEVER.
@ronfan69 I don't consider myself less masculine as the fascists stereotype me to be. If fact I think I am more masculine than most of the male population.
No homo is inherently derived from a fear of being perceived as gay because of fascist stereotyping and disapproval.
@iMaDeMoN2012 No homo doesn't come from a fear of being perceived as gay. I'm straight and 100% convinced that I'm not gay and I say "no homo" sometimes. I have nothing against gay people and I'm not afraid of them. People like you get offended and use homophobe as a way of insulting the person you were offended by. If I made retard jokes would that make me afraid of retards? Stop saying homophobe, it's really stupid and inaccurate. Just call people ignorant if you have to.
@lasoogneypubes What if you instead said to your friend,"hey brother you know I love you, very homo." Now that would be funny.
And in context, shaytards no homo comments, his moron family and the deleting of depfox's love story video is clear evidence of homophobia as I defined it in an earlier post.
Correction: Retelling tired retard jokes would make you afraid of being perceived as stupid, not afraid of retards. The fact that you don't understand that tells me you are stupid.
@iMaDeMoN2012 Actually I do joke around with my friends like that. More often than not we pretend to be hitting on each other or something as a joke. I hardly ever make jokes at gay people's expense. So any kind of negative joke implies that you're afraid of whatever it is you're making fun of? That's a bunch of tired untrue bullshit that offended people spout to make themselves feel better. A joke is a joke. Get over yourself.
The first time I watched one of their videos I felt sorry for the kids. I can't imagine having to grow up with such insanity like mormonism. It's just crazy.
Half of shaytards friends are gay ! they are pretty welcome to other people's view. Anyone can be called homophob these days , its use like anti-semtic. I told people i don't like to see two dudes making out in public im a automatic homophob lol
@yourboycal Homophobes are people that look down on gay people as sinful or a lesser person. Why would I want to be friends or a fan of someone that has such a low opinion of people like me.
Near the end of high school, when I was still in the closet, three of friends showed themselves sincere homophobes, I couldn't remain friends with them. What self respecting person would?
"Being a Mormon doesn't make you homophobic." No but it does make you stupid. The origins of Mormonism are so fucking ridiculous only a moron could believe it.
Seriously dude chill the fuck out. As for expressions like "no homo" or "that's gay", you can bet that 9/10 people don't mean it in the literal sense. Just like yelling "fuck me!" is not actually an invitation. Learn to take things for what they are. For the one guy that DOES mean it in an offensive way, well...fuck him (not in the literal sense, of course). I'm from a racial minority and I learned a long time ago that if you seek out things to be offended by, you will always find them.
I have no problem with gay people I actually support gay right actively, but I won't lie I do use "no homo" not in any hateful way though. I didn't know it was that offensive, I've use it around one of my best friends who is a lesbian and she never corrected me(might just be because she knows I am the last person she would suspect of being antigay). I also did not know the shaytards were mormon, I unsubscribed in the middle of this video when I found that out. I despise that hate filled cult.
No homo is a catchphrase used by riley freeman on the show the boondocks its shouldnt be offensive im a straight guy and say no homo now and again and call people gay but have no hatred towards homosexuals its like the word nigger because im white people will think i was racist but im not using it in a offensive manner and many black people use that word so why shouldnt i
@manictravel So your problem with gay people raising kids is that they will be bullied for having gay parents? This after using the word faggot and saying they were bad for society? Sounds like you are the problem.
You know I always used to say no homo and I didn't really think about it as being offensive, I'll try to remind myself to stop if it tends to offend gay people. But what do you think of the term gay now being a synonym for stupid? Like it used to mean just happy and then turned into a word for homosexuals, and now it is used as stupid. Just wondering. I'm a straight guy btw
@manictravel I have a right to make a video and you have a right to make a video saying the things you did here...My guess is you are to much of a coward to do so...I guess this Faggot is a bigger man then you sissy boy. My kids are happy and my son will be ten times the man you are...Some day one of your cowards will say this to my face and Ill give you a good smack.
We must also remember that the Shaytards is a daily vlog oriented around their family. So homosexuality plays a rather small part in their life (yes i am aware of brett), which in turn means that the subject not often raised in the household let alone ever in the vlogs. To assume they're homophobic from an absence of support for the gay community in their vlogs is a very slippery slope. I hope in time they change your mind :)
You're judgement of the Shaytards is based on very limited and speculative information. Maybe the term 'no homo' is politically incorrect to some. Is it really different than a gay man joking when he has an interaction with a woman that nothing can come of it because he is gay? And nearly all christian religions are homophobic in some capacity. So to assume that they may be homophobic because of their religion is a rather naive.
I've said "No Homo" before and I'm not Homophobic! As you've said, he probably has his reasons for taking down your video reply. I think you overreacted because he didn't reply to your e-mail, which probably got lost in the hundreds of YouTube e-mails he receives on a daily bases!
No Homo Means this. say for example I am a straight man and i see a workout video of another man and i say: "Wow he has a great body no homo". The no homo makes people not misinterpret what i said because if i didn't put no homo on the end people would think i like his body in a sexual way even tho that isn't a bad thing. u want people reading ur comment to know specifically what ur talking about which is the view that he has a healthy body not that i am attracted to him. Hope that makes sense
Dude you got something up your ass. You're the kind of people that piss me off. You look too into something that is NOT THERE! Get over it and move on!
If the Shaytards were homophobic, then why does he have a gay man working for him and editing his videos? In fact, Brett The Intern is on quite a few of their videos and they work and get along just fine.
The Shaytards make great videos with an inspiring message. They have never done anything to hurt you. That "no homo" was probably taken completely out of context. They joke about a lot of strange things, and there are so many videos of them out there, you are bound to find something offensive if you dig for it. Brett sees their lives every day, would he really edit for them if they were homophobic?
I also wanted to say that your family is absolutely beautiful and inspirational and I think your message is great. God Bless you and your family and I hope you all have a wonderful 2012.
One of my best friends is gay and has taught me so much about love and acceptance. We worked together and one day I said "That's so gay" and he was like - What does that mean and I said, it just means ya know that's so weird or dumb -and right after I said it - I realized how horrible it was. And I have never said it again. I dont say N-H but I hear it and I too believe its offensive. Do I think people who speak this way are homophobic - not necessarily. They may just be ignorant.
If our societies move in the right direction their will be no "gay community", rather we will have all relearned to live well together, regardless of our differences. If it's not pathological or detrimental their is no need to be against it. Nuff said,, One Love
If you don't know if they are homophobic or not, don't make a video calling them out for it. "no homo" is a stupid saying I agree, but its widely used. The Shaytards are friends with many gay people, in fact there editor, BrettTheIntern is gay, and they treat him like one of the family, theres even a video of shay wrestling with him. so, No. the Shaytards are not homophobic.
the reason you probably didn't get a response is because they are one of the most popular channels of all time. They most likely get 100s and 100's,if not 1000's of comments and messages a day.I'm not saying that your message was not any less important than the others, that is just kind of what happens with those types of channels...
ok yeah with this whole "no homo" thing me and my best friend ~who is in the closet~ to the mainstream started saying "no hetro" in the same way the boys in my class would say no homo and after a couple of weeks we have never heard "no homo" since.~just a little advice for fellow LGBT out there~
While I disagree with your opinions on people saying no homo(I don't take that seriously, I see it as just a joke, also growing up in the 90s, to me saying "that's gay" is the same as calling something stupid..it's not meant to be hateful towards gay people..and I am gay) I will say, growing up in the mormon church, he probably removed your video because of his beliefs. I don't think he's homophobic..but just extremely ignorant and a product of the environment he was raised in.
When I think of Mormons I automatically think of those North Koreans you see right now wailing over the death of Kim Jong-Il, or his father Kim Il Sung. They may be very nice people, but they've been brainwashed into ignorance. If one supports LDS beliefs, they in turn support ignorance and prejudice which, like the North Korean wailers, is actually something that oppresses its believers as much as its scapegoats. Mormonism was fervently racist until 1978 and it remains homophobic and sexist.
I don't understand why people feel that they have the right "not" to be offended. If something that a person says offends you, that's tough. I know that given our current and past presidents, the freedom of speech is taken lightly. Arguing whether or not Shayarl is "homophobic" is so silly. If he was a nazi he still has the right to have a youtube account and say whatever he wants. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. Sorry, but that is how things work in the most 'Free' (for now) country.
@MyEricrodriguez He has a job. He is a police officer. He's sharing something that bothers him. Just because you disagree with him does not make him a "bum".
There are more perspectives on homosexuality other than "hate it" or "love it." And I think it's wrong to label people as homophobic because they don't "love it." The use of the term "no homo" is not homophobic. "phobic" implies an irrational fear. There is no "fear of gays" requirement for the use of the term "no homo". If you don't want homosexuals being labeled in such broad terms, then you shouldn't be labeling non-homosexuals in the same manner.
No homo is not homophobic its just exactly what it says. Someone can see what your doing and assume its gay. Your not gay and don't want to be viewed as gay so one states no homo to clear that up. when someone assumes no homo is bad it's like saying I'm not gay and meaning it as "I'm not gay so obviously gay is evil". By the way being PC is awful if I want to use a word it's my right here in America get over it. And if you want to get gay married move its pretty easy to do I've moved 9 times.
@MrBigboy7474 No homo is homophobic... you're scared of being perceived as a homosexual. If you're comfortable with your sexuality, why do you have to continually tell everyone else that you're straight?
Shaycarl is not homophobic. I say this with 100% assurance. In case you didn't know a fellow youtuber, BrettTheIntern is gay. Now if Shay is a homophobe, he wouldn't want gays any where NEAR his family, correct? BrettTheIntern is actually an employee of Shays company, and is around his kids and wife all the time. In his videos they seem to have an open friendship. If he was a homophobe, Shay would not act that towards Brett.
Well said !!! I've never been much of a fan of the Sheytards and that is more of an independent video / personal style that he exudes than anything else. I didn't know that they were mormon, nor did I know that the phrase "no homo" was offensive. I'm glad you made the video and it's good for people to be aware of what it means to belong to certain religious organizations. When you support those organizations, you also support their activities. I don't support crazy. I support reason and sanity
Well done on this video. It was unbiased and you did a great job of leaving it open enough for others to decide for themselves how they feel about the Shaytards while also voicing your own opinion on the subject. Though I may somewhat disagree with you on the "no homo" issue (I don't think its as offensive as say f*g or d*ke) but overall great video.
The phrase "no homo" is often used as a way of saying "without sexual intentions" whenever two guys do something together. It's not said as a serious thing, it's just a minor joke.
@UnidentifiedRob I'm not gay but, even minor jokes have a large effect, the term "no homo" is a representation of society's disapproval of gays, if it were not, it would say, "not sexually" or something along those lines, and honestly, wouldn't your friend know it wasn't homo if you touched him on arm (just an example). The term is by definition homophobic, not because it is saying that "i am not homosexual" it is that you are stressing that you are not b/c gays are ridiculed and "feminine"
@Kcfromsca Do you even know what a phobia is?? The FEAR of something. Quit calling everyone that makes gay jokes a homoPHOBE. If I were to make jokes about retarded people would that make me afraid of retards? So stop calling people homophobes, it's inaccurate and an unfair way to try and insult those who offended you. It's childish and it doesn't even make sense. On top of that, saying "no homo" doesn't mean you don't like gays. Just that you didn't mean it in a gay kind of way. Get over it.
@UnidentifiedRob well, put it this way.. if you put it "no homo" ... when your eating chicken and kool aid, do you say "no nigger?"--- no you dont.. "homo" is a derogatory word.. PERIOD
@LeGette88 I subscribe to the idea that words themselves aren't bard. What's bad is the intention you put behind them upon their use. So if you crack a "No homo" joke without any sort of underlying bad intentions then you're not being "homophobic".
You obviously don't have to share my point of view on this, but it's how I personally view words. You're free to view them differently.
@UnidentifiedRob That is my point exactly, is it possible for a racist to make an innocent racist joke. I say no, the jokes are merely a symptom of his racism. The same applies to homophobia.
@UnidentifiedRob but why would you feel the need to add that proviso? if your friends know your sexual object then they know you arent pursuing 'them.'
I think you should be upset about this. It never ceases to amaze me the dark bigotries that lurk in seemingly nice people. I have unsubscribed from their channel.
I can see your points and understand the frustration. I personally despise the teachings of the Mormon church and that has to have some influence on their views. That said, I wouldn't go as far as to call them homophobic, largely because they work very closely with BrettTheIntern unless that is an elaborate cover-up, which I find very unlikely. They seem like genuine people but I can't see them being thrilled if one of their sons was gay.
Wow you seem like one of those gay guys that believes the whole world is against the gay community,, you really had no "proof" at all,, quit being so overly sensitive -_-
I used to watch the shaytards all the time until i started to get a homophobic or anti-gay vibe from them. It wasn't even the things you pointed out, other things made me feel that way. This is a risky post bc shay has a ton of followers that will defend him. But at the end of the day I see exactly where you are coming from. Great post.
i have seen every one of shays videos and i have never thought of him as a homophobe. His editor just happens to be gay and he has never treated him any differently than any other of his other friends. To judge him based on him saying n-h is basing him on one thing he said one time. I'm sure you've said things that you wish you could take back or that wasn't exactly pc. He tapes his life everyday! anyone will slip up and say something offensive to certain people if you vlog daily.
@DjSammySamosa If you had watched the video I give Three reasons not just one...You might want to watch b4 you go on the attack also I didnt say he was I gave reasons why he might be.
@depfox i'm sorry if you felt like my comment was an attack against you and yes i did watch your video in full before commenting but youtube only gives you so much room to write. the other 2 reasons were your video getting shot down and the fact that they were morman? isn't basing someone on their religion just as wrong as basing someone on their sexual orientation? I'm not trying to sway you back to watching their videos i just wanted to express my feelings just like you did in making this vid.
@DjSammySamosa First reason was I was a fan and when they asked their fans to post a video of how they met their special someone...I did and they removed it. 2nd the Mormon church has declared war on LGBT people...Its not that just dislike us but they are going state by state to pass laws against our families. So no I dont feel when you are being attacked by a religion its wrong to question the views of its followers. And third the use of anti gay slurs was the final draw for me.
Mr Tard said no homo in reference to wanting people to know he wasnt gay. He could have easily said I'm not gay and no offense made. Instead he chose to say no homo which is considered by many of us gays to be an offensive term.
Personally I watched them for a few weeks and eventually got tired of their idiotic behavior. There were a truck load of things they said or do that I found offensive as a person. They really need to stop using Tard since they are mocking mentally disabled folks.
I agree with you Jay. I think that people that say "no homo" are scared of being seen as gay even if they purport to say they support the gay community. I'm not gay and I feel what you are saying. Especially when rappers say the same thing in their songs. I don't know why they feel the need.
@depfox how is that ignorant or homophobic? i'ts like you saying "i love you" to a woman and saying 'no straight' you wont see others calling you heterophobic. If someone says no homo, theyre just saying theyre not gay, in what way is that homophobic... i didn't know you couldn't state your sexuality these days...
@9848674445 It's homophobic (though I wish there were a slightly less strong word for it, as it equates all feelings of homophobia with some of the worst) because why would you even have to say that? Why would you need to clarify? It's a phrase that demonstrates the fear one has of being labeled gay, simply by expressing emotions. If people (in this case, men) could have societal approval to express sincere emotion without being categorized as "a pussy" or "gay" then "no homo" wouldn't exist.
@depfox The INTENT to cause emotional distress is where whether the person is homophobic or not plays into it. I say no homo and call my friends faggots, and I am bisexual. They are not. It's just terms used simply to be used, like "Oh my god" even when you are an theist. I wouldn't know if shay is homophobic or not since I cannot read minds, but using "no homo" as a basis to think he might be is just silly. As for the removal of the video, that does seem odd, but might have another explanation.
@depfox as for the mormon thing, that's like accusing all people from a religion homophobic simply because some parts of said religion are homophobic. Yes I think religion is evil and we would be way better off without it, but the people following it aren't always extremists.
@TurismoCoyote I agree a 100% that you shouldnt put all people in the same bucket because of their religion race sexuality we are all different that being said the Mormon church is a Homophobic religion and they demand 100% alligence to their faith so I stand by what I said.
Well with a great name like Shay"tards" should have been the first hint they weren't great people. I don't believe that he truly enjoys wearing unitards... I think it's an excuse he made up after recieving flack for poking fun at folks with a problem.
I've been watching both of your channels for ages. The Shaytards are not homophobic!I wouldn't watch them if they were. I love your channel but I feel that your a bit over sensitive. You're just watching ps and qs too closely. They mean no harm.
I am not sure this statement should be interpreted to mean that ST is anti-homosexual, even if it was in earnest, not jest, it seems to only indicate a wish for others not to interpret the act as indicating he himself is a HS. ie that it meant "this act was not a display of homosexual affection" rather than "No to homosexuals". I suspect you may be reading a bit to much into it by interpreting it as indicative of anti-HS sentiments.
I think what it comes down to is DESPITE the Shaytards' devout religious beliefs they are still willing to lovingly commune with homosexuals and are comfortable enough to allow their children to do so. That says a lot about their core character in my opinion. Nothing is going to change their devout religious beliefs and nor should anything! People are allowed to believe that they wish. What matters is how they treat others and I've only seen Shay treat his gay friends with love and respect.
I don't think Shay has much of an inner monologue - which is why he's such a talented vlogger. I'm sure he didn't mean to offend you, and you've got to remember it is his EVERYDAY life - people say things offhandedly.
I had a problem with his 'happiness is a choice' mantra for a while, but then I realised I was taking it way too seriously. I'm not assuming he's pro gay-rights, but just as he respects the gay community, though his religion may dictate it's wrong, we have to accept his beliefs.
You know, I have been following Shays videos for two years now and I still can't figure him out. On one hand, he has gay friends, a gay intern, gets a kick outta kissing his male brothers and other random males, and seems open-minded. On the other hand, he's Mormon and I've heard his son make homophobic comments in the vlogs. I've always wondered if Shay was just too good to be true.
The other thing that sat wrong with me is that I think the fact they they have gay friends and employees IS important. My mom is a lesbian and LGBTQ rights are very important to me. But I also know that picking battles is important. Saying "no homo" and "that's so gay" are harmful. But they're also commonly used. People use homophobic terms without understanding their harmfulness. Actions speak louder than words, in my opinion. It IS meaningful that Shay has gay friends.
I don't think it was fair of you to act like the shaytards are somehow trying to "hide" their Mormanism - they actually do talk about it all the time. And you say that being mormon doesn't automatically make you homophobic but then you don't explain why saying that they're mormon is relevant. I absolutely support what you said about "no Homo". I know the mormon church is terrible about LGBTQ rights. But it seemed kind of harsh to me to point out their Mormonism like we should judge them for it
Shay's Channels are a business and your video doesn't fit with their Children friendly and Christian fan base demographics, many whom believe "Gay" is immoral. I'm a former fan of Shay, so I know your video would rock the boat and is in conflict with his own spiritual beliefs. Shay "Tolerates" to a certain level, but he is not that open. His channel reminds me of the old fashioned Disney G rated stuff I used to see as a child. No Sexuality or religion is mentioned. BTW Love your channel! :)
Kinda disappointing, but i knew somethin like this would come to my attention eventually considerin they are mormon, even if they dnt mention it. Makes me really sad that shay done that to you guys. Makes me feel like s**t actually. I absolutely love the shaytards ever since i saw them back in january and ive watched every one of their vids, no shame. What we see on camera is a small piece of them; we really dont kno what they are teachin their kids behind the cam, but i hope its not homophobia.
HEY SO ME and My GIrlfriend have a new YOUTUBE channel we are doing a lesbian spoof of a video Shaycarl made and are posting it on his video. WE will see if it gets removed
oops...is Mormon. Seriously Shay (even though I don't follow him) seems to be one of the most friendly guys..Katilette said no homo first he was just repeating her.. women are never in on slang.. trust me I say stuff all the time my bro. is like "you can't say that" :) just my opinion.
I think some homosexual people think "no homo" is offensive, and some don't think it is offensive. I live in the south and am white my brother is best friends with a black boy and they are always say "sup nig" even though I would never say that because I assume it is offensive to black people- all his friends love him and don't think anything of it..so if another kid said it..they may be offended because they don't know them. Shay is harmless- the only reason why it is an issue is b/c he
oh man i think shay pulled one of my videos off his channel.. oh and he wont reply to me because he has 1 million subscribers... oh shay said no homo as a joke... get over it you have no real evidence. you dont have to subscribe to him thats fine. i dont think its fair that you would make an assumption like that when you dont know the guy and you have very little evidence.
no homo was probably used because he is a man who loves woman. A high percentage of man who love woman will see you as what they call Gay or Homo. He obviously doesn't want to be kn-owed as a homo or gay, and there is nothing wrong with that. It is true that many man are married or love other man but doesn't want to accept that, but that doesn't mean every person like shaytard is that way.
I'd have to agree to some of the thing's you said, I never liked his chanel and never will... His family calls them self tards... and I agree that they are tards... There's nothing interesting about there Chanel to me, but that's my opinion. It just annoys the hell out of me when I can't see the other top rated chanel or views or commenting when there video pops all over my screen otherwise i don't mind there Chanel being up...
you know, i believe shay just doesn't care whether people are gay or straight. if you actually watched, mommytard and shay are very open to most people. when people say or does things the way they do, mommytard and shay says there are reasons why they do what they do and we shouldn't quickly assume and judge them. so please don't be mad at the shay or assume anything. whether the shaytards are mormon - they are good people!
I'm a little mixed up... I am gay, and while I was in high school... i graduated a few months ago... I would say "no homo" when I'm talking to a friend... like I would say, "I love you... no homo" like I didn't see it as offensive... I just wanted him to know that I wasn't hitting on him but just being friendly. And I don't see a problem with it.
Its so stupid that we live in a world where we have to declare "No Homo" when we want to express our feeling for someone of the same sex just to be clear that we are not homosexual. It makes it seem like being a homosexual is still not acceptable. Has nobody learnt anything from Waynes World?!?! And I love you. Because I've learned that Platonic love CAN exist between two grown men.
For equaliy halfway; if anything we should be fighting to get rid of it all the way not just getting half our rights we ned our rights as well as our respect just like every other community is expecting it we should as well
By that the "No-Homo" thing doesnt affect me but like i said im not going to tolerate someone disrespecting me in any way if they want full respect as well
One removing the video is his personal choice it is HIS channel so he has the right to do whatever he wants to do BUT not giving a reason to anyone why thats what gets to me. I am subscribed to him but now he will loose me as a subscriber. Will it make a difference to him? Probably not and it wont affect me either
The "No-Homo" scenerio i believe thats stupid for the reason that we are fighting for equality and if we keep using these terms we are fighting
Yeah I think Shay was just saying "No homo" cause he didn't want people to think he wasn't straight. I don't think he is discriminating against gay people at all. Deep down everyone wants people to know what sexual orientation they are, whether gay straight etc. and I believe that is all it was.
I don't like the Shaytards but I think you're just being a oversensitive bitch. I would call you a faggot, but I know you're really sensitive and you would just think I was OPPRESSING HOMOSEXUALS WORLDWIDE. Well guess what, I'm homosexual.
@YourGayNews but thats the thing. the shaytards arent homophobic, and they dont act homophobic in their videos! Youve never watched them so you wouldnt know.Just because jay came to opinion about someone, you decide that hes right, without even knowing them, or watching their videos. I love the Shaytards, and i love GFV. Shay makes a joke with his gay friends, and all of sudden hes the bad guy...
People, it's their life. If the shaytards choose not to talk about it, then who are we to say anything and judge?
And people, atleast the younger generation, say "no homo" and "that's gay" jokingly. No one takes it seriously. Like gays who say "no hetero". We don't take it to heart. It's a joke among younger adolescents. People who find it offensive don't know how to take a joke.
Although, taking down your video was wrong. But you shouldn't hate them just cus they are mormon. Just saying.
@ilyLisy im part of that younger generation, and when people at my school say no homo and thats gay, it really offends me. im not gay, but i would never say such things. the people who say that may say it 'jokingly' but they mean it when they say it. they mean that theyre not trying to act gay, or be gay (like theres something wrong with that?) or they say 'thats gay' to describe something weird or strange.
@aquamarine705 What about when people say "That's retarted"? Some people find it offensive because it offends special needs kids. But I bet you have used it more than once. We all have. This is just 21st century slang and everyone needs to lighten up.
@ilyLisy actually i dont use thats retarded because it makes people sound ignorant when they use words like that. my cousin is special needs and my parents would kill me if i ever said anything like that, and i would probably kill myself cause i love my cousin. just because its slang doesnt mean we have to use it.
@aquamarine705 You don't have to use slang if you don't want to. I never said you were forced. But people are going to use it regardless. And I bet you have used that term, don't lie. Maybe in school, or at work, or with friends, but you have used it. Everyone has.
@ilyLisy how would you know what words i have and have not used? not everyone is the same, and not everyone feels the need to use certain words. i know i have never said that phrase, thats not a lie.
I hate when people say "no homo" too. You don't have to say "no homo" to register the fact that you're not gay, people can tell you're joking when you say "I love you" by your tone of voice.
It's Interesting being in both these worlds. I was raised a Mormon but I am also Gay. I'm 18 years old and I was excommunicated because I am in an openly gay relationship and refuse to break up with my boyfriend. It's very hard when you believe in your church/religion and it doesn't believe in you. I've been thinking of making a video to clear up misunderstandings gay people have on the Lds church and what Lds people do not understand about gay people since I have both perspectives. Should I?
@TheCobaltEyes Im not morman, but I am gay and I would be interested in hearing both sides perspective from someone like you...I think u should make the vid and if you do please let me know. Id def want to watch,
Hey. Peace & Respect!

So shut the fuck up about it!!
lasoogneypubes 1 week ago
@lasoogneypubes No...It means that you are an insecure little boy who wants to be a man but is scared if he does anything that his friends may be perceived as gay...he has to have a witty response to cover his insecurities.
depfox 1 week ago
@depfox Haha awww are you mad? Nobody's making these jokes when gay people are around. I don't see anything wrong with joking as long as you're not hurting anybody's feelings. I wouldn't make gay jokes in front of gay people 'cause that wouldn't be very nice. I have no exceptions to joking about anything if it's race, sex or making fun of myself. I don't think anything is off limits unless you're hurting someone's feelings. And a joke is not to be taken seriously. You don't really mean it.
lasoogneypubes 6 days ago
@lasoogneypubes I agree that jokes can be harmless in context if you watched my video you would understand why I feel the way I do about shaytards as for making jokes around friends who you think are straight you would be surprised who is gay that you don't even know and jokes like No Homo and that's gay are the reasons a friend of yours may stay int he closet because they perceive you as homophobic.
depfox 6 days ago
@lasoogneypubes being thoughtless in your derision, even if insincere, is still derision. yes people make these 'jokes' around their chosen targets all the time, mebbe not in your circle-that you know- but it still happens and it still makes people feel less, more so because it is so casual.
steeldrago73 5 days ago
@steeldrago73 I think any kind of joke is fine as long as you're not deeply offending anybody. I wouldn't make gay jokes in front of gays, black jokes in front of blacks, asian jokes in front of asians etc. Unless they think it's funny and want to throw some white jokes back at me. I'm cool with that. I don't see gays as any less than me or anybody else, and I joke about any and everything. Nothing is sacred. Not even myself.

steeldrago73 5 days ago
@steeldrago73 No it's not. If you're a big blubbering vagina than yeah.. A joke is not meant to be taken seriously. When I joke about gay people I don't really mean what I say, it's just a joke. I wouldn't say it to a gay person because from what I've seen they're extremely hyper sensitive about any kind of gay jokes or slurs.
lasoogneypubes 5 days ago
Come on now, that's just political correctness gone mad. 'No homo' is simply stating that no homosexual intent is meant.
ronfan69 2 weeks ago
@ronfan69 He is referring people that are sincerely think less of gay people and are in favor of discrimination on that basis. Imagine if white people were saying no black after every fist bump, it implies that being black is undesirable.
I understand 'No homo' at times is simply stating no sexual overtones are implied.
iMaDeMoN2012 2 weeks ago
@iMaDeMoN2012 Being gay IS undesirable. Men value their masculinity and no amount of liberal-fascist shaming will change that. It's abnormal to want to love and have sex with another man. That does not mean we should treat those who do as lesser humans. "No homo" (as a general term and in the context Shaycarl used it) has no malicious discriminatory intent WHATSOEVER.
ronfan69 2 weeks ago
@ronfan69 I don't consider myself less masculine as the fascists stereotype me to be. If fact I think I am more masculine than most of the male population.
No homo is inherently derived from a fear of being perceived as gay because of fascist stereotyping and disapproval.
iMaDeMoN2012 1 week ago
@iMaDeMoN2012 No homo doesn't come from a fear of being perceived as gay. I'm straight and 100% convinced that I'm not gay and I say "no homo" sometimes. I have nothing against gay people and I'm not afraid of them. People like you get offended and use homophobe as a way of insulting the person you were offended by. If I made retard jokes would that make me afraid of retards? Stop saying homophobe, it's really stupid and inaccurate. Just call people ignorant if you have to.
lasoogneypubes 1 week ago
@lasoogneypubes What if you instead said to your friend,"hey brother you know I love you, very homo." Now that would be funny.
And in context, shaytards no homo comments, his moron family and the deleting of depfox's love story video is clear evidence of homophobia as I defined it in an earlier post.
Correction: Retelling tired retard jokes would make you afraid of being perceived as stupid, not afraid of retards. The fact that you don't understand that tells me you are stupid.
iMaDeMoN2012 6 days ago
@iMaDeMoN2012 Actually I do joke around with my friends like that. More often than not we pretend to be hitting on each other or something as a joke. I hardly ever make jokes at gay people's expense. So any kind of negative joke implies that you're afraid of whatever it is you're making fun of? That's a bunch of tired untrue bullshit that offended people spout to make themselves feel better. A joke is a joke. Get over yourself.

I hope in time they change your mind :)
mattyboyyyy1 1 month ago
You're judgement of the Shaytards is based on very limited and speculative information. Maybe the term 'no homo' is politically incorrect to some. Is it really different than a gay man joking when he has an interaction with a woman that nothing can come of it because he is gay? And nearly all christian religions are homophobic in some capacity. So to assume that they may be homophobic because of their religion is a rather naive.

The Shaytards make great videos with an inspiring message. They have never done anything to hurt you. That "no homo" was probably taken completely out of context.

I know that given our current and past presidents, the freedom of speech is taken lightly. Arguing whether or not Shayarl is "homophobic" is so silly. If you don't want homosexuals being labeled in such broad terms, then you shouldn't be labeling non-homosexuals in the same manner.
thehomelessguy 2 months ago
No homo is not homophobic its just exactly what it says. Someone can see what your doing and assume its gay. Your not gay and don't want to be viewed as gay so one states no homo to clear that up. when someone assumes no homo is bad it's like saying I'm not gay and meaning it as "I'm not gay so obviously gay is evil". By the way being PC is awful if I want to use a word it's my right here in America get over it. And if you want to get gay married move its pretty easy to do I've moved 9 times.

When you support those organizations, you also support their activities. I don't support crazy. I support reason and sanity

The phrase "no homo" is often used as a way of saying "without sexual intentions" whenever two guys do something together. It's not said as a serious thing, it's just a minor joke.
UnidentifiedRob 3 months ago 14
@UnidentifiedRob I'm not gay but, even minor jokes have a large effect, the term "no homo" is a representation of society's disapproval of gays, if it were not, it would say, "not sexually" or something along those lines, and honestly, wouldn't your friend know it wasn't homo if you touched him on arm (just an example). The term is by definition homophobic, not because it is saying that "i am not homosexual" it is that you are stressing that you are not b/c gays are ridiculed and "feminine"

That said, I wouldn't go as far as to call them homophobic, largely because they work very closely with BrettTheIntern unless that is an elaborate cover-up, which I find very unlikely. They seem like genuine people but I can't see them being thrilled if one of their sons was gay.

I have little doubt that Shay is extremely conservative and chooses not to reveal his bigotry to the world wide web, its not good for business.
That said, I think he is probably a little 'curious;' he really seemed to enjoy that colongic.

@DjSammySamosa If you had watched the video I give Three reasons not just one...You might want to watch b4 you go on the attack also I didnt say he was I gave reasons why he might be.
depfox 4 months ago
@depfox i'm sorry if you felt like my comment was an attack against you and yes i did watch your video in full before commenting but youtube only gives you so much room to write. the other 2 reasons were your video getting shot down and the fact that they were morman? isn't basing someone on their religion just as wrong as basing someone on their sexual orientation? I'm not trying to sway you back to watching their videos i just wanted to express my feelings just like you did in making this vid.
DjSammySamosa 4 months ago
@DjSammySamosa First reason was I was a fan and when they asked their fans to post a video of how they met their special someone...I did and they removed it. 2nd the Mormon church has declared war on LGBT people...Its not that just dislike us but they are going state by state to pass laws against our families. So no I dont feel when you are being attacked by a religion its wrong to question the views of its followers. And third the use of anti gay slurs was the final draw for me.
depfox 4 months ago

Saying no homo isn't homophobic....
spo666tty 4 months ago
@spo666tty you should say in your opinion...I am Gay and find it very ignorent and Homophobic
depfox 4 months ago
@depfox how is that ignorant or homophobic? i'ts like you saying "i love you" to a woman and saying 'no straight' you wont see others calling you heterophobic. If someone says no homo, theyre just saying theyre not gay, in what way is that homophobic... i didn't know you couldn't state your sexuality these days...
9848674445 4 months ago 3
@9848674445 It's homophobic (though I wish there were a slightly less strong word for it, as it equates all feelings of homophobia with some of the worst) because why would you even have to say that? Why would you need to clarify? It's a phrase that demonstrates the fear one has of being labeled gay, simply by expressing emotions. If people (in this case, men) could have societal approval to express sincere emotion without being categorized as "a pussy" or "gay" then "no homo" wouldn't exist.
SophieJKL 4 months ago 2
@depfox why..
spo666tty 4 months ago
@depfox The INTENT to cause emotional distress is where whether the person is homophobic or not plays into it. I say no homo and call my friends faggots, and I am bisexual. They are not. It's just terms used simply to be used, like "Oh my god" even when you are an theist. I wouldn't know if shay is homophobic or not since I cannot read minds, but using "no homo" as a basis to think he might be is just silly. As for the removal of the video, that does seem odd, but might have another explanation.
TurismoCoyote 3 months ago
@depfox as for the mormon thing, that's like accusing all people from a religion homophobic simply because some parts of said religion are homophobic. Yes I think religion is evil and we would be way better off without it, but the people following it aren't always extremists.
TurismoCoyote 3 months ago
@TurismoCoyote I agree a 100% that you shouldnt put all people in the same bucket because of their religion race sexuality we are all different that being said the Mormon church is a Homophobic religion and they demand 100% alligence to their faith so I stand by what I said.

KaloAngelTV 5 months ago
I think what it comes down to is DESPITE the Shaytards' devout religious beliefs they are still willing to lovingly commune with homosexuals and are comfortable enough to allow their children to do so. That says a lot about their core character in my opinion. Nothing is going to change their devout religious beliefs and nor should anything! People are allowed to believe that they wish. What matters is how they treat others and I've only seen Shay treat his gay friends with love and respect.

only reason why shay doesnt brag about being mormon is because we dont have too unless were on our mission of course haha

oops...is Mormon. Seriously Shay (even though I don't follow him) seems to be one of the most friendly guys..Katilette said no homo first he was just repeating her.. women are never in on slang.. trust me I say stuff all the time my bro. is like "you can't say that" :) just my opinion.
TheGreenAppleHome 6 months ago

For equaliy halfway; if anything we should be fighting to get rid of it all the way not just getting half our rights we ned our rights as well as our respect just like every other community is expecting it we should as well
By that the "No-Homo" thing doesnt affect me but like i said im not going to tolerate someone disrespecting me in any way if they want full respect as well
An eye for an eye in my opinion
MrFireyIce 6 months ago
Honestly i agree with you all the way
One removing the video is his personal choice it is HIS channel so he has the right to do whatever he wants to do BUT not giving a reason to anyone why thats what gets to me. I am subscribed to him but now he will loose me as a subscriber. Will it make a difference to him? Probably not and it wont affect me either
The "No-Homo" scenerio i believe thats stupid for the reason that we are fighting for equality and if we keep using these terms we are fighting

ninjaninja246 6 months ago

Shay makes a joke with his gay friends, and all of sudden hes the bad guy...
aquamarine705 6 months ago
Love the Shaytards but it's an interesting video! I understand why you felt the need to make it.
NewYorkHunter 6 months ago
People, it's their life. If the shaytards choose not to talk about it, then who are we to say anything and judge?
And people, atleast the younger generation, say "no homo" and "that's gay" jokingly. No one takes it seriously. Like gays who say "no hetero". We don't take it to heart. It's a joke among younger adolescents. People who find it offensive don't know how to take a joke.
Although, taking down your video was wrong. But you shouldn't hate them just cus they are mormon. Just saying.
ilyLisy 6 months ago
@ilyLisy im part of that younger generation, and when people at my school say no homo and thats gay, it really offends me. im not gay, but i would never say such things. the people who say that may say it 'jokingly' but they mean it when they say it. they mean that theyre not trying to act gay, or be gay (like theres something wrong with that?) or they say 'thats gay' to describe something weird or strange.
aquamarine705 6 months ago
@aquamarine705 What about when people say "That's retarted"? Some people find it offensive because it offends special needs kids. But I bet you have used it more than once. We all have. This is just 21st century slang and everyone needs to lighten up.
ilyLisy 6 months ago
@ilyLisy actually i dont use thats retarded because it makes people sound ignorant when they use words like that. my cousin is special needs and my parents would kill me if i ever said anything like that, and i would probably kill myself cause i love my cousin. just because its slang doesnt mean we have to use it.
aquamarine705 6 months ago
@aquamarine705 You don't have to use slang if you don't want to. I never said you were forced. But people are going to use it regardless. And I bet you have used that term, don't lie. Maybe in school, or at work, or with friends, but you have used it. Everyone has.
ilyLisy 6 months ago
@ilyLisy how would you know what words i have and have not used? not everyone is the same, and not everyone feels the need to use certain words. i know i have never said that phrase, thats not a lie.
aquamarine705 6 months ago
@aquamarine705 Okay.

Should I?
