  • fuck, it´s a alien guitar

  • still awesome

  • I think this thing is freakin sick

  • In his interviews the first thing he says is "this is not ment to replace guitars it's for guitarist who wish to control synthesizers" I'm in a metal band and am getting one of these to play anything want which is the point of this instrument. Doing whatever you want : )

  • yeah this would be good in rock and metal, combined with real guitars, theres alot of potential of expanding currnt genres or making new ones!

  • Am I the only one who thinks this will make live electronic production finally exciting to watch? I know that's not what it's about, but this would be really cool to see mixed into a live set.

  • That's kinda nifty. I play an actual guitar, and I still find this to be pretty cool. It'd be nice to experiment with more types of music to play, and such. I've always wanted to get into synth music.

  • I'm a guitar player and I think it's pretty cool. Threatening? lol nah

  • how did you get this misa guitar?online?

  • This is going to be the weapon for the next generation of little Daft Punks...

  • the problem is everyone who thinks this is a guitar.. its a synth, with guitar-like structure and form. Its intended so that you have more direct fluid control over what is played. Its primarily as a better interface for synth players wanting to PLAY more, and also for guitarists wanting to break beyond the classic.

  • please make some full lengh song with this guitart!

you are really good with it!

  • Okay guys, if you actually think this is going to change the real guitar you're wrong! I think that this would be a great tool for techno bands, and maybe even metal bands because this will save you a $!@# load of money from buying all those pedals and amps. I salute the maker of this. If you don't want to change, don't. But don't chain down the people who want to. This also shows who can be a good bass player because I've tried a demo and it makes your fingers sore after a while of playing.

  • 3/6 the best here

  • Im not hatin, but this is a fuckin bollox. Do you really want to have more useless gadets at home ? Computer will do this stuff perfectly without you looking like a complete fuckin retard.

  • that's a DIGITAL GUITAR not a REAL GUITAR

  • I'm afraid about the future of the REAL guitars...

  • @Deceptikon121212 You shouldn't be. I play guitar, but that doesn't mean synthesizers aren't fun. People seem to be confused that his is intended to replace the guitar. It's not. The interface is just confusing yo.

  • The FUTURE!

  • sega

  • next generation guitar hero controller : D

  • sagia

  • where did u get the guitar an make a full random son out of ur head a it will be in a song of mine

  • Ouch!! More like NotSoSweetwater. $1099.00 to buy and have shiped to my home? Hope you sell a bunch of these and the price goes down a bit to an afordable price.

  • that shit looks like it would take some practice getting good at

  • The showing of this the guy said this is NOT a replacement for the guitar, it is a synth for guitarist that want to play synth

  • haha dont worry guitar players! this is for the electro house producers to try, not the metal heads and rockers! this wont be the future of electric guitars, just the future of synthesizers :D

  • @pglAymer Good, I'd much rather see someone playin one of these on stage than a dude behind a desk

  • @KrossPoison1 errmm.. ever heard of deadmau5? its much more than that, and i'd much rather see this as more of an experiment used occasionally rather than a replacement, but its still a futuristic instrument none the less (but i know i'll laugh at myself for saying that in another 10 years)

  • @pglAymer I'm a metalhead though, and I'd rather play this than my Ibanez 7-string. XD

  • @CuttingEdgeMetal even tho ive had absolutely 0 experience with guitars and this instrument, i highly recommend it! lol

  • @pglAymer no. this would be good for metal, hahahah screw you!

  • @SwirlyBrokenHearts whatever dude, u go do that. oh and screw u too

  • @pglAymer dude not even synthesizer I prefer a roland instead this and of course metal heads like real fuckin guitars, but i like the invention its not that bad

  • @lepalar u got my comment out of context, a ton of guitarists were freaking out over how "crappy" this was (as u can see my comment was posted something like 3 weeks ago) so yes obviously they do. and if u prefer a roland over this, i dont understand how thats of my intrest, also i doubt u've even tried this so how could u know, unless u have.. either way i dont really care lol

  • @pglAymer Actually, you can play electric, acoustic, and bass guitar on this. It is not just a synth for house producers.

  • @Aardwoof u didn't get the context in which i wrote that comment.. there were tons of comments of guitar players bashing this because it threatened there "classic methods" or something stupid like that so i got them to shut up.. the nice way :)

  • kinda sounds like music from most games from my Amiga 600 days

  • My favorites were 4/6 and 5/6.

  • play fuckin' normal guitars.

  • do some guitarists actualy feel threatenend by this? this is so cool and so obviously not a guitar.

  • @necarum Of course, it's a toy

  • @necarum Seems like EVERY guitarist I've seen post up about this is threatened by it, or insulted. Such is progress I guess... something new comes along and "purists" will call out heresy.

  • @necarum i play guitar and i actually want this. not to use as a guitar but what its actually made for :P

  • @necarum if the point of playing guitar was to feel threatened, maybe :p

  • @necarum id say the same to anyone with a firebird X

  • The amount of animosity here is ridiculous, this is a MIDI interface controller, NOT a guitar. It is not meant to replace a guitar, or even to sound like a guitar (unless the artist so chooses). I really don't understand why so many guitar players are getting all mad and making comments, Its like me saying that guitar petals are just shitty copies of my AKAIMPC but they suck because they can only do one effect. A guitar and a MIDI controller should NEVER be compared, its like apples VS burritos.

  • my favourite part was beetween 1:09 and 1:14

  • want this.

  • WOOOOW O.O

  • I think I'm seeing where the confusion is coming from.

All of the people who are calling this fake//etc. are probably paying too much attention to the name. It is, after all, a "digital guitar." I think that's a bad choice of words, because it's really not meant to be a guitar at all. Suddenly, all of the haters are making sense here. And, as someone who plays guitar myself (though I'd never claim the title of guitarist; too restrictive), I can actually sort of understand some of the animosity.

  • i cant belive people actually spend money on these fake plastic pieces of crap.

  • @CornyTelecaster49 doesn't seem like a piece of crap to me;it functions alright...doesn't seem fake to me,i see it right in front of me...just because it isn't a "real" guitar doesn't mean it's a piece of crap,it just means it isn't your thing, which is the beautiful thing about music;you have thousands, millions of ways to produce a tone and you can choose what you like.

  • Matt Bellamy wants one of these, I can tell.

  • @Xho3546 I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he uses this at least once on the new album.

  • You guys are fuckin retarded

  • Nice! THose buttons on the neck are frets, right?

  • Wow, I would buy one just to play with it lol

  • whats the name of the song in the third stage?

  • you know i thought this was really cool and i was like i gotta get me one of these so i went to the description and it said purchase a Misa Kitara so as i got to the web site it said it cost $959!!!!!

  • Now it would be neat if they came out with a Kitara that's based on the bass guitar. I'd get that.

  • What's the vst/preset playing on 3/6?

  • How is this video sturing so much shit? Lol i thought it was pretty cool, and it will never take the place of any instrument.

  • this isn't a guitar anymore....

  • but will it blend?

  • 0:22 god the final fantasy 7 memorys just kicked my head of there god sounds like something from ffa 7 :O

  • i beet that thing is expensive D:

  • One of the worst sounds I've ever heard. It's up there with Axel Rose attempting Sweet Child of Mine in a drunken stupor. Either learn how to play guitar or play the fucking keyboard. End of story...

  • i cant play gituar allready so theres NO WAY i could play 1 of these right??

  • CAN YOU SLAP ON IT??

  • 2/6 reminded me of Final Fantasy X. :D

  • @Erag0s indeeed, I also thought of that! =D

  • oh yeah, this is a cool guitar... only if you have $7500 to spend freely; or $25000 if you want to be special..

  • @2seeceegee Hong Kong Dollars. Roughly $950 american.

  • @2seeceegee if you actually observed the website properly its in hong kong dollars so its pretty cheap

  • buy one for me

  • its not a guitar BUT its a damn great immatation and i kinda like it

  • come on you can do this on a keyboard too. please incorporate realistic string bending and sliding, buttons arent the way to go...

  • I prefere the old school guitar =D n.n is more challenging

  • why are people hating? it's just a touch screen synth guitar...

  • i have witnessed the future O_O

    and its awesome :o

  • muito foda mesmo !!, mas isso ai é guitarra pra quem nao sabe

    tocar ! ;)

  • Guys.....If you have over $25,000.00 good look getting the Misa Digital Guitar.

  • I want to play rock/metal not dubstep sorry

  • fuck the second comment

  • I don't get people who are complaining about this. Its not a guitar. It take a different kind of talent to play this thing.

  • And for people who say any 5 year old can play guitar now. WTF.. Noone is going to pick up this thing and know how to play ANYTHING unless they have experience with traditional guitar. Its not guitar hero, its an instrument.

  • Wow why so much negative comments? Obviously it wasnt made to replace the traditional guitar. Its made for people who wanna play synth stuff, I actually think its pretty cool. I mean I wouldnt go out and buy it but it looks really fun to mess around with and explore different sounds. Its basically a synthesizer with a guitar neck.

  • This takes away the fun in actually playing guitar.

  • I think this is really good looking and sounding instrument for some kind of music ...

  • Great now an douche can "play" guitar!!!!

  • Guitar hero just became more difficult

  • do the frets actually work, im a bit confused

  • This is pretty much a synthtar then?

  • Damn Asians and there technology

  • i am saving my money to buy one of these. i only have the use of one hand so i cant pluck strings, this i can make music with

  • oha tam ilhan irem kafası

  • Fuck you !!!

  • OMFG

  • lha kui genjrengan raiso no og.. :bingungs

  • This is like a...Pendulum guitar? :D

  • what the fuck did i just witness??? Im going to go play my real guitar.

  • wah uda dirilis di indonesia lum niw gitar??

  • Let's see some tapping. Then I'll acknowlege it for an instrument.

  • @TheAjohta It HAS tapping functions (screen goes red and such), its prerry amazing.

  • @TheAjohta the misa digital guitar does include a finger-tapping option, so you're set for life :D

  • If I had a synthesiser I could control with this thing, mine would be on the way already!

  • I already have spider webs on my electric so don't think i'm interested ;)

  • It's like an guitar version of the keyboard.

  • I think you deleted the post where you said i could have this for free?

  • I could never play this.

I strum on the neck of my guitar.

  • I want to have one!

  • Where can i get one?!

  • the last one sounded like if it was from halo

  • sounds more like a piano to me

  • the real guitar is more kooler

  • man i dont pay 1.000 dolar for that xD

  • nice, but what if you want to tune it to drop d?

  • I like the vintage Doctor Who at 1:11

  • cool!

  • Comment removed

  • @cpsDASH.. And I wholeheartedly agree with you!

  • Comment removed

  • your fingers look like a dick u know that right

  • What's with all the haters? Anyone with any musical talent who is actually interested in pushing themselves to new limits should be jumping all over this, this is a new way to create sound and music. If you any of you guys who hate had any actual experience both playing guitar and working with drum pads, synthesizers, or any equipment that utilizes the computer and/or software to make sound, you'd appreciate this for what it is. Not a replacement of the guitar, a new means of expressing it

  • @TheBabolat91 I wholeheartedly agree. If people just took the time to look, they'd find out that this is in no way a replacement for the guitar. It's a GUITAR-BASED interface for controlling synth stuff. The point was to provide a graceful ALTERNATIVE to all the knobs and pedals usually required for this sort of thing.

And to those who suppose the application of this device is limited... It's exactly that kind of thinking that limits it. Have some faith in human ingenuity...

  • @TheBabolat91 No, we hate it because any stupid 5 years old kid now can play the guitar without learning how... And the real guitarrists learned how and it took hours and hours and hoooourrrs of practice, that why we hate it.

  • @BOSSTOMI2

    Completely false...

As a REAL guitarist, someone who has been dedicated to the instrument since I was 10, I can tell you from personal experience introducing this instrument is by no means substituting traditional means of learning guitar. Your statement is so ignorant, it is clear you have no experience yourself with advanced musical composition. If you were aware of the capabilities of non-traditional musical production, you would appreciate this instrument for what it is.

  • To further my point, you can not simply pick this up and 'be good' at guitar. If you wanted to use this instrument to play a simple song with a three chord progression, you would still need to learn the notes behind the chord, the position on the fretboard where you must place your fingers, as well as the rhythm required to strum or pick the notes. Something more advanced...If I were to play an ascending/descending minor legato solo, I would still need the skill and precision to hit the notes

  • Lastly, these skills do come with extreme dedication and passion for the instrument. A good portion of my middle school years was spent in my room picking the same scales over and over again for hours until it was second nature to me. I'm constantly pushing myself musically, and am always improving myself on the guitar. Someone with less experience on guitar WOULD NOT be able to pick this instrument up and instantly play what I play, that's not how music works.

  • @TheBabolat91 Me+guitar=awesome or Me+guitar+synthesizer=FUCKING AWESOME!

  • @CBBalthazar My man! Keep on rockin bro, glad to see others agree! Let's take guitar AND music to the next level, let's embrace the possibilities rather than fear 'em

  • @TheBabolat91 I've been playing guitar for about 6 years, so it's kinda hard for me to take my mind off of it :D

  • @TheBabolat91 I could just imagine Buckethead with one of these. It looks an awesome piece of kit. If I had an ounce of guitar talent I definitely would like to play with one.

  • It will sound more natural with proper software/firmwares. There's no limit to that anymore.

  • Though its uses are VERY limited, I think it would be fun to tinker around with. But being a metal head, I have to ask this question: Are there 7 and 8 umm string/button variants?

  • @pushcomedy yes!

  • I think it's pretty fuckin' awsome! Fuckin' dumbies! XD!

  • This is kind of stupid and pointless. If you want to play an instrument... Play a real instrument. If you want to make ridiculous techno sounds, get a synthesizer. They can't really even consider this a "guitar"

  • This is madness? THIS IS SHIT!

  • @BiboLesPaul This is sparta !!!

  • Everyone needs to calm the fuck down. This is a synth, not a guitar. Regardless, just ENJOY IT FOR WHAT IT IS. You can't look me in the eye and say this isn't fucking cool.

  • It wouldn't be bad to me if some real artists will use this stuff, I mean imagine what could Pink Floyd have done with this kind of instruments

  • 4/6 was sexy

  • Look, this shit is not fucking guitar hero. It's a synth with a touchpad that's shaped like a guitar. It's a keytar. Those of you who don't like electronica and (insert here)-core, too fucking bad. This shit is for people who like this sort of thing.

  • This is the way to kill M U S I C....

  • @caraibiguitar Ever listened to Pink Floyd? I can see this having potential in the progressive rock/metal field.

Love to see Rudess with this.

  • @N0ahW Rudess was the first person that came to mind when I saw this haha

  • I was expecting some kind of guitar hero shit, but this actually looks kinda cool... I'm not really into techno stuff though, but I could see this instrument getting more popular... but it'll probably be shot down by "original" guitar players from the start.

  • we have Effect pedals for this shit

  • @LotusOfficial This isn't a guitar, it's a powerful synthesizer made to be played as a guitar. This is something completely different, but i think you know that.

  • @LotusOfficial but it's included in one single device with a synth

  • @LotusOfficial Pedals aren't cool...THIS IS FUCKING COOL!

  • @LotusOfficial

You've clearly never used a midi controller before. Typical guitarfag.

Well uhh...you stick to your guitar, and uhh...the rest of us who don't cater to just one instrument will be busy pushing boundaries, experimenting with new methods, and of course, creating those new sounds that your precious pedals give you.

Yes. Creating them. As in making them widely available, for you to just leech up on.

  • @EnDZYm3 Guitarfag? I'm trying to see what great advantage there is to having this type of controller over a regular guitar synth like a Roland. Perhaps a cool little add-on for your stage rig, but this thing is just a toy.

  • @beeroosterm

If you knew what a midi controller was and the potential it opens up, then maybe you wouldn't be so lost.

  • @EnDZYm3 Perhaps I do - and the concept of this thing is still lame...

  • @beeroosterm

If you did, then you wouldn't need the "perhaps."

  • @EnDZYm3 As a musician who utilizes both real instruments AND midi controllers in music production, I can tell you for a fact that people who play real instruments, (as you call them, "____fags"), will always have one advantage over midi whores like yourself. Virtual instruments will ALWAYS fall short of sounding like a real instrument. Much less like a real performance done by a real person. When you need something to sound real, ask for a real musician, n00b.

  • @Zombieslayer5P

The problem with your statement is that you're implying that I'm taking sides.

If you remember, I QUITE clearly said "those of us who don't cater to just one instrument."

You see the keyword there? Instrument. As in, you know, you could've easily concluded that I play more than one, and am not a midi whore, as you just implied. (though, in your defense, I do love me some midi)

  • @EnDZYm3 First off, the way you are commenting to others tells me that you are midi biased (as you have just admitted). Therefore, it tells me that you look down upon people who play real instruments.

Second, I am fully aware that many of today's hits are made solely with digital instruments. That doesn't in and of itself impress me much. It's typically simple rhythms, melodies, and phrasings that can be copied and pasted into sequence. (cont.)

  • @EnDZYm3 There are instrumentalists out there who can make far more intelligent, intricate, and awe inspiring that someone using a midi controller or using their laptop/iPad/iPhone/etc to play and drop different sections of the music. To me, that is about as entertaining as watching someone type up an email or fire off a text. :p It's a real slap in the face when someone slams another for preferring the real thing over a cheesy digital simulation. Now, do you see where I'm coming from?

  • @Zombieslayer5P

You could've said that instead of calling me a musical n00b.

And the way I commented only comes off as midi biased if you're guitar biased. (SEE: guitarfag)

I worded it well enough, implying quite clearly (though nonspecifically), that I play more than one instrument.

Yes, I am a bit of a midiwhore, but I'm not blind. I can see that it has a lot of potential and isn't out to replace the guitar, or even imitate it (Again, why would someone create an imitation guitar?)

  • @EnDZYm3 Um... no. Your comments do not indicate that you are not midi biased. They have an air of midi bias. Have you read your own comments? They sound like you are looking down your nose at people. Plus, I'm not so much biased in favor of the guitar. I'm biased toward a) what works, and b) if it sounds/feels right (which is highly subjective depending on musical tastes and styles). I was simply explaining how midi isn't always the right solution in every situation, albeit bluntly.

  • @Zombieslayer5P

Yes, and that's when I said it's off topic. We're not discussing solutions. We're discussing the hordes of idiots who blindly hate on it, and say shit like "hurrhurr the guitar is better derp."

    THEY AREN'T EVEN COMPARABLE

Aside from the body design, it's nothing like a guitar. NOTHING. Nor was it intended to be.

This is why my comment is at the top. Because enough people understood that.

Now hopefully, there will be less retards commenting.

  • @EnDZYm3 Now that is a fine explanation! Thank you. And yes, I did notice it's nothing like playing a guitar. Maybe somewhat similar, but I can see where some guitarists may have difficulty making the transition. Right hand obviously has to learn new things. Left hand would have a slightly easier time getting to work, since it's kinda like strings on a fret board. The feel of it would be very weird at first though. I'd still be up for the challenge though. You know how much they go for?

  • @Zombieslayer5P

The website lists it around 1,000USD. It's....decent, I guess.

I wouldn't take it over a normal midi keyboard. For that price, I could get a sweet Akai MPK, or one of the Roland Juno models.

The advantage this thing has, though, is the touchpad. It opens up a lot of potential.

If it's anything like the Korg KAOSS pads, then it would be a worthy buy.

I'd get it used though. I don't believe in paying full price for anything that isn't a real instrument. And even then...

  • @EnDZYm3 That is pretty steep. O_o Then again, I could see this becoming a modern equivalent to the keytar. lol Could become a hot item if the right players got a hold of them.

  • @EnDZYm3 And really quick, I totally understand that the misa is not trying to imitate a guitar and is simply a controller. I think it is a magnificent invention and, if it makes you feel better, I WANT ONE!!! *drools*

  • @Zombieslayer5P

Lastly, not everyone WANTS to imitate a real instrument. Do you understand just how many successful songs and genres make use of ZERO actual instruments? Yes, I agree. When you WANT something to sound real, you ask for a musician. But do you think that's very on-topic?

Do you HONESTLY think the misa is even REMOTELY attempting to sound like a real instrument?

Why the hell would anyone create an imitation guitar.....?

  • @EnDZYm3 You sound like a typical dubstep fag, yeah keep convincing yourself that your shitty music is good while we stick to was takes actual talent and not 1000's of dollars worth of equipment.

  • @pikachu7567

What's sad is that you people don't realize how easy you are to disregard.

My comment should only be offensive if you cater to a single instrument. And even then, you have to be really gung-ho and uppity about it, as if your shit doesn't stink.

By attacking me, you're only aligning yourself with the mindless idiots that I was addressing.

Not to mention, I'm not a dubstep fag. Nice assumptions ya got there, though. Can they do any tricks? Like...idk, logic?

  • @EnDZYm3 You were the one coming off as condescending calling that guy a "guitarfag" I was merely mirroring your comment to apply to you. Obviously it didn't but the way you came off made it sound like there was some revolution of music that guitar was totally inferior to and behind.
