  • @dooooooer you can have a heart attack anytime of the day, maybe just stress who knows,it was just a sad loss that it had to be him

  • @baphomet58 This is the third vid you've posted this in...You really got no life man. I'm gonna report you to Youtube for spam. Faggot go die somewhere.

    R.I.P. Shawn Tompkins

  • @meelodmmm

I don't understand alot of these fucking faggots on youtube..

    RIP

  • @XcessiveZ The internet gave them a voice...A fucking retarded voice but a voice none the less...

  • WHAT ABOUT BETWEEN FINGERS?

  • what's the difference between classic handwraps and mexican style handwraps?

  • @mourmajoual Mexican wraps are little bit elastic traditional wraps are straight cloth, i.e. no stretch

  • The logo is neo-fascist like. LOL

  • interesting that he's talking mma but doing a boxing wrap. not a criticism, just saying.

  • @gavin32 It's because most MMA stand-up training uses boxing/muay thai gloves. MMA gloves just don't have the support or protection needed to safely train. Too much risk of injury for the fighter and his training partners. The "boxing" wrap is used because it's simpler. You don't need to worry about keeping the palm open, so no crazy loop-backs are needed.

  • Thanks for posting vid.

  • this wrap is for mma gloves only so good job man

i wouldn't do that for muaythai training tho

  • I don't like the elastic wraps. I never feel like I've got enough support using them.

  • i wrapped my hands just like this and it wuz really good the best so far

  • hang on. aren't you supposed to wrap some in between the fingers a few times to lock the wraps in, and really harden the first? thats how i was told to do it, and all the other 'how to' vids on hand wraps also said to do that.....strange....

  • @REDSAMURAI307 There is more than 1 way to wrap your hands. If you don't feel good in that wrapping just try another one. I use my own patern for my wrap and i feel great in it. No between fingers.

  • just not the right way....far away from it...

  • do i need handwraps for open mma gloves? because when i tried it it became very tight.

  • @ericeric05able the wraps help protect your knuckles from swelling and your wrist from twisting. You get used to how tight it is over time.

  • he forgot to wrap between the fingers

  • American stand up sucks. Fairtex son.

  • Fairtex is great but ASU gear is pretty damn good bud.

  • shawn, can you tell me why you don't wrap through the fingers?

    thanks

  • if i may, i dont wrap my fingers cause i use mma gloves to hit the bag (primetime combat pad gloves)..and when you wrap the fingers the individual fingers on the glove are tight if theres wrap between the glove and the space between your fingers

  • thats muay thai

  • Because its unnecessary...

  • Don't all wraps have elasticity?

  • I know the century 120" ones don't that's why I'm going to get a few pairs of fairtex and american stand-ups

  • When someone does a vid like this...I would like to see a pair of contest gloves laced on at the end.

  • Why? Most, if not all SACs require you to wrap with gauze or tape in competition.

  • his method looks like it gives a fair bit of support to the thumb, which is really important to me coz i wrenched my thumb back in sparing years ago and it never recovered. looks like it also frees up his palms a fair bit too for the grabbing.

  • a boxer would win a boxing match and mixed martial artist would win a mma match. i really do wish martial artists (boxing included) could all get over ourselves.

  • yeah i agree

  • I wouldn't question Tompkins method on wrapping hands. He is one of the most sought after "hand wrappers" in MMA. Guys from other camps seek him out at events to wrap their hands, that speaks volumes!

  • 92mccumby you are a fucking idiot. an mma fighter would fucking wreck any boxer on any given day. boxers are so singular they have thick padded gloves and only can throw punches. mma fighters are trained in many disciplines "mixed martial arts" and only have their fists covered with a thin layer of leather. i seriously wana knock you out with a head kick right now and jus put you to sleep. dumbass

  • haha your fucking ignorant. im only a buck 25 and have been training in the sport of mma for 3 years and i'd tap any boxer out

  • yeah thats so true but im sure any good boxer would knock you out to. its two hole different games but in a fight i think and mma fighter would take a boxer down easly and pound him out or tap him

  • ya if i boxed a real good boxer id be screwed lol

  • It's weird how it's such a violent sport but so much of the training and preparations involve the coaches mothering and nurturing the fighters.

  • @region1111 I'm starting my journey as an amatuer and through the guys I train with Its became abundantly clear that the sport is all about the fighter's health. We get examined before the fight, and after, and then get handed suspension periods of time to heal up before we can start training again. Good coaches know how to push a fighter gradually through their boundaries and to not over-train or injure them.

  • @region1111 not too weird. every nfl team has a doctor on the payroll.

  • if you have mma gloves on you don't always have to go between the fingers because the glove goes between the fingers and will help hold your wrap in place if they are tight enough

  • @gilbert253

Wrap between fingers to protect the webbing of your hand from the leather of the glove

  • @gilbert253 if you wrap between the fingers your mma gloves wont eat the skin off your knuckles so much

  • between the fingers?

  • i found that a boxing handwrap is quite constricting when clinching or grappling and prevents finger mobility. how do you overcome that ?

  • how long are the wraps?

  • 180 inches

  • hmmm souldnt you do in between fingers also? most videos ive seen do that

  • i originally thought the same, though he did cover the knuckle with a high horizontal wrap several times, the knuckle has enough protection. only problem is it would unravel over the fingers pretty quickly...

  • yea i was thinking the same thing shouldn't he have gone thru the fingers at least once?

  • are you stupid?

  • u gay
