Holyfield TKO in the 8th round. Knocked down Botha, then finished him off. Botha extended the fight with ruiz like holding tactics..but then he got tired, Holy turned it on and that was that.
I agree with fBOli that Holyfield would have a tough time beating anybody on that list of fighters, but he has the wrong attitude. I look at things with the glass half full, instead of half empty. Nobody has yet bombed Holyfield out, they all run from him. Let him fight. IN a mythical matchup with David Haye, I even see him pot shoting to a boring UD, AND he doesn't overwhelm with a fast pace. BTW, that dredful fighter iwas a champion
the best fights in the heavyweights are adamek v haye. or the ukraines boys vs either one of them. adamek and haye would be the best match up in years.
@trainermarty What, to watch a shell of Evander fight a shell of Francois Botha, who was pretty shit in the first place? Waste your $30 then, there won't be many of you - I'm a big fan of Evander Holyfield, but he is completely finished as a fighter.
@fBOli why should he retire, age shouldnt matter in these decisions, recent history should matter, his last fight was against a heavyweight champ (valuev) , he went 12 rounds with him, he looked good, and most people think he should have won, there was nothing wrong with him in that fight so theres no reason to retire, IMO he's still the 4th best heavyweight in the world behind the klitschko's and haye
@MrPresident2032 why should he retire? Because he's about 12 years past his best, hasn't looked really good since before the first Lennox Lewis fight and has nothing left to do in boxing: his legacy was secured after he beat Tyson the 1st time. This is a nearly 48 year old man we're talking about. He's won a meagre four fights since Toney battered him to shits, and should have lost the fight to Fres Oquendo. And he didn't look good against Valuev, he merely looked better than a dreadful fighter.
@fBOli your right, but the heavyweight division is so bad these days even this 48 year old version of holyfield can probably beat every fighter in the division except for 3 guys, so if he can still fight competively against most guys, if he passes the medical tests then he has every right to fight, and it could be a money thing, maybe he needs the cash?
@MrPresident2032 there is not a chance Evander beats any of those fighters i listed below. not even a chance. i'm sorry to tell you but that's the way it is
@fBOli . "And he didn't look good against Valuev, he merely looked better than a dreadful fighter." ........ he looked about as good as when Haye did it a year later, and look at all the hype Haye's getting.
@JoeFraze Haye's hype was generated because of a fickle British audience that bought into the idea of him being a 'world champion'. No one really lauded his performance against Valuev: it was a similarly rotten fight, the only difference being that he stunned the giant at the end to secure the fight in people's memories. Haye, however, is renowned as an exciting fighter, as he showed against Ruiz, and in his fights against EnzoMac and Mormeck in recent years. EVANDER'S LOOKED SHIT FOR YEARS.
@MrPresident2032 and to carry on from that - 4th best heavyweight in the world!? you must be having a laugh - arreola, adamek, chambers, povetkin, chagaev, peter, thompson, dimitrenko, sexton, boytsov, solis, tua, guinn, pulev, ruiz are all better than evander, and i can tell you there's a heck of a lot more fighters to go with them. EVANDER HOLYFIELD WAS BRILLIANT IN THE 80s AND 90s - NOT IN THE 2010s.
@sarahmcmitch Id slap them with my flacid cock then u can lick my balls and apologize after

@tech4156
in your dreams... Holyfield would slap the shit out of you. He's a better boxer and person then you'd ever be. You're the guy that should apologize.
