Easiest way to kill black knight: after I got him to turn and come after me, I ran like hell up the stairs to the left and climbed up the ladder near that guard tower with the archer and it goes to where the 2 firebombers were. So just stand up there and wait for him to get under the rafters. Stand towards the edge and just bombard him with magic attacks. I had firebombs and fire magic. Took about 7 bombs and like 4 or 5 magic. I realized this is a pussy way to do it, but it gets the job done

All you need to do is load up on fire bombs, then run back with him chasing you to where you can climb that ladder up to the platform where there are those three firebomb throwers. He can't climb the ladder, so you can just stay up there and drop bombs on his head until he is dead.

Sorry, thought you were talking about Havel. The black knight can't climb up the ladder to the roof (the way you came from). There you can wait until he is turning to go back and then attack him with firebombs. But this takes much longer than just evading his attacks and hitting him in the right moment.

@mastertoon2 Pretty much the same as for everyone in this game. Watch his animations (use this video for that if you don't want to keep dying) and learn when to dodge and when to block. You can parry his attacks, but it'll take some trial and error to get the timing down. Either that or dodge and backstab, it's really just all about practice.

@mastertoon2 The easiest way is to unequip all of your armor and then make him chase you up the first stair to the point the wall starts on both sides. Then simply jump down and roll over. As he is much more heavier than you he will take critically more damage by falling. Repeat this for about 4 times and he's done.

@Screams0fEvil Yea curses are garbage so you can get curse removals from a female merchant who to get to you go from firelink shrine up the cliffside to the sewer with the one rat to the right and the locked door at the end if you have searched out the lower half of the city you should of unlocked that shortcut and she is right there but it costs 6000 souls or if you go to the church you can get it removed for 3000 i think. But if you are cursed you can fight the ghosts without the transient.

I'm talking about the taller skinny guy that you first meet at the bottom of the stairs. Not the circular stairs, but the other one.

Go to the area with the stairs adjacent to the miniature "sniper" thing where the guy with the crossbow is. Climb them and hit him with fireballs.

All you have to do is lure him to the stairs and throw around 13-14 fireballs at him if you're at a low level. You can throw 12, but you're going to have to jump down on him and slice him.

I did this at maybe his level or lower.

You should definitely buy a short bow from the merchant and a shitload of arrows. I beat the last monster that one shotted you by throwing everything at him from ranged (firebombs, knives, arrows, etc.). He is really worth killing him, he drops 3000 souls and a ring that increases equipment load

You can't kill the Black Knight via exploit. Run up the stairs directly behind the ones that you have to go down to fight the Black Knight (the first set heading towards the Taurus Demon boss fight) and there's a bit that's broken away, if you run up these stairs sticking to your right (to stop falling down) and then immediatly dart left with the Black Knight following you after the gap in the stairs, the Black Knight will fall down them, often killing himself in the process.

Havel will stop chasing you once you go outside that last room where you were fighting him. Lure him to that narrow doorway where the outside staircase goes down and after he strikes attack him and back off. You can easily beat him if you repeat this process. It's slow to kill him this way but it is 100% safe. If you have bombs or magic it will speed things up.

Just keep your shield up and circle his ass, wait for him to put the sword back into its resting place and backstab him. Takes about 4 as a thief lower Lvl to kill him. They aren't that hard, its really a waiting game on a one on one fight.

Just continue to circle the Black Knight with your shield up until you are in an area in which you can backstab him, backstab him and continue this method, do not try to fight him face to face, at least in the beginning.

I killed that knight down the corridor very early and scored his sword...still trying to level up to be able to use it. Get his attention and then run all the way into the stairwell just before the large area with the first archer, with the area next to it that has the 2 guards guarding the shop. The knight couldn't fit in the stairwell so I filled him full of holes. The sword he drops requires 20 str and 18 dex, for me he also dropped a gem.

most special black elite knights such as this one have a certain area they can only go, meaning they cant follow you and they are protecting some thing. Dark knights, Good people you accidentally attack and other nasties will follow you throughout the level until your dead. Although henchmen tend to stay in their own area... thats what ive found out.

I was completely stuck on this fight with my knight - he was just too slow for many of the strategies here. However, I found a trick that made him much easier. Between the bonfire and this guy, there's a roof that has a load of fire-throwers on it. Clear this on the way to him. When you reach the Black Knight, pull him with a bomb, then run back upstairs. Climb the ladder onto that roof you cleared. He will fuss around below. When he turns his back, do a drop attack- then back up the ladder.

@HowcastGaming I found an easy strategy to defeat black knights. In the Undead Burg, go to the bridge, and then shoot the tail of the dragon about 20-30 times. Then you will get this superpowered sword called "Drake Sword". When the black knight attacks, run back up, the to the ladder, wait for the black knight to stop. Then jump, press R1 (PS3), it's a 1 hit K.O. if you do it right. :D

Hope this helps. The first Black knight with sword and shield is easy. You can beat him even on lvl 1 soul. Lure him back to the wide area, and go in circle anti clockwise on him and wait till the right timing to back stab. If you dont hv shield that block 100% physical, get one from vendor before so. Avoid his shield attack combo, cause it drains most of your stamina. Thats why you need to go anticlockwise, cause his shield attack goes from his left to right. He drops stone and random gear.

@HowcastGaming No, the first one. When you get the Drake Sword, lure the Black Knight out, then run back up, and then to the right. Then there is the archer tower, don't go in there. Run past it, and there is the ladder which will take you to the place where were the 2 firebombers. Wait for the knight to be in the right spot, jump and do a special attack with the drake sword. I mean that jumping attack. It should be a 1 hit K.O. Atleast it worked for me. :P

I was able to kill him on my dex character on first try but have so much trouble on my str character. The key is just the same as the first knight, just keep circling him anti clockwise. I havent try again on my str character tho. On the other hand the 3rd one, which at the garden is easy. He is using pole and shield. Also there r 2 sword and shield at undead asylum.

@DarkSoulsOST just remember, when i kill him on my dex i wear him down little by little by the stair while pulling him back to the boar area. IT seems that on the stairs he cannot do the big swings, cause his sword will hit the wall. I didnt do that on my str character. See if thats help.

Hey, farm up 4000 souls, go back to the cleric in the firelink shrine, and buy the heal miracle, like was suggested. Your faith and attunement are high enough to use it without upgrades.

As you probably realised from how slow your stats improve when you level up, this game is all about equipment. Forget the dagger, you need either the winged spear from the cemetary or the drake sword by shooting the dragons tail. There are enough vods out which show how to get them. As soon as you find titanite shards (and the blacksmith) upgrade your weapon and armor, it helps a lot.

Kindling a bonfire lets you fill your estus flask up to 10. You definitely want to do that on the main campfire.

@keremmu I've had a lot of suggestions to not worry too much about armor since I'm playing a thief. I just found my first titanite shard, is it worth hanging onto for a better weapon or use it on my dagger/sword?

@HowcastGaming You can purchase those shards for 800 souls from the blacksmith, then the upgrade to the weapon itself requires 1 shard/200 souls. Upgrading your weapons makes a TREMENDOUS difference, so I'll suggest upgrading the weapon you use the most. Like Kere said, I would start using the Winged Spear and upgrade that. Armor doesn't seem to make a huge difference to me. So long as you stay under 50% load, you should try to get the best armor possible.

@HowcastGaming I would also suggest getting your VIT, END, and STR to about 14. I personally decided to raise my faith to 12, and my attune to 10 in order to purchase and use the Heal sell. It's basically like getting 5 extra flasks, permanently. If you need to know how to cast/learn miracles, just send a message my way.

upgrade strength, dexterity whenever you need it for new better weapons. put most points into endurance and vitality. resistance might be good but maybe bit further into game.

another tip, if you walking in to the building or pass archway or getting to tight corner always walk with your shield up. so then even if something will jump at you, you will defend the attack.

as well comming from demon souls I would sugest not to put to heavy gear untill your endurance will allow this and to roll fast
