Just wanted to correct the origin of the song. It was 1st recorded by Lori Lieberman & the "idea" for the song actually came from a poem she wrote -after- she had been moved & inspired during a Don McLean (proper spelling) concert. She went home, wrote the poem and later contacted another music industry person she knew (Norman Gimbel). She gave him the poem & he sat down with song writer Charles Fox who set it to music. Lieberman didn't have a hit with it but Roberta Flack did 2 years later.

you people dont understand, the song is about going to a place to see musician and the musician's song 'kill him softly' because it told his his emotional feelings. nothing gay about the song, if its sung correctly you do it as roberta flack did, because the song is about a musician who plays and sings a song that is about your life. . it like going to a john legend concert and his song touched you and you felt he singing about your life.

This guy was amazing. His voice was immaculate. The closest person today that can touch him is Maxwell & he's not there but close. He may have been gay but I don't know him personally so that ain't my biz. If I was a performer, I would emmulate how he approached the tone & the craft n how to present it to a crowd

I knew this song only as Fugees song so to my surprise I found many other versions. I listened to Michael Jackson's, Alicia Keys and even Roberta Flack's version and I thought there is no better version than Lauryn Hill's........I was wrong. RSPCT
