  • More brilliant Scottish music!

  • Soup "God" Dragons lives forever!

  • I forgot about this song. If you.would have asked me a week ago who these guys were, I'd have drawn a blank. Sweet divine things...

  • Best concert of my life was:

1992 91X fanfest San Diego - 6 hours of: Soup Dragons, Material Issue, Los Lobos, and Social Distortion! AMAZING!

  • does anyone have the song, dream on (solid gone) song 7 on this album? i cant seem to find it on the entire internet, has the whole human race forgotten that track?

  • the 90's was the best time for cool ol'e weird grundge and alternative. i am glad i was alive to live it Generation X rules!!!! i love it!!!

  • Marc Bolam was pride!

    Wonderful!!!

  • I've been a little disappointed in myself lately, getting out of being such a music fanatic. Now I realize it's cause the music that's on the radio today sucks. Even in the 90's the music on the radio was MOSTLY fantastic and had some originality. Now people just copy, copy, out right plagerize, steal, copy... blah blah blah...

This is good music. Miss the 80's and 90's.

  • 11 people arent Divine Things

  • The 90s were a decade landmarked by the deaths of America's greatest poets. Tupac, Kurt Cobain to name just 2. BTW this is a great song too! :D

  • anyone remember 120 minutes mtv

  • but I should have known that 10 people don't know shit about music

  • 80's and 90's were the best times ever! Music today is dead!

  • Damn this song is pure magic. Who needs doctors, this is my cure all.

  • Man, I loved this when it came out. Actually, as I recall, most of the rest of this whole album was really good. I bought it for this song, and was surprised by the rest of it.

Thumbs up for yet another awesome Scottish band!

  • The Soup Dragons covered some Rolling Stones songs (e.g., I'm Free) and this song is structured very similarly to Honky Tonk Woman. But its different enough to stand on its own. I love it and the video !

  • I listen this precious sound....after 16 years....I feel so young again!!!! I GOD this made my day!

  • most certainly miss the 90's, I was 16 in 1990 so it was very impacting, rock was very much alive . Oh wait, Lady Gaga is on and he's boning Miley Cyrus, gotta go.

  • BEST VIDEO VOICE BRILLIANT

    BLANCALOVE XD XD

  • BEATYFUL SONG GREAT MUSIC*********5555555 STARS*******

    BLANCALOVE XD

  • College. 1993. Ah it seems so recent yet it's nearly 20 years ago.

  • hexed fuck yeah !!!

  • some of the women in this video look like trannies

  • ahhhh, the sweet sweet memories. I was 17 when this song came out. May the 90's rock on!!!!!!!

  • "You Are the One Supreme Being

    Just Dressed to Kill "

  • Being alive since the 70's, I can say that the 90's clearly produced the greatest music. To sum it up, 70's=great classic rock and punk, Led Zeppelin, The Ramones etc. The 80's sucked. The 90's = amazing. The 2000's suck Big Ti

  • The 90's, what didn't you like: the peace or the prosperity?

  • the only decade for music worse than the 90s is the decade running from 2000 to 2010. this decade has produced some of the absolute worst music ever recorded. i have a hard time thinking of ANYTHING decent in the last ten years that was not made by someone that has been around for a while.

and dont get me started on cuntry (sic)

  • @edslides The 90s weren't that bad - Good music from Manchester and Liverpool, (The Stone Roses, Cast, The Charlatans etc.) Supergrass (from Oxford), the Manic Street Preachers (Wales) to name a few but you so are absolutely right about the new millenium, dire drivel, the end of music, Simon Callow will burn in Hell!

  • Good stuff!

  • 2 thumbs up if you miss the 1990s

  • @Freebird4rever ehhh

  • anyone just hear this on directv?

  • @flaresideg i'm always watching porn on TV so no

  • I'll trade you a Divine Thing for Three Strange Days.

  • That band were too yankee lovers for being scotish

  • What a great song! Those first years of the 90´s , I feel nostalgic about that decade

  • absolutely mush fucking bang on the music was boss.

  • @credinor Those first few years of the 90's changed our culture

  • Great song! Get up and dance :-)

  • are these guys any relation to the Ass Draggin's? :-D

  • holy shit i remember this video i was like 7 but fuck i remember this. i fucken love this song.

  • I heard this on the radio today and my dad said "Oh wow it's The Soup Dragons!'' and he started singing along with this song lol. I was like "Okay??" ha ha I had no idea who they were because I wasn't alive in the 80's or early 90's, but I like this song a lot! :D

  • did someone just call this grunge? lol, i laugh at you.

  • I LOVE this song! It was so great to hear it played on XM radio today :)

  • This was one of the best alternative rock bands of the 1990s :) a litle of soulful American blues Black Crowes + British alt punk garage stuff of Primal Scream , Lush, Elastica , Jesus Jones

yep good stuff from the original 90s ( full of punks, angst and GENERATION X )

    :)

  • @jetsonic69: I was about 12 when this song came out and was going to school in India. This was around the time that satellite tv was just getting going over there and we were suddenly inundated with MTV and Channel V. I think this was the first video I really loved!

  • @jetsonic69 FYI, they had a song called Soft as your face.

  • @jetsonic69 The Soup Dragons are from the 80's.

  • Is this song about the girl who pleasured Hugh Grant?

  • How can we get itunes to carry this song?

  • Man, I have ALWAYS loved this song!!! I've been trying to download/buy the song..CAN'T FIND IT FOR SALE On iTunes..never thought about listening to it here on YouTube! :-s

  • @BlueScorp33 I bought The Soup Dragons "Divine Thing" and "I'm Free" on iTunes in the the last 6 months but I just did a search for the albums "Hotwired" and "Lovegod" and neither of them are on iTunes anymore. I suggest contacting iTunes customer service to inquire about these albums/songs. Good luck.

  • Cheers mate! love this album to death!

  • love it! i remember this from a ways back. reminds me a of a girl i fell in love with. hehehe.

  • this song IS awesome!! i actually happened to catch them do this song on Letterman or some other late nite show in '92... he had a beanie hat on & was totally pulling off the grunge look. I still have it on VHS somewhere, hah.

  • Upload the video, that would be good to see.

  • thank you sirius for introducing me to this song.......

  • wen tema nunca supe kien lo cantaba

  • Soup Dragons...Jesus Jones...EMF...Happy Mondays.....man those were the days back then.... Saw Soup open for INXS and thought they were better than the headliners!! Same with Jesus Jones...saw them open for Concrete Blond and they were better then Blonde was....great times those days...

  • I agree! Those were the days, still love this music than the stuff today. Loved the Soup Dragons live!

  • OHMYGAWD!!!!! I remember all of them HA!! Can't say I was a big fan of all of those named but they do bring back memories.

  • @Kite4798 I agree with you 100 % except that Soup was better than INXS. Are you INSAIN? No one is better than original Michael Hutchins INXS!!

  • @Kite4798

I saw Soup open for INXS too!! I thought INXS was great too, no one like Michael Hutchence.

  • @Lys626 I always thought this was INXS! was this a cover?

  • @freedomchild68

No, I dont think its a cover.

  • these guys are my thing.

  • Awesome song, loved this album - probably their best one.

  • ever heard the backk catalogue they were amazing

  • Thank you Patty! You were the first to ... MD shore! Remember the Starboard!

  • Que buenos recuerdos!

  • I remember this song when I was young. Good song. Its underrated and better than half the crap out nowaday. HOLA FROM LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS!

  • "Anyone know where I can download this song? Itunes doesn't have it though they have just a couple of their other songs. Help!"

You could.....gulp..........go out and buy the album!

  • Did you ever find a download of this song?

  • hmmmm, the Soup Dragons. I remember them. Their sound really tried to emulate the Madchester sound. Or were they really considered more of that "Baggy" scene in the UK? Eh, not that it matters much, "Baggy" was a ride-the-coattails of the Madchester sound anyway. The Soup Dragons had a few memorable tunes, but couldn't hold up a consistent album. To me that's why they are second tier in this sub-genre compared to Stone Roses and Happy Mondays. C'est le vie.

  • Gee, could ya be anymore upbeat?!

  • The Soup Dragons changed styles with each album. Their first efforts were skinny-tie punk-pop, then they moved to that baggy thing. By the time this album "Hotwired" came out they were more of a Stonesish dance-rock sound. Regardless, they had a hit in America in 1992 at a time when American was awash in grunge and most British bands couldn't get arrested here.

  • Hey, let's not forget about Jesus Jones.

  • I love this song it reminds me of my first year at the sorority house in the 90s when a rock star came to visit and called me the devil.

  • Anyone know where I can download this song? Itunes doesn't have it though they have just a couple of their other songs. Help!

  • andrellsv @ hotmail . com and i'll send ya the song :D

  • Listening this song i fell like 15 years old again!

  • coz you're a sweet sweet divine thang! yeehaa..go the 1990s!!

  • Hehe, wow. Also probably my first time hearing it in 15 years. I almost bought the album in middle school, but it doesn't hold up well, I have to say.

  • Great song. I remember this from the early 1990s. Too bad the band didn't make an impact in the USA.

  • Great band. Too bad they never made many waves in the U.S. Once I heard some moron say they sounded like an INXS ripoff. Don't know who poured lead in his ears.

  • the greatest scottish band ever

  • Great band, yes. Greatest scottish band, I don't know.

Cocteau Twins, Jesus and Mary Chain.......

  • i dig for sure...but have you heard franz ferdinand??

  • how big were the soup dragons in usa had limited success in uk

  • thiiiiiiiisssssoooooooookooooooool !!!!!

  • Kösz! Szép a világ!

  • Great post. I've had this song in my head for years and haven't heard it for about 15 years. Good old You Tube to the rescue. I'm also surprised to hear from the comments that it was so big in the States. Over here in the UK it didn't chart and very few people remember it.

  • It was the only real hit the Soup Dragons had here in the US.

  • no... they had a song called im free... bigger hit

  • Buen tema, el cantante se hace el Kurt cobain!!

  • Catchy.

  • The 90's really had interesting music, and these guys were really good, they had some great songs, including this one

  • watta great sooong long time not hearing about it xD

  • Was this filmed in NYC?

  • i miss the 90s

  • Great song. I miss the 90s also.

  • Yea, the 90's had the greatest music. Those were the days

  • @keg74 the 90's were absolutely NOT the greatest era in music, it was the 80's, and this song fit the 80's style 110% The 90 was full of Grunge, Alternative, and the most depressing crap to ever exist. I was beginning to think the 90's was an attempt to reduce the worlds population by making everyone kill themselves. This song IS awesome, but NOT an accurate representation of the 90's, I mean ...this is the era that "emo" was born

  • @76gremlinguy Es posible que tengas razón.

  • @76gremlinguy: yeah, but we still had Bis. How would the Powerpuff Girls have fared without Bis? How would the world?

  • @76gremlinguy The 90's spawned more emos with bands like My Chemical Romance and HIM. The 90's spawned more goths. And why is this not accurate? Have you forgotten Lit, Len, and New Radicals? They all has their poppy, happy songs. (Just FYI: Both Emo and Goth was movements from the 80's. Grunge is the truth movement of the 90's.)

  • @76gremlinguy love your comment, and i had a gremlin too.

  • @keg74 hell yeah!

  • Yeah, dude, totally. I remember when this song was fresh-new. I had just moved to the US when the Soup Dragons released this. The grunge era was great, but the pre-Nirvana 90s were good too, and this is a good example.

  • @djhousefire me too!

  • One of my top 5 best songs of my life. I miss this band.

  • This song brings back memories. Use to request it all the time at the club I hung out at back in the day.

  • YEEEAAAAAAH! THANK YOU! :-D

  • i wasn't born yet to hear this. :(

  • Whatever happened to these guys? I guess once the 90's went buh bye so did Soup Dragons. This tune and "I'm Free" were two catchy tunes.

  • Shite. I used to love this album until I realised the Soup Dragons were shite.

  • What a great time period...I actually miss it.

  • The Soup Dragons were a great band and Hotwire was and awesome album.

  • Cosa divina! :D

  • LOL oh boy howdy is this gonna be misconstrued. Sorry once again to tick ya off (as usual) Peace!

  • man,I miss this band.

  • OMG! This song just took me back about 15 years. Reminds me of driving down the Biloxi coast on a summer day. GOOD TIMES!

  • yeah nice babes this song is very nice

  • Song reminds me of a kook named Allie Jo.......makes me smile

  • They was good, really good. I wasn't Know that "Divine Thing" and "Pleasure" was played for it. That was MUSIC.

  • I grew to hate this song when I was 13 because of the constant rotation on MTV (along with "I'm Free").

  • Love it so much!! I was 17 that year...

  • que bestial cancion

    eso vamos asi siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

  • la ragazza che chiude la porta del taxi è stupenda!!!

  • Oops, I meant "Divine Thing."

  • I wish someone would post The Soup Dragon's performance of "Diving Thing" from the Arsenio Hall Show (I think it was in 1992 or 1993). I used to have it on tape, but it got all messed up. I remember, they played it very well, and the visual effects used were awesome. If someone has it, please post it. :) Thank you.

  • once i went mad to get this album. Then became internet!

  • aahhh reminds me of my college years! :o)
