  • Poor parenting =

  • is that edie sedgwick sitting on the floor wearing a green dress at the end of this clip?

  • @gigolojimbo NO. Cyrinda Foxe

  • What a bunch of WEIRDOS. They really needed a strong father figure in their lives while growing up.

  • ".....s'cuse me"we need acid to translate this.

  • brilliant, what documentary is this from though?!

  • @Shanniquitie as the saying goes dear, "never argue with an idiot, they'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience" All the best :)

  • Was Jackie pretending he had to go to the bathroom? He (she?) was so wiggly!

  • Thank you wonderful clip, wonderful posts. Very interesting eavesdropping on you as it were..

  • speed KILLS!

  • Jackie is a having a flashback from elementary school.

  • @circethesorceress no you didnt say that lmao

  • These guys are FREAAKY!!

  • During the last bit Candy looks like she's at a funeral.

  • durísimas!

  • They all look depressed.

  • Did Jackie just say her left arm is named "Andy Warhol"? She needs to come down off that trapeze...into the sawdust. Circus Talk!

  • That's because she had a big "A" for Andy, tattooed on her left arm

  • Read Jayne County's book "Man Enough to Be a Woman" - VERY entertaining and VERY frank!

  • who is that at the end singing top row right?

  • Agosto Machado

  • Could you please put more up from this film? :)

  • Cyrinda Foxe was so stunning. I just love the way she moves with that guy.

  • What film is this from???

  • That*s Cyrinda!

  • Miss Curtis needs to sit her ass down and let Miss Darling talk!

  • Hahaha!!! But Jackie makes it so much more funny!!

  • Jayne County never got a sex-change operation.Just read her autobiography:''Man enough to be a woman''.Great read, but no ''Born a woman in my man's body'' type of book, that's for sure.Thank you for the great video !

  • Is this Jayne County during her pre or post op phase?

  • pre op early 70s x

  • I agree Joey. This footage was made available in 2005. I'm always amazed to find some new stuff even after all these years. I met Albert Maysles at a screening a couple of week ago. I told him about the footage he made the day Jackie was about to marry Eric Emerson. I read he was there that day filming on the top of the building. He couldn't remember but asked me to send him more info about it. Can you imagine if he finds it!!!!!!!

  • If he finds more more footage, Curtis would have reached the status of "King Tut of the Underground"! All of us would be on pins and needles to find and view all these rare film gems which have been buried for years! Keep us all posted. I believe the young man in the front row could be MR AMERICA from "Women In Revolt", which later buffed up - who played the scene with Curtis on the couch...LOL! Thanks again - Joey

  • @skene1963 Let me know if you ever find that footage of Jackie's wedding to Eric. She was supposed to marry Jerome, but he bailed on her and Eric stepped up. It was on .....'s rooftop. I don't think Maysles was the one filming I thought - what's his name, the guy who's apartment roof top it was was filming. He was out here a few years ago and told me he had the footage. Can't not remember his name. He used to do amazing drag opera send ups. If I remember I'll be back and comment .

  • @skene1963 Ira Scheff. OutRageous opera. The Wedding was on his roof top. Ab out 15 years ago Ira was out west doing his Outrageous Opera thing and we hung out a bit. He told me then that he had footage of that day.

    Find it post it!

  • When Candy Darling is talking I think it is just HILARIOUS how Jackie is impatiently raising her hand like a kid in a high school class who thinks he has something more important and intelligent to say! Jackie liked to push Candy and Holly out of the spotlight when the opportunity arose!

  • Actually, its quite annoying! specially for those of us who are more interested in Candy Darling...

  • But it was simply the dynamic of the girls when they were together, the one-upmanship and the not-so-subtle put downs were kind of an act. Candy was undeniably a great beauty - Jackie a brilliant witty personality... they were just working with what they had for their moment in the sun, which was sadly so very brief for both of them!

  • To me, Candy had more than just beauty. She was a witty comedienne as is evident in "Women in Revolt" in which she starred. Her wit, talent and ambition make her an inspiration for all of us in the trans community. I think I don't admire Jackie as much because of the fact that she did drag as more of a form of expression and lived both as a man and a woman. I don't believe her to have been a transsexual, but perhaps, a transvestite. Whereas, to me, Candy Darling was a woman.

  • @gmwoodworth so what if candy was a woman, but jakie/holly were "just" gender queer? all expression is valuable and difficult in society. being a tranny who goes whole hog and snips it off doesnt earn her a crown.... "just" a hug :)

  • @Shanniquitie That's not really what I meant. Candy was also post-operative and died biologically male. My point is whilst Holly and Candy both identified as women and believed themselves to be so, Jackie used his trans persona for comedic purposes and shock value

  • @gmwoodworth you seem to like judging people... that's just sad. i hope your life gets better.

  • @Shanniquitie also, Holly did not identify as "trans" so much as gender queer. do some research.

  • This clip is absolutely FABULOUS! I have never seen it, and also wish we could've had it for the documentary! They are all in the prime of their brilliance! Thanks You !Jackie's Cousin, Joey

  • See my reply in this thread

  • Andy is the Armistice!

  • LOL that is quintessential Jackie Curtis-speak!

  • She's hysterical! My favorite are her "looking for something more...intangible!" land "I already got a shrub in there!" from "Women In Revolt".

  • "A school teacher and a model - those are lesbians??"

  • "a school teacher and a model - those are lesbians??"

  • What's the deal with Jackie??

  • INCREDIBLE! I wish I had found this when I was making my doc "Superstar in a Housedress". In the shot at the end, above Jackie is Douglas Fisher (billed as Estelle R. Dallas in drag roles in "Glamour Glory and Gold" in 1974) and to Jayne's right I am sure that's Agosto Machado (look at my clips for more of them all)! Front row - no idea who the boy is with Angie Bowie. I wish there was more!

  • Hi Craig! Are you sure that's Angie Bowie and not Cyrinda Foxe?

  • Richard I bet you are right! That could be Cyrinda - so sad she is gone - I was going to try to interview her for Superstar but discovered she was too ill in 2002.

  • That really is very sad and such a shame. I don't remember ever seeing her in any documentaries at all actually other than the Bob Gruen NY Dolls DVD. Makes me want to read "Dream On" again.

  • Oh shit, I remember that! It was around the time of Warhol*s *PORK!* And it was made by David Bailey the famous photographer. I think! I was *supposed* to be in Andy*s next film but I got *mysteriously* pushed out by someone very jealous! I don*t know for sure who it was>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • Yes you're right. It's from Bailey's film. Some of them wanted the spotlight more than others...too bad.

  • Jayne, do you know who the boy is sitting next to Angie at the end of the clip?

  • That's an amazing little piece of footage! Where does it come from? When was it made? I guess it must have been around the time of PORK? Was it for a film, or a TV show or something? Jayne looks great.
