It helps knowing there are people out there who care about me and who will speak out. I have never been afraid to stand up for what I believe in and always speak out when I see bullying. Dekalb County School System in Atlanta allowed bullies to bully me without doing anything to them. When I acted out they expelled ME. Im a lesbien I've only come out to a few family members recently. It is beyond daunting to tell anyone no matter how sure you are that they will take it all right. Personally if my entire school knew I have no idea how they would take it and it's a scary throught to even think about. All I can say is that for those that are out to any mass of people I wish you all the strength to get through it and I hope you are blessed with people who care and support you.

I think kids must be raised differently, I'm only 29 years old and I never seen these kind of problems. Sure there were bullies. I guess I was always the bully that bullied bullies. I was taught to stand up for others. If I came home from school and told my dad I was directed into how to stick up for myself. Seams like nobody stands up for themselves anymore. Being gay is one thing and committing suicide is another. You're dealing with 2 problems that look like one. Many people commit suicide w/o being gay. Many people are gay that don't commit suicide. I can remember in school being bullied by people like many people were but nobody took their life. I'm bi, and I've dealt with suicidal thoughts before. Some days are harder than others. Even at 18, I still get them. It helps knowing there are people out there who care about me and who will speak out. I have never been afraid to stand up for what I believe in and always speak out when I see bullying. Even with my own problems, I know that there are others out there who suffer just like me when no one should suffer at all. I will never be silent. Thank you for making this video.

Dekalb County School System in Atlanta allowed bullies to bully me without doing anything to them. When I acted out they expelled ME. They RUINED my life by ignoring the problem and allowed those bullies to stay in school without ANY punishment. THIS IS THE SAME SCHOOL SYSTEM who just had a student commit suicide. As a result of their cavalier attitude I now live with AIDS and can't get a job. GREAT JOB DEKALB COUNTY. You deserve the Idi Amin Humanitarian of the Year Award!

Im a lesbien I've only come out to a few family members recently. It is beyond daunting to tell anyone no matter how sure you are that they will take it all right. Personally if my entire school knew I have no idea how they would take it and it's a scary throught to even think about. All I can say is that for those that are out to any mass of people I wish you all the strength to get through it and I hope you are blessed with people who care and support you.

I think kids must be raised differently, I'm only 29 years old and I never seen these kind of problems. Sure there were bullies. I guess I was always the bully that bullied bullies. I was taught to stand up for others. If I came home from school and told my dad I was directed into how to stick up for myself. Seams like nobody stands up for themselves anymore. I'm really sorry for the kids that killed themselves, nor will I believe they were "gay". Just good confused kids. I have prayed for them

Being gay is one thing and committing suicide is another. You're dealing with 2 problems that look like one. Many people commit suicide w/o being gay. Many people are gay that don't commit suicide. I can remember in school being bullied by people like many people were but nobody took their life. I think the real focus is really to mget people to put more value on their own individual lives by knowing how valuable life is.

I came out as a lesbian in 7th grade.
I'm currently in 9th grade and everybody knows I'm a lesbian.
My whole family knows, the teachers, kids, parents, and even people I don't know.
I stayed strong while getting made fun of the whole year and then the bullying stopped.
My lesbian/gay friends say that I inspire them to come out of the closet.
R.I.P to the 6 teens that committed suicide because of ignorant people. :(

I agree with your message but after reading some of the comments I have to agree. Suicide is rather selfish and many other kids die all the time. If they give up just because they're being bullied they need to toughen up a little. I'm not "out" yet but I STILL get shit about it but I haven't give up on life yet. Giving up is just the easy way out.

Obviously its sad that people commit suicide, but I think its unfair and I dont waste my time feeling sorry for people who quit after a minor problem of bullying, when people in the world are starving, in the middle of wars and other such problems. They have real problems, teenagers with identity crisis's is not somthing i care about. Im 17 also, so i understand what current teenagers go through, bullying is a horrible thing, but there are other ways to dealing with it other than killing yoursel

@TheSeanSimpson yes i agree there are ways, im so perplexed by the matter and i wish everyone could be tuff but i guess some people are just not as strong and very vulnerable, it doent make them selfish it just makes them depressed and its scary what thoughts comes to ones mind when they have no one to go to...Thank you for your comments :-)

gay/lesbian is alright. bullying is wrong. but if your gay, does not mean you have to act like a women, your still a male and should carry yourself as one. same for females. maybe if you keep your personal life personal, no one would care as much or try to bully. because i'm straight and pproud of it does not mean i'm going to share my personal buisness,thoughts,habbits, or actions with people whom i do not trust, people who have no interest, or in an environment where it may be inapropriate.

@TheRainbowGarden i do understand, and i agree that insulting people, making them fell bad or uncomfoetable is a line you do not cross. once again i would like to state that for the most part i have no problem w/gay people. but once they "cross the line" and "come out" in an inappropriate way or place(like surounded by half straight people or better) they impose an incomfortable felling upon straight people they may not even be aware of which is why a lot of people react the way they do.

People will always be bulled for being different than the norm; if the guys/girls who committed suicide felt so strongly about coming out of the closet that they'd go to that length, they wouldn't have gone to any help hotline or something similar. It's a sad fact of life.
