Is this the same as the BIOSTAR TA790GX XE AM2+/AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard? If so how did it do for you? I plan on purchasing it along side an AMD Athlon Phenom x4 965 Black edition, to go in my HP a6203w desktop. I already have an ATI Radeon XFX 5670 1gig video card, with a Corsair 430cx PSU put in it, as well as 4 gigs of DDR2 Ram.
My old crap is the stock mobo that was in it, with a crappy amd athlon 64x2 4400
UPDATE!! now my 965BE is running at 3.4 ghz here is the fix copy and paste this click on the first sit look down it will be grayed out!! worked fine for me!! GUIDE c3/c2 x4 955/965 working with TA790GX 128m
Biostars T series boards have been a great success. Finally a company got smart and worked on quality and performance. I learned that Asus was trying to cut corners to grow into other markets like I-pod and Apple and Sony. Asus took funds from the main source and the quality was let go. Not on Biostar. Great performance. Great quality and price of success shared with the customer counts.
I have sence upgraded it to a 7600gt (i got it for free from a friend that upgraded) and it ripps i took the box to a lan with the friend that upgraded and in some of the older games like tf2 and css it was right up there with his. So in a nut shell i can say it has no problems with nvidia cards but don't expect SLI as its not an nvidia chipset SLI on the AMD Side needs an Nvidia Chipset. however if you use a higher end intel board you can do both sli and crossfire. Hope this helps!
Hey i was wondering if this motherboard worked well with Nvidia cards, I am trying to buy some graphics cards and i really like these Nvidia cards i found but i am wondering if i can SLI them? The name is Galaxy 96GFF6VIFCXX GeForce 9600 GT Video Card can you help me out?
@angelofdeath114 no you cant...this are 790 AMD chipsets. I own this board with a 5870 dude, go full AMD you wont regret it. and if you dont like it hey dude its not like youre going to have one pc for the rest of your life. but I garanty that you wont go back
i assume you mean the M3A76-cm? it has onboard video and the higher end 710 southbridge but has the older 760 northbridge so if you needed onboard video the asus would be better. however in terms of max performance the 770 with a pcie gfx card would be best for games.
i have the same mobo got it at micro center for $140 at the time. this is my set up. amd 965 BE. 3.4 ghz x4. two 5850 runin in cross fire. 8 gb ram. window 7 64bit. i have to say im very happy with this set up. i play all games wide open like RE5. with out standing fps!! i love this dam thing!!
nice i didnt know that the amd x2 6000+ stock fan came with the copper heat pipes, I have this board with the 128mb side port memory with the amd x2 5000+ gskill 4gb of ram
Pretty sure it doesn't. I just picked up the Athlon II X2 250 and it didn't... and that chip is pretty new. If he's OC'd at all, it has a after market HS/Fan. Nice though. Wish the poster had put temps.
