Steve also did a lot of producing. He wrote "Sittin'n The Dock of The Bay" with Otis Redding. He played on so much stuff it's unbelievable. A lot of times because a lot of people come to Memphis to record. Anyone would have been happen to have Steve Cropper on their record.
@funkality My mistake that is not Steve Cropper, but you need to read his bio, he played on Otis Redding's albums and much much more. Not just with Booker T!
Most Definetly!! I got the Otis redding collection on Vynl but thank you. I love ppl who enjoy great music!! The drummer on those sets is "Al jackson jr." he did most of Otis reddings, if not all OF Stax records catalogue. Also including, before his mysterious murder, All of the Al Green hits. Damn!!!
@funkality I like you! Thanks for not reaming me out! Sometimes I get a little carried away about music and the legends. I have a fairly good collection of the blues, lost a lot. I'm a blues singer, well was. Good job!
Brilliant interview. This is the real world people! Session work is a lot more in depth as a session player or singer than people think. And this is reality.
Cropper was far more involved with the old STAX stuff in Memphis than anyone would realize on first glance.
