Terry Reid might not be widely known but those of us lucky enough to have been exposed to his music absolutely love the man. Saw him for the first time in Dublin last year. The small crowd had so much love for him it was touching. A woman nearby cried. Terry mostly laughed in that mischievous way of his. Check out Brave Awakening.
This guy is fantastic. I only recently heard about him after reading a singer called Terry Reid was Page's first choice for Zeppelin. Man, he should be KNOWN, Seed of Memory is one incredible song and he was easily Plant's or Marriott's match as a singer. No wonder Jimmy wanted him.
man , it was something to grow up in the 60's 70's ...... that is when i should've been roaming ... you know i'm out of my league when it comes to today .... it is crazy how it has changed as much as it has . fortunately i was born somewhat in the right era where i did not have to worry about what kid are worried about today ... you know ... so i'll blend in and disappear into the chaos of it all ...peace to all dead heads and hippies

@IFYOUSEEKAMY623 Totally agree with you. Stumbled on this whilst looking up some stuff about Robert Plant. Didn't realise that Terry Reid was Jimmy Page's first choice for Led Zep. I wish you well.

@nikkiiihoeeee I agree ever since I saw the sequel to House of 1000 corpses I could not stop listening to the songs from the soundtrack. I mean Allman Brothers, Terry Reid, SKYNYRD!? Great soundtrack.
This song tells the story of humanity and the struggle to survive in a world that hates and tells how change will come to us all so that we remember our fallen heroes and never forget their sacrifices
Great song, thanks to rob Z for turning the world onto it thru the corpses movies, but why did terry reid put geddy lee on his album cover??? BTW, he was jimmy page's 1st choice as the zeppelin singer but when terry was unavailable, he had to get some black country bumpkin, dont quite remember his name.... robert something or other....
what A CONTRAST from the blood soaked Devils Rejects Movie ... shamed to say never heard this song before , but it has to be one of the Best songs I've ever heard .
I've never liked a song so quickly in my life. Again, thanks to Rob for showing us Terry Reid, I'm so glad I found him. I feel weird and get butterflies when I listen to it. He's got so much soul it hurts.
I concur, this is a beautiful song. Too bad no one today makes music sound like this anymore. Reminds me of the Fall season with the smell of a woodfire in the night sky.
My favorite song from the devils reject movie, amazing music, i never thought I come to like classic rock but this is just to beautiful of a song. And im black yall and in my 20s, who would have thought right. And Rob Zombie very creative and one hell of an imagination :)
A timeless recording. Produced by, and with backing voc from, Graham Nash, along with a brilliant lap-steel contribution from David Lindley. Funky folk with a bossa-nova bridge. Dig it deep.
Could've been Deep Purple's singer after Simper/Evans left and Zeppelin's singer !!! What a thought, if he'd been the singer of BOTH at some time. Hmmm... Great voice!!!!!!!

Terry's music is truly timeless - I have no doubt it will be played no matter what the latest flavor of the popular music is... because it has the power to reach deep.
I heard his voice 1st some 16 years ago - Superlungs My Supergirl on the Psychedelic Dream compilation - and remember being stunned, nearly paralyzed by the scorching intensity of the vocals, it was almost painful to listen to. This is much tamer, but the whole Seed of Memory album is sheer brilliance.
Saw Terry at Nottingham Uni; up amongst the all time three best gigs I've been to; even he couldn't believe the reaction from the crowd; came wandering off stage with his guitars not knowing where he was going, after security had turned on the house lights...thanks Terry for some great music and memories...
don't have to hope we like it bro, anyone with any real taste in music loves this, fuck the rest....terry reid is a legend, this song as a whole proves it, but the vocals from 4:17 to about 4:37 made me love this song til the day die, people like terry reid never die
@rdmbf42 agreed brotha. im of mixed background but cant help to appreciate amazing music, regardless of age and era. And i would most definitely like to exit this world with this playing in the background.

I mean it's nice that more people are getting into classic rock..
It's just that it's through a damn movie, not looked for or engraved
by parents or something. Try tuning on to classic rock stations
and you'll hear songs like these all the time. Rob Zombie isn't a wiz
that discovered these songs people.. I guess that the good thing from
that, is the higher possibility of music not dying

I have read that Terry Reid was originally asked to be in Led Zeppelin and suggested Robert Plant instead......too much talent for one era.

don't have to hope we like it bro, anyone with any real taste in music loves this, fuck the rest....terry reid is a legend, this song as a whole proves it, but the vocals from 4:17 to about 4:37 made me love this song til the day die, people like terry reid never die
