  • Its water`BOMB` base and not water base bomb!!!!!

  • took me 4 hours, glue, and a WORLD of patience but I'm DONE!

Admittedly a newspaper Electra isn't as elegant but what the hell I dont care. This is my masterpiece

  • This is the kind of stuff nightmares are made of. Took me 3 hours to make 30 modules, and now I've fucked up the final model. I can get only as far as the 20 model 2-D figure before I get confused as hell and mess the rest of the thing up. I hate origami.

  • needs to slow down !!!

  • how many modules

  • @darksonicx9999 you need 30 for this design.

  • Could you make a smaller one with less units? If yes, what is the minimum number of units needed to make the smallest one?

  • I want to make this but I can't even finish the video without nodding off time to get more coffee

  • thx!!! I've become obsessed with making these thing ever since I rediscovered how fun origami was to me

  • when i put two modules together and 'lock them into place' they still come apart, i'm pretty sure i did everything right... :/

  • how many pieces of paper should be put together to form that??? please reply!

  • @beenootza 30 units = 30 pieces of paper.

  • is that what this man spends his life doing???

  • thumbs up if you hate when people ask for thumbs up lol

  • i was gonna ask sumthing but i forgot what, THUMBS UP IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU:D but seriously, i forgot what, oh and nice stop motion, now i remember, can u tel me how u make your videos? please?

  • i was gonna ask sumthing but i forgot what, THUMBS UP IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU:D but seriously, i forgot what

  • @japaneseeraserfan18 You'd think people like you would learn that these things are the essence of stupidity and immaturity and are a total waste of time. Do you really think that anyone is going to believe this message?

  • @japaneseeraserfan18 so y do ppl do this?

  • 4:41

This is how babies are made.

  • Aug 14 is my bday

  • how many moduloes are needed?

  • i cant see

  • @thientrang27 maybe you need glasses?

  • yes maybe

  • i cant see nothing

  • how many papers do you need

  • Hello!! Can this be used as sort of a lamp?? or do you know how to make a origami lamp?? Thanks!!

  • Making this gets me tired.. got thru like 16 of the individual ones and i was ready to sleep T_T

  • Cool

  • #LOL

  • #LOL

  • electra what???????

  • @Mscrazygurl4lyfe icosidodecahedron!

  • bn

  • IT DOESN'T STICK!! it tourns to be FLAT.. not ball like :(

  • am i the only one who started thinking about sex when he peased them together? =P

  • This is soo cool but I don't want to use 30 pieces of paper when I can do something elese with it. But this is really cool and will take a long time to make :/

  • dude cant see tht good not cool vid explain bettr

  • i bet you might be mad when you might move...

    not saying you will :)

  • your good!! wow!!!

    and thanks :)!

  • it wont stick together

  • help ive made 30 modules and its only formed half a circle any ideas?

  • This is the next model that I will make. Looks much easier than the twinboat icosahedron.

  • pardon me, but you have a mistake in the colors.

  • this is easy

  • what sound affects did you use for this music? im using the website but cant find any of them. ( trying to recreate this music)

  • fun to fold mini electras.

  • 2 much sunlight

  • did you create all this just by yourself ?

  • hey thx man, not many ppl would take time out of there day to put together a video like this FOR FREE!!! THX again man

  • i had a hard time figuring out how to assemble it because i was makeing a mistake. but now i find it pretty easy. it is not easy but very easy,

  • Hi Barbellaatje, I'm confused when you mentioned 5 rings & 3 rings? Meaning 5 modules connect to become 1 ring & another 3 modules connected to become another ring? Thank you :)

  • @Yashuawa I spent 8 hours on mine too! 6 making the modules and 2 putting it together. If you can lock them right, you're set. Sometimes watching how to put it together is confusing. Just try playing around with the pieces. And if you're making something new with a bunch of pieces, i suggest doing all one color so you dont get frustrating the first time on which color to put where :)

  • I made mine out of 8.5 x 8.5 inch squares, blue, green, and purple. I LOVE IT! It's about 13 inches wide. Took me 8 hours (including time to learn the fold) and I had to use a little glue on a couple pieces that gave me trouble when I was finishing it, but it was worth it! I did it so none of the same colors touch. I'm using it as a prop for my senior pictures. Thank you very much!! <3

  • your tuturials are great but your music sucks

  • @roykepoep If it were great music, it would distract you from learning how to make it!

  • how many of those peices do I have to make?

  • Hey, plz watch my vids. Thanks :D

  • I wonder...Im gonna make a buckyball out of these!

  • cool ! loved !

  • the movie is really good, but at 2:17 and 3:09, the light is sort of blocks the view, but it's still a fantastic movie

  • At the very end of the video, how many papers do I need to make the smaller version? (the bright blue, pink and green model)

  • my modules wont lock together please help

  • Super! Thank you very much.

  • I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE PART IN 1:58

  • My points end up on the other side ALL THE TIME insted of them being on the right they are on the left is that ok

  • GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!! 30!!!!!!!! i liked the original six unit modular this is totally crazy but at least the modules are very easy!

  • I like this. I tried a poluhedron out of the little turtle base and it was miserable to keep it attached to the other pieces while assembling them into balls. I had to break the origami rule and revert to glue as my helper. This one actually looks like it locks together much better. Thanks for sharing this!

  • how big does the paper have 2 B?

  • any size will work really.... shown are 9x9 and 12x12cm ; )

  • Thanks for the video <3 My friends thought I was all that when I made one at school. Surfing the net the other day I found another set up of these same units that look almost the same put together-- but I think it included some four unit rings among the five and three. Anybody tried?

  • One of my teachers has one, now I know how to make it.

    Thank you very much.

    :D

  • very nice. I always end up tearing the paper in the final construction. any tips?

  • hmmm sould not that be prone to tearing even when newspaper paper is used .. ;)

  • @barbabellaatje hi i have subscribed to youfor a while could you post a video of how to properly lock the peaces in the electra icosohedron

  • @TwigsInc Are you using a bone-folder or your hands?

  • this is soo cool and easy i love your tutorials

  • i think I know why it loose another piece. Icosidodecahedron has pentagons and triangle so I think you're making a lot of triangle over and over so that's why (my opinion) 5 triangles should be around each pentagon.

  • when i connect them sometimes it comes loose and falls a part and when i put it together another one comes out.

  • It took me a day to make it.

    It is really beautiful.

  • do you have any diagrams?

  • can be found in many modular origami books ; )

  • @barbabellaatje do u know what kind of paper is good for a 145 pt. sea uchin i wanna make? the diagram said that the paper has to be thin, but not easily rippable, and that a good starting size is 40x40 centimeters

  • really ty ,i saw a how to make electra vid somewhere else but couldn't make the ball complete ,tanks to you i can do it now :) , this is the second origami i can make from you ^^

  • im completely lost.. i cant learn this by video. i have to see it in person :[ i cant see what you're doing. the lighting is too dark then goes to too bright. i cant see the folds. its blurry :[ this isnt working..

  • is easy past 2X and 3X ..... :-)

  • uffff is hard I win I finished electra yeaah

  • I haven´t full ball

  • I have 30 modules i have full ball :-d but half ball -d

  • 3X15 color or 30 modul ? please ?

  • 30 modules 3 x 10 in a different colour ; )

  • diagrams ison the shi**t :-d

  • diagram :-d:-d:_d no no no video youtube is good :-d

  • low qualiy tryagain this video pleas ? <-(100x) 2:50 is repeat on other side this for me game over :-d

  • It is not so difficult, let it sink in a bit and I am sure you'll get it ; )

  • it is really beautiful! but it failed when i wanted to make!!!

  • whered you mind how to make all these!

  • Diagrams online and out of books ; )

  • Bravo on the video, mine turned out wonderfully. It took about 45 minutes, but then again I have two others that help me fold modules when I need them to...

  • I dont really know if i can do this.. Need to get more paper and training. :P

  • this seems really easy

i hope to make this, this weekend nice video

  • It is quite easy but pay attention to locking the modules! ; )

  • nice ending

  • I absolutely adore your stop motion! Thanks for all of your tutorials! You're great!

  • cant you just do 15 I'm only gonna do a small one anyway

  • No, the fit of these modules determine the angle so you will need all 30 :P

  • Very nice! Thanks for posting and for the explanations!! :)

  • Icosidodecahedron.........

    i dont know...

  • what the heck is with these long names? it's very hard to say it so i put them "my own names" to understand better!

    oh yeah thanks very much!

  • maybe your mind can't reach what other can easily pronounce... what a pity for you

    EXCELLENT VIDEO :D!

  • i made one of these and its incredibly fragile. like i picked up and suddenly to modules come undone i was wondering if i made it right

  • No, it should be quite strong! @ 4:55 you see that the module does not fit ... it extends past the corner crease... you push it past the corner to have a proper fit and then refold the corner to lock as shown here ;)

  • the part that confuses me the most is the name

  • It's easy to make one, but it's gonna take a long time XD

  • thanks this is an awsome model

  • can you make this a cubeohedron(i dont know how to spell it) and if so how many modules?

im pretty sure 12 would be right

  • how many modles do you need!

  • 30 squares pieces of paper required!!

  • thanks

  • nice animation assembly! :D

    Can't wait to make this!

  • wolas

    saludos

lo hice y kedo mui geneal

    saludos

    chaoooooooo

  • no, why?

  • are u asian?

  • i need your help! when i assembled the Electra Icosidodecahedron, i ran into a problem. more tord the end of the vid when you put it together you have kinda of a dome shaped figure and all of your pieces stay together. well, mine isen't a dome and the pieces don't stay together. WHAT SHOULD I DO?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!?!?

  • Look carefully at 4:55 the modules should be locked! The tip extends over the fold (or centerline) in the adjacent module. You may also not get the right shape if you have a wrong number of mudules in a ring... hope that helps.

  • um how many squares i need?!

  • 30 :)

  • 30 lmao

  • you need 30 squars

  • You're my virtual teacher on this!!!

all your vids are so clear to follow every step...

    hugs =))

  • i actually made it and it was so easy

  • atleast this one isnt super fast like some

  • i will try it! thank you!

  • hey is that paper in a retangle? or a square?

  • squares!!

  • aw that is so cute i will try and make it right now...lol..thanks for showing us how to make that

  • jaja.. Wow.. if you made this whole vid, then congrats! this is absolutly great..

  • hahahaha. your doing it the long way.

  • OMG!! that is so cool even though i dont know how to even say what is is!!

  • you can when you say it slowly i...cosi...dodeca...hedron.

    icosidodecahedron

  • what is the length by width of the paper you use?

  • Any size will do, but the ones shown in the vid are 9 and 12cm squares.

  • nice

  • i have already done this

  • srry but how many pieces

  • See 4:24 so 30 squares needed.

  • great video

  • im making it right now... hope it comes out good =) *crosses fingers*

  • I bought a book just for this diagram years ago and it wasn't from Dave Mitchell's book. It was from a papercraft book. Dave Mitchell's book is sadly out of print :( Great video btw!

  • Though the instructions tell you to do a waterbomb base, I think it is faster and easier to use the preliminary base.

  • I tried folding this model and it came out well. I used Post-It notes though..Thanks a lot!!

  • :-D

  • you know the light in the backround sometimes it shines on the paper and we cant see anything just some advice. keep up the good work

  • Yep,You're absolutely right is because I don't use any special equipment other than my old HP digital camera and moviemaker... so end result depends on weather and time of day ;)

  • note the electra's awesomeness

  • cool.... luv the ending animation :)

  • it's great

  • I'm trying to put mine together, but it's hard to find out where you place the pieces.

  • SUPER!!!... I just LOVE how you do the end of your videos with the animation!!!!... it looks sooo alive!!!!...

    Thank you!

    ku-ku

  • THAT WAS AWSOME

  • nice! even though i use a faster method, it's also probably less accurate, 'cause my electra's always end up lopsided or something. :D

  • it's pretty.

  • by the way, nice colors... it reminds me of the different kinds of cotton candy ( yes ive seen white cotton candy before :))

  • seriously... how do you do all this?...

  • Origami :D
