Why doesn't Daphne try prying up the pins in the hinges, since presumably there's a knife in the picnic basket? Niles could push on the hinge side of the door and maybe make a gap in the door.

Peanut brittle is one of those foods that's excellent if made right and horrible if it isn't. There's a very narrow window of temperature to heat it to or else it is too sticky on the one side or to hard and "shardy" on the other. When it's done just right I love it.
