in 72 my friends and I would be cruising the backroads at 15 mph,at 2 am,,drinking Colt 45 and smoking hash in a waterpipe, with this album (cassette) as loud as it would go on the car stereo,pretty fun times.
Love da organ/keyboards of my main man Jon Lord, Esq. Dig that sound. Not to mention Roger "Do Rag" Glover on bass guitar.
You call what we have today "music"??? These kids today have it bad. It is such a lame scene now. Dullsville times infinity. Glad I am an old geezer. Yee Hah! PURPLE pumps me up!
Deep Purple is a band that I always skipped over. I'd like to say I'm sad about it, but (if anything) I'm happier to discover them now that I'm ready. Really good stuff here. No time like the present to remember what real fucking rock music is about.
I guess my mom' born me listening this song...It's my kind to be, to be alive and probabily will be the the last song in my passing away moment...People!...It's an unique chance to live in the same time with these geniuses....I'm feeling blessed and you must feel the same...Injoy and thanks to GOD!...
The lead solo by Ritchie on this is fantastic! Yeah - it's all time classic Purple. Defintely in their top 20 all-time, but there are so many great ones, it's almost impossible to rate.
With the exceptions of the LIVE IN JAPAN versions of Child In Time and Space Truckin', this is my fave Purple song. In fact, it's so Purple it's nearly Ultraviolet.
this is metal before metal existed, just like fireball,space truckin' and highway star are all thrash and speed before anyone knew what the fuck it was. queen and deep purple created modern metal without knowing it.
@powerslave887 All of those songs are fuckin' great but nowhere near to thrash... For instance "Angel of death" from Slayer is thrash - compare it to "Highway star".
@boogie1master I said the original songs that influenced thrash music, not thrash music, songs that had elements of thrash in them and might have influenced later bands.
@clubhouseme ahahhahahhahahahaaahahaha BIG like man ! I got very f.u.c.k.e.d. u.p. drummer who likes Nickelback and my other members in band support him ...... they will never lear what the real music is ! :)
I think Ian Gillan was better than David Coverdale. Richie Blackmore is the shit.

I'm born in 1995 and I thank god and my dad for this band!
He listened to Deep Purple, Iron Maiden and other great bands when I was just 3 months old!
Ian Paice is my big idol. Yes, I'm a drummer, too. I love his playing...I love this band.
Thank you daddy, for listen to good music with me !

@clubhouseme
Absolutely! I grew up with DP too... Nickelback is a band for girls... soft cock rock and a singer that wears low-rider jeans.
lotuszenheart 2 months ago
@clubhouseme :
Nickleback should never be uttered in the same sentence with a band like this.
This is like saying your local high school state football champion can be compared to the Green Bay packers.
