I could be very wrong, but I think regular pepper spray is FAR more powerful than this shit. This stuff is only 2% OC, while regular pepper spray is 10%-17%. The reason being is that it has to be humane for the bear or other animal.
Just so ya know, the spices in bear spray repel the bear at first, but they end up attracting bears hours later once they've settled on the ground... Don't use bear spray unless it's an emergency, and definitely never spray your tent with it thinking it will keep bears away.

i seen a dude at my school mace another guy 1cm from the spray point, but it had a long black plastic tip that went out about 10cm and it shot about 16feet totally orange faced after that, the guy who got maced cried for three hours, and was he was stuck at the hospital long enough haha
