Not too bad, but it seems a bit messy. Hands aren't synchronized at some points. Also... posture, looks uncomfortable. Otherwise, nice performance. Learning this piece at the moment, and I know how difficult it can be!
A comment below by thriving21yo says people don't criticize the famous pianists for things like posture, and honestly I don't know why. I'm not superbly fond of Lang Lang's facial expression, and I've said so.
5 stars, great playing :). But the best recording i've seen of this etude is the guy at Interlochen academy.I like the more forte version hes playing it. This comes on second place for me. I add it to my favorites tuogh.^^
She's a professional pianist, former student of Feltsman at the Mannes college. First prize in quite a few big competitions. We tend to like to pick out issues and criticize, and yet we don't see people critisizing postures of people like Uchida and Kissin... It's always interesting how it works around the right and wrong type of people...
With some students I hang a picture on the wall directly ahead and for difficult passagio its good to practice not watching the hands - its very freeing and improves your spacial awareness. Not to say you cant ever look at hands..but helps fix tendancy to slump. Enjoyed the fire and passion in your performance though. Star qualities evident!!
Good! I enjoyed your vocalise much more I have to say. In the vocalise you had more time to be an artist. I felt at moments here it was more touch and go artistry..??? But you are certainly a poetic spirit and you should push your technical abilities to the max now. Do becareful of dropping the head. It isnt good for the back actually..but it actually restricts the way you hear too..which is actually far more serious musically. There is a danger in getting keybound. .
very nice. so far i can't do any better than you. However, there was some roabato that was affecting the speed a bit. get rid of robato in this piece and it will sound 100% beatiful. i know it's hard and i know you do it so you can keep up. but try to practice not to. Mwah, your awsome.
tnk´s a lot. Indeed a very good tempo. And iron will. But i´m afraid, that you´ll have soon some neckache with such "head in shoulders";)(I agree with qivory). But, once more, you play well, vocalise too.
Meh, who cares about posture, no one wants to see a statue playing the piano, at least I don't. I think you have a great presence, though you are seated, and you exude a strength and energy seldom seen these days. Your playing is ravishing and I love what you bring out in the hidden melody lines, so refreshing. Keep up the good work.
Great performance. You may want to re evaluate how you hold your head during playing. The way it is in the video you are going to end up with serious neck and spinal strain if you continue to do this. Your head feels many more times heavier if you stick it out like that, instead of letting it rest on top of the spinal column.
its fast. notes are clear. but the tempo is twisted.

it's amazing, both the Etude and her performance.

This is the only etude, which can be played at almost every pace. Extrem pace does no harm to this piece (if played clean and transparent).
Here it's played not always synchronized, regarding the hands.
Its not easy too play this piece not monotonous.
