Hmmmm. I feel that Dion is more sincere than most politicians, but I personally still don't feel he has the leadership qualities for the job of Prime Minister. I would really like to see a Harper majority and some stability for a while. After all, if things don't work out, we can always vote him out at the end of his first majority term.
I don't know. Can I handle 5 years of the Albertan rule over Canada? I don't think so. So far the best things about this government have been the moderation that comes from having to deal diplomatically with the other parties.
I don't know if I handle Ontario ruling over Canada for another 5 years. After all...say what you will about Alberta we are strong economically! Which is more that I can say for our newest Have-not Province Ontario. maybe the real problem is that the "moderating" forces of the Lib/NDP are preventing the Tories from doing anything significant to actually help the economic situation.
Uhh, except that the Tories were planning on doing nothing about the economic crisis until they were forced to by a potential coalition. Weren't you paying attention?
Sure...but I haven't heard much of a plan out of anyone else either. The Tories plan was to get a preliminary budget out cutting the expenses of the federal government. We are entering an economic crisis and the only answers that I heard out of the Libs/NDP seem to be...throw money at it. STIMULUS PACKAGE! Rah rah rah. Well...How? The reason that I don't like the Libs is that they see a problem and they do something quickly...but then it turns out to be inefficient/ineffective.
And from what I've heard from the Tories. (you shouldn't listen to the Libs for what the Tories plans are btw) they were planning on coming up with stimulus packages. But they wanted to make sure what they were doing would be effective. The economic crisis only started hitting Canada during the election. How can you expect a comprehensive economic plan after a couple weeks?
It's called planning ahead (and everyone expected this). I don't expect a comprehensive plan, but I do expect a plan of some kind. The conservative budget had no provisions for helping the economy, and it was (of course) The Budget - the document that set out the spending priorities for the year.
BTW, you should read the news rather than party press releases. The Libs have been producing efficient, effective policy since Harper was fighting against the Charlottetown accord.
Alright. Tell me a few of these brilliant plan. I haven't been reading press releases. I've watched INTERVIEW with Liberal party member (Ignatieff among them) and even when they are asked "What do YOU want to do?" they come back with "we want to give a stimulus package to the people that can will benefit most" I haven't heard them say we have told the Tories (specifically) this is what we want done and they said no. If they can say THAT honestly then I will change my opinion.
