Much fuel is wasted in the cobustion event and carbon is deposited all over until the HHO is introduced. Once HHO is introduced into the combustion chamber (even a miniscule amount) the combustion burns most of the fuels instead of turning into carbon deposits all over your engine. Watch Roy McAllisters videos on YouTube.
chucksheen, you're partially right. It burns considerably *more* of the fuel with the introduction of the HHO and thus gives a sufficient increase in overall efficiency that counters the extra power required to operate the generator, plus a substantial increase in fuel mileage. Check out Zerofossilfuels site at alt-nrg(dot)org for details. ;-)
Incidentally, I did an actual measurement of HHO output and it's making around 1.2 l.p.m. at 13.5 vdc and 18 amps. I keep the electrolyte rather lean so I don't overload the stock VW generator. I think the addition of a good PWM will help considerably. ;-)
I posted this a couple weeks ago, but it ended up near the bottom of the list. So here it is again...
The results are in. Without the HHO generator, the bug was averaging around 29 mpg. combined highway and local driving. WITH the HHO generator, it jumped to 36 mpg. average. The only problem I've had so far is a leaky bubbler which I'm in the process of replacing, and the draw on the generator is higher than I'd like. Nothing an alternator wouldn't fix. :-)
I haven't had time to do any more video since I had to drive across the state last week to fetch my daughter whom I haven't seen in 6 years, so things have been pretty hectic around here. As soon as I have some time, I'll put up some video of the current installation. Thanks for your comments and stay tuned for more tests. ;)
The amount of gas needed to turn the alternator to make electricity will far outweigh the amount of gas saved by burning hydrogen and oxygen. Overall, the system will make you use more gas and cost you more money :(
DUDE wtf are you thinking . that extra 12v 20 amps is nothing off your alt/battery the 8-15 more MPG off 1 of these systems is a 2-3$ per mile saving . you have no clue STFU stop opening your mouth unless you ahve 100% proof that its not worth it ya JOKE.
So....you think a device claiming to magically give you 8-15 MPG from an impossibly minuscule amount of hydrogen works even though no major company endorses such a product...it's a fairly obvious scam. I'm not sure why so many people like you seem so emotionally attached to the scam. Water4gas, runyourcarwithwater, etc....these websites are run by scam artists.
Scam? The only thing i got scammed out of is time and $100 in material. IT IS NOT A BOLT ON ITEM, even by GM/Ford standards. There are too many "issues" in making the system work. My van makes more power, better MPG, less emissions, and it forced Me to "tune" the engine to run better with or without HHO. You get what you pay for in time and money. I hope you got what you paid for in anger and time it takes you to type mean things. Someone is going to "scam" ways to help our 100 year old engines.
Lol, I just realized something really funny. In your comment, you said, "the 8-15 more MPG off 1 of these systems is a 2-3$ per mile saving ."
Man, learn how to do math. You've gotta have a pretty terrible vehicle if you're paying 2-3 dollars per mile. Even a Hummer doesn't use that much gas...
Ya noone will endorse them cus they are not 100% idiot proof It is not a scam you been looking at Junk boosters with 2-4 plates Check out a could system like Smack and Post about how these are junk and a scam and see how bad he rips you a new one. These sytems have potential to Explode if not properly maintained this is the only reason its not mas marketed . BTW i meant Per gallon .If ya have any more doubts or like to open you mouth more Post some with Smack on Smack university youtube videos.
You seem like a very angry person. Maybe you should take a couple hours to cool off. Then you can come back and write something more sensible.
I searched for 'smack HHO' and this was the first thing I found: watch?v=BU8c8bM3HVo
Can you not hear how hard the engine has to work to produce enough electricity to make the hydrogen? It was making about 1 liter per minute....you honestly think that's going to give you 8-15 MPG?
How's the Bug?...
