  • Haven't met all the new crew members, hahahaha. :D I miss Star Trek. REAL Star Trek, that is.

  • lets all laugh at Worf for his lack of centuries old musical culture from an alien species.

Also I am surpised that Data requires all of his millions of calculations per second to participate in a sing-a-long. Allowing him to be distracted.

  • I think the lyrics are wrong in one place, where the description says "His foot should stamp", i think they sing "His heart should stamp". Just a small correction, thanks for posting this vid!

  • LOL "Sing Worf, Sing!"

    "No."

  • Well, that was the highlight, folks, of THAT Trek film...

  • @obiwanobiwan13 My parents, who could care less about STAR TREK, *loved* when I made them a CD with an mp3 of this scene. :)

  • One of my favorite scenes in that movie.

  • i love how many similarities are in gilbert and sullivans hms pinafore and this movie very good reference

  • @ 0:56 worf not singing...

  • this is act 1 song 10 just in case any1 missed it cos the was to busy laughing at worf

  • who laughed at 0:22

  • 24th Century Karaoke? LMAO

  • @theoneandonlyotaku at least we sum things wont change in the 24th century

  • When it involves fighting, Worf joins in! LOL

  • @Philflash: LOL!!

  • these guys do just as good a job as Kelsey Grammer did during that Simpsons episode as Sideshow Bob while Bart was trying to distract him on that river lol

  • @chrisbrown456 : No Kelsey was better!! He had to do the WHOLE thing!!

  • @NobleKorhedron

When he was little, Kelsey's voice teacher wanted him to grow up to be an opera singer. He has admitted that until his role on "Frasier" he never really had much of an appreciation for opera, although he could sing with the best of them.

  • I love Data. :D

one of the best chars in all of Star Trek! ^_^

  • Am I the only one who noticed that Picard made a mistake while singing?

  • @xx195x: What mistake?

  • Sing, Worf, sing xD

  • The average Starfleet evasive manoeuvre takes about 50 button pushes... but it only takes 4 button pushes to activate "Musical Repertoire Mode"

  • @sword4thelord Most maneuvers are done by entering coordinates along the vertical axis and horizontal axis based on a 360 degree circle. Thus, turning to the right and down is 090-045.

  • @ElTee842 you need the Z axis for space as well... surely.

  • @sword4thelord If you're putting the coordinates of where you want to go into the computer, then yes you need to z-axis and 6 points to calculate the point in space. For a course correction/change (which is what evasive maneuvers are) you just need to change the pitch and yaw of the ship. Imagine two wheels, with one going vertically through the ship and the other on the horizontal plane, going from 0-359 degrees. The horizontal wheel changes yaw, and the vertical is pitch.

  • @sword4thelord

and in the rebel alliance all it takes is 1 joystick, 1 throttle, and 2 buttons, to evade, shoot, and lay in hyperspace co-ordinates.

  • @sword4thelord: ROTFL at that one!! :-D

  • @sword4thelord

There is no arbitrary amount of button pushes. For the most part, the actors are just banging on the buttons at random.

  • @douro20 In the ST: TNG technical manual, they explain that the control panels are highly customizable in order to better suit whoever is using them. Therefore, the button that may fire phasers one week might do something different the next week.

  • @sword4thelord yes. because activating the musical repertoire mode, executing an evasive maneuver requires the systematic activation and controlling of several different thrusters placed around the ship in such a matter that it would move the ship in the desired direction, in the desired manner, without over shooting the intended destination.

  • @krimzonknight what in gods name are you on about?? how on earth do you know this??????????????????

  • @thecowmanisherenow Its the theory behind Star Trek's science. In space there'd need to be various thrusters placed around the ship in such a way that it allows the ship to maneuver and stop. Cause otherwise it would continue to drift through space in a single direction until it hit something. As for activating the Music as compared to actually flying the ship... music would be just a few buttons compared to flying the ship which would require more because of the thrusters

  • @thecowmanisherenow and as for how I know this... I'm a Nerd. always have been. always will be. :P

  • @krimzonknight i am a nerd as well but i dont know about the intricate details of flying a federation starship or runabout

  • @thecowmanisherenow ah. well. I've done alot of research into stuff like that. Both Star Trek and Star Wars.

  • @sword4thelord Picard has Gilbert and Sullivan in his favorites bar

  • This was very funny indeed, but ... Am I the only one wondering, why Picards human brain was LESS distracted by the singing than Data's said-to-be Supercomputer-Brain? Sure, Captains are trained at multitasking, but Computers are BUILD for multitasking...

  • Because Picard was planning to use this as a distraction, while Data just got carried away?

  • @QemeH @Vandergeek I agree with both of you...and I think it's also because Data's "brain" was already kinda messed up from that blast while undercover on the mission.

Regardless of why or how....this was simply awesome and hilarious at the same time!!!

  • they are so lucky that Bret Spiner could carry a tune

  • @Theroha Yeah, he's a pretty good singer, as is Patrick Stewart.

  • @Theroha They probably did this scene specifically because he does sing (the same thing occurred in Nemesis).

  • @Theroha

But he can't really do a good Joker.

  • @Theroha He can apparently play most of the instruments that Data did in the tv series

  • This had to have been the funniest part of the movie. Thanks for uploading this.
