Love the photos of the horses. Love horses, wild or otherwise. What I really get upset about is the lack of correct spelling, especially in material distributed to the public domain. It would seem that spelling is no longer taught or considered to important by our educators.

Wild horses are living today free and happy. I've seen them on Cape Look Out in the Outer Banks, North Carolina. One day a colt got separated from the herd as the tide was coming in. Some of the stallions went down to one end of the island where the water was shallow enough for the small colt to cross while the herd waited and watched. They kept encouraging the colt to come; he finally did just in time. It was an amazing thing to see. A horse running free, that is what pure joy looks like.

the wild horses are awesome where i live. it is always nice to see the local herd. but they are being taken away. the wild horses are not destructive. it is the cattle. the farmers put up fences to keep the horses away from the food and water supply.

hahah right?! besides wild horses are romanticized in real life here and now in this age they wouldn't survive. not enough land or food supply. They were nearly wiped out because of how destructive they are. They tear up the ground as bad as any buffalo and not to mention trees fences ect. I love horses they are my passion and I'm all for not breaking them completely but I'm realistic about it too lol.

It is a "catch 22" Starvation is not pretty,so saving a horse through adoption is good.Overbreeding is always a problem whether it be equine, cannine, or feline. I have a 3 year old colt and he will be gelded in Feb 09

Or you can be a rancher and sign up for the program where they feed and care for 100's of wild horses. Ree Drummond, the Pioneer Woman and her family do that. They have literally hundreds on the wild horses on their ranch in Oklahoma and the government pays them to care for them while leaving them wild.

neither are you. horses can share an incredible bond with their people! there's a deep friendship for some of them, and they are always happy when their humans are about. I've seen horses that are so attached to one person that they pine away if the person died: a love like that, do you need to be free? starving in the cold? Don't get me wrong, wild and free horses are incredible, but those that live with us can be happy as well.

I agree with you on this I have a horse and he and I are the bestest of friends he know's my voice and comes to me in the feild. But wild horses are nice but I belive that the horses that people have are happy to because they know thier loved.
