Too much water. Why bother with a superplasticizer if you intend to mix in as much water as a standard mix?

the superplasticizer is mainly used to minimize the internal friction of the grain structure. This is why the concrete looks quite liquid. The amount of water is almost the same compared to standard concrete. second major difference is the higher fines content and lower coarse grain content. this is proper for elements with a hight percentage of reinforcement because it decreases the chance that the aggregate gets stuck.
