  • UPDATE: I am trying to preheat the intake air a little in my VW Passat, and it gives about 6% more mpg in addition to the 15% the humidifier gives :-) It is not so much heat in addition, so I will try to get the air even hotter as a test.

  • Nice ! I will give it a try,it's a bit like the "steam" injection!

    Cheers , Bill

  • Thanks! Please let us know how it works for you :-) It is similar to steaminjection, but this is cold vapour. But if the intake hoses are long, the steam will cool down vefore it reaches the engine. So it might be the same.

  • I have so far seen a 5% increase in mileage on our Skoda. But that car is so effective as it is, so the low increase might be due to that. But I have actually got 80,7mpg (imperial)/67,2mpg(US) at long trips!! The best results before the watervaporizer was 76,3/63,6mpg. That car has also amagnet from a harddiskdrive on the fuelline, that probably gives about 15% as well. But that took about 2 years for the magnets to increase the mileage.

  • I am not sure about the magnets... maybe the diesel blend has changed over the years due to global warming mitigation on governments worldwide. :-)
