Being realistic, Schiff has no shot. Rand does. We can actually get Rand into the Senate. This would be huge for the country.

A Rasmussen Reports poll show's incumbent Dodd at 39% and Schiff at 40%, so I'd say his chances are good. The highest polling Republican only has a 8 point lead right now over Schiff.

I think Paul and Schiff both have excellent chances, but even if they didn't, I'd still continue to donate to both of them. I support candidates based on principles, not odds of winning.

Starting another third party won't help. There are 3rd parties. The problem is the current system excludes 3rd parties. They can't get in on debates, etc. Ron Paul tried running 3rd party in the past and he agrees that reforming the Republican party is the way to go. Rand is correct to run as a Republican. Get rid of the corrupt people running the 2 parties and have them run by good candidates like Rand. It is possible for us to aid these candidates and people can do more than just one vote.

I had a Rand Paul table at the Louisville gun show this past weekend, and one at the Lexington gun show two weeks before that. When I had a Lexington gun show table back in the spring, a few Kentucky gun owners knew about Rand Paul, but most were just hearing about him for the first time. Now, they know all about him and they're just there to get bumper stickers, buttons that proclaim "I'm A Rand Fan", and yard signs, and they're getting several of each for friends and family.

Rand is a tireless campaigner. He works full time as an eye surgeon owning his own business, and he's on the road traveling all over the state on Saturday and Sunday, and he makes evening appearances during the week. Kentuckians LOVE Rand because his message is what they've been dying to hear. Our Republican leaders sold us out long ago and the voters are discouraged by the choice between the Democratic Socialist Party and the Republican Socialist Lite Party.

When Kentuckians hear Rand, they want to vote for him. They tell their friends, family, and co-workers about him. They give him money.

My wife has been calling all over the state, to each targeted area prior to a Rand speaking engagement, about three or four times a week, with a few hours of calling for each event. Our local Campaign For Liberty group has some money we're going to spend on a grassroots radio ad on AM talk radio to get people out to the next local event. They love Rand too.

Being a political unknown, Rand started his exploratory committee last spring with almost no public recognition. Now, he's leading in the last USA Survey poll by 3%, and the exponential growth in name recognition and approval continues to build.

There will be some political dirty tricks to come. This is Kentucky politics, after all. But so far, they've tried a few things and those have only managed to backfire on them. Their video stalker was outed on YouTube. Their bankster bailout fundraising was beaten by a money bomb. Their claim that Rand isn't a real Kentuckian because he moved here 18 years ago was countered with, "Rand has been a Kentuckian a lot longer than your guy (a Clinton delegate) has been a Republican".
