I kinda like this song. tim might not be the best with vocals but he is a great musician. i agree, its just demo recorded for tom to get the idea of the song. they fine tune it n stuff... KEANE FOREVER
People don't forget it's just a demo and demos usually sound like shit. I think they could have transformed it into a beautiful song, with piano and Tom's voice. I for one find the backing vocals kind of mesmerizing.
People were shocked by how different perfect symmetry was from the first two albums but if you listen to their early demos, you can hear that Keane originally sounded like that, maybe not as heavy on the 80's synth-pop as perfect symmetry, but you can still hear it in the early demos . They went in a circle so maybe their next album will go back to how they sounded in hopes and fears..?
@KatieohsoRaNdOm Well, I don't think that they've always been like this... In H&F they were piano-rock, then they tried to create new sounds with the piano in UTIS. The whole PS album was just them reemerging after all those problems with Tom's drug abuse, almost ending their relationship.. and they used lots of different sounds. Night Train was just experimental while they were on tour, as Tim said a "why not?" album. But Tim also recently said that they're new album will be like UTIS again.

You should listen to the demos with Dominic singing from before 2000. Way before Hopes and Fears, and sounds nothing like it. Keane is NOT Hopes and Fears. They are quite more diverse than that. And Under the Iron Sea was epic. Besides, there are tons of B sides and unreleased songs that sound like they belong on Hopes and Fears. Just search here on Youtube.
Tim hat dieses Lied zur selben Zeit wie Untitled 1 geschrieben, aber es eben nie veröffentlich. Er sagt aber selbst, dass es mehr zur aktuellen Perfect-Symmetry-Phase passen würde ;-)
