The guy who went from Racer X to Judas Priest, Scott Travis is an amazing & powerful genius. Morgan Rose from Sevendust is quite good. Mike Bordin from Faith No More is great. And I like the drummers for Killswitch Engage and some of those newer metal bands like Diecast, Shadows Fall, Chimera. i never understood the fascination w/Portnoy, Jordison and many of the "fastest ever".

@1789crazy He's not even one of the best, Guys like Vinnie, Buddy and Dave Weckl have chops that far exceed anything joey has ever done, and he has only stuck to one genre, where as Vinnie has played with command in a ton of different genres, and he played with Frank Zappa, Joey wouldn't have had a chance of being good enough to do that. Its fine if you like his drumming, Jimmy Chamberlin is my favorite drummer, but i don't think he is one of the best, i just like his style.
