  • How does a person go about volunteering to drive a brand new truck or SUV like that for a car manufacturer? I've been down a lot of horrible trails here in Idaho that would make that trail seem like a highway. A lot of people truly don't know what they're 4WD can do and most never will.

  • Oh god damn, I was in Big Sky last year during July. It felt wonderful!

  • Recalls don't mean their unreliable my uncle has a Lexus IS 300 with 134,000 miles.

  • anything that will make a woman driver drive like she's not a slampiece is worth 65 g's.

  • well nice

  • What the hell is that? My wife's Toyota Altezza (IS200) can do that shit. Going downhill on loose shale is hardly a challenge for any vehicle. Go look up the Land Rover Defender and you see REAL offroad! I love Toyota but this guy is a dick!

  • Oh golly gosh !!!!. Get real, An fj 40 would have kept up with you.

  • land cruiser is the best car

  • A fucking 2CV can do this

  • Well I will say the Landcruiser is by far the best over all suv that money can buy. I have a 97 Landcruiser and i has been a joy to own and drive. The thing is a tank and never breaks. The only thing that has went bad on it is the starter and i say after 12 years the starter should be going out. I think someone mentioned a ford in here. I see more fords broke down on the side of the road than any other vehicle. If it came to the best american truck then chevy is superior but toyota is better.

  • it came out in australia in 2011

  • how did you get the fj cruiser

  • Gimme a 200 with the 4.5 biturbo diesel here in the USA ... PLEASE !!!

  • i hate how they turned this into a luxury car that costs 60k+

  • @carguy379 In other parts of the world, you can buy this with little options for as little as $33k. Yes, it will be the basic 4.0 v6 but it is a landcruiser.

  • current gen range rover = yuppie / hiphop trash

  • I just want to share with you this information:

In the middle east (where I came from) the Land Cruiser is actually used by 99% of the people who lives in the deserts and mountains, and this test is actually a daily routine for most people living there. Believe me, no car what so ever can survive this torture except these incredible Toyotas.

  • @VistaApple Yeah especially here in Saudi

The Land Cruiser sales is just Crazy, most of the people I know they own one, including me of course.

And when I heard the word (Japan), tow things come to my mind (Sony and Toyota).

  • @meshary5 هلا يا مشاري.. . والله كلامك صح.. وازيدك من الشعر بيت .. ماحد يقدر قيمة التويوتا الا اللي عايش في البر أو في الجبال

    ومشكور على مرورك يا الغلا

  • living and working in africa [kenya], we use 7 year old landcruisers since duty on new vehicles is high. therfore we use landcruiser which have already done 70-100,000 miles on the clock for a further 7 years minimum ex UK, ex Japan models,. thus landcruisers here you can find doing over 200-300,000 miles on African roads a true testiment to their reliability. the 100 series and the prado is the king here and everything else is just a compramise.

  • amazing vehicle, but they're getting bigger and bigger. Problem is 70k and it looks similar to a highlander.

is that manzanita in the background?

  • There is not a single good European offroader. Land Rover? Always gets the most unreliable award every fucking year when Land Cruiser does the complete opposite and get the job done both.

It's no wonder why Toyota is the biggest automaker in the entire world. Even Lexus LX, which is based on LC is epic. Looks so much better than a Mercedes GL and G class, which perform and look like Made in China with extremely high maintenance fee.

  • land cruiser=best car toyota makes hand down in my opinion

  • big deal on crawl control.

I've driven on Loose Shale with a 2wd Ranger with an Open Diff.

If you don't need the luxury, .i.e not a fat ass.

or the electronic brains , i.e. not a dumb ass.

You can do everything you saw in this video with 2nd hand pick up truck and installing a rear locker.

You don't even need 4wd, or lift kit, nothing.

Prolly cost you $6000 USD total for truck and locker.

This is assuming you live in North America.

  • @subinct you must be pretty amazing, uncouth but amazing.. bye bye

  • @subinct You must be one hell of a redneck hillbilly driver.

  • @subinct To bad its pretty much agreed around the world that the Land Cruiser is the best offroad vehicle that comes from a factory.

  • @subinct I don't think you can do the same this truck does with an old pick up, However, nobody is saying the LC is comparable with a wrangler or a defender, which are pure of road beasts.

  • @subinct You are not getting the point of these vehicles. If you only need to go offroad, you can get much further with something else than a pickup truck. Buy old tractor or a good ATV, and it goes places where trucks don't go.

Point of a vehicle lice LC200, is to be excellent ON road, and good OFFroad, same time being very comfrot and spacious. I don't believe that your 4000$ pickup could get even close of the LC in terms of comfort, and luxury touring vehicle. It's a multi purpose vehicle.

  • @subinct so your saying that only fat ass needs luxury? You can't even imagine in your wet dreams how much sport activity I'm doing every week but when it comes to my comfort (my home, my car, etc) I love luxury...

  • @subinct No For Ranger allow here. Shit FORD that I hate

  • @subinct

If you know what your doing most situations don't require 4WD or a locker. I however, would rather own a 4WD and not need it, than to need it and not have it. The BS about extra cost for servicing a 4WD is just that its total BS. I don't spend anymore money on my truck to have it serviced than my neighbor does with his car at the same shop.

  • so how you were saying about the truck driving itself essentialy , how dose that work is it just ideling or what?

  • Toyota is the best, but value for money has to be a nissan terrano.

  • mitsubishi pajero is the besttttttttttttttttttt not a single one compete it pajero shogun the best........

  • buy a proper off roader.

  • I like the 4runner better.

  • up on mine sites, land cruisers and the Mitsubishi equivalent are the only things used. everything else just falls apart, literally

  • land cruisers are for yuppies that need a little extra something to get through their gravel driveways....of course, until those rotten contractors get around to paving them...those japs dont know anything about offroading...buy a jeep or an h1

  • خراي عليكم كلكم وهذا يازق انت وياه للطعوس عندنا

  • $65,000 haaaaa.... Why did I pay $80,000 for a Hyundai Santa Fe in Sri Lanka???

  • @slavaener..u right mehn...who needs a limo inna d forest?

  • Maybe that car has good off road skills (It WAS Toyota Land Cruiser)

but 1. It still needs modifications , little lift , bigger wheels etc...

    2. It is ugly and has no wheel on the back

    3. Tell me who the fuck needs such a limousine in forest, mud, or river????????

  • Give me a few examples then.

  • Why is the 4 runner and the other Toyota SUVS around 30K when the land runner is pre tax starting at 60k?

  • @Maxipad44142

The Land Cruiser is a very luxurious vehicle with alot of features

Plus it has some of the best off road technology.

Its basically like a Platinum sequoia and a lot of offroad capabilities

  • Land Cruisers, or any other Toyota SUV are the best offroad. I have a 1985 Toyota 4runner, and I thrash it pretty well off road but it still works fine. It's pretty much impossible to stop a Toyota.

  • yeah..seriously impossible to stop a toyota..thats why toyota needs to recall their cars to stop it..(well except for the land cruiser..it is really unstoppable..but other toyotas...uhhh...)

  • ahem...you're leaving out the FJ Cruiser...

  • Land Cruisers are fucking epic.

  • А где оффроад???!!!

  • Off road with the 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser free at W W W . TV-Video . us

  • TOYOTA please offer the V8 DIESEL version too in the N/A Market.

  • Comment removed

  • Дерьмо а не тест!

  • in our country, this big ute equipped with the charming plant D4D V8...legendary cruiser..

  • id rather have the 5 litre range rover the 2010 one they are faster i think better offroad and nicer to look at and be in although if a couldnt own any landy i would take this over a jeep any day the diesel is a beast in these lc's and compared to a jeep's interior this thing looks amazing.

  • godzillaisnuclea123

The Range Rover and Jeep are not realible like the Land Cruiser.

When you are talking about Land Cruiser you are talking about the most realible vehicle in the world.

  • @omar03dammam Well, that's the image that marketing and sales people want to create. But, a simple fact that can also be seen from reliability surveys is that, Land Cruiser is nowhere near the most reliable. It's also a mathematical fact, that such a complicate vehicle as LC200, can not be the most reliable. But that I agree, Toyotas are far more reliable than Land Rovers are, which are horribly unreliable. Also Jeep's are technically much different, and are known to bee worse reliability wise.

  • @omar03dammam oh Toyota is not reliable at first !! Wake up and read 10 MILLION recalls !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @omar03dammam You arent kidding. I got a 93 land cruiser.. As my first car. Its the best.

  • This vehicle comes with a V8 Gasoline engine while in some other markets equipped with V8 D-4D Diesel common rail engine.

  • That's comleetly diffrerent model. This is a Land Cruiser V8,sucssesor of the Cruiser 100 series. And there's smaller model Land Cruiser 90 or Prado at some markets. These are coming with D-4D engines. 90 is smaller, cheaper but not weeker. Allmost everything that big one can do,smaller can to. Thay are both great SUVs.

  • big deal my bmw will have no problem going over this terrain

  • yeah sure...put it on a real tough terrain and you'll see the whole diference beetwen Land Cruiser and X5. Land Cruiser is been made for nearly 50 years,X5 about 5-6 . First Cruisers were military weachilces. Land Cruiser is amoung the best SUVs in the world. With Range Rover.

  • i dought that how about u take a video of it then?

  • land cruiser is the best here in the philippines

  • the v8 diesel is astonishing ... 650 nm torque !!!

  • toyota is the best

  • for $65000 id rather have a bmw x5

  • Uhhm, I don't see why you'd want a BMW X5. Land Cruisers are known for their durability and their off road capabilities which is shown in this video. I like X5s too, but never over a Land Cruiser. I'd rather have a Land Cruiser than a Range Rover.

  • fuck jeep buy toyota

  • Nice video :-)

  • Why would you want to shift in this kind of terrain? What Americans should be doing is buying Jeeps instead of Toyotas. The Cherokee can do that as well.

  • thats stupids americans does not know how drive with manual changes

  • The new LandCruiser features upgraded engines with improved fuel economy. Customers have the choice between a 4.7 Litre V8 petrol engine and a 4.5 Litre Twin Turbo diesel engine. At PressPortal we reviewed the GXL V8 Petrol and absolutely loved the grunt it supplied, the 202 kW is a figure below what we expected but the 410 Nm @ 3400 rpm was addictive.qoute, only lexus have the 5.7 L v8

  • good job nice video

  • It''s a 4.6 V8

  • It is a 5.7L i-Force V8, with DVVT-i (Dual Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence). Nicest SUV on the planet.

  • thats really sad.. ive never driven this car and even i know its 5.7 ltr. V8........

  • different markets get different engines. I live in australia. we get the choice of 4.7L V8 petro or 4.5L V8 diesel.

I do believe in america you have the 5.7L V8 petrol. But why would anyone want any of the petrol models when the V8 diesel is as good as it is.

  • we get the 5.7 here its the standard engine and only engine on the 200 series, the 4.7 was standard in the 100 series

  • @billzervakos

how fast to 60mph? i think the prado is a better off roader, see the new video of it

  • @billzervakos 4.7 v8

  • is that a v6 or v8?

  • v8 baby

  • ok i dont know why i got -2 votes xD

  • I came back to watch your posting again. We test in Australia with the Toyota vehicles. You have got one of the best narration voices for this video that's for sure. All the best for your future travels!

  • Appreciate your comments and love to hear about and/or see some of your test results.

  • No problem at all mate.

Have just posted up 5 days ago our 76 Series adventure up north Queensland, and are set to film across the Kimberley region (north-west Australia) with the 200 series towing a van in the next few months. Will let you know how we go.

Thanks again for the note, and safe travels!

  • Yeah I have alway's liked the LC's, the new one's, although pricey, are very well capable.

  • Pathfinder it is OFFROADER?! LC and pajero better than Pathfinder!

  • they can't take the WAY like nissan pathfinder and it is too low of earth .

  • i prefer this over sequoia. the toyota. sequoia is really lazy car and it's also too soft.

  • THIS IS A SERIOUS OFF ROAD CAR.

THE BST OFF ROAD AND ON ROAD SUV in the WORLD !!!!!!!!!

  • well..pajero and land cruiser was nothing bad...pajero's suspension better than land cruiser

pajero have independent suspension and the land cruiser is solid axle..

sometime offroad land cruiser rear tyre did Suspended...the pajero's engine is 3.2 liter..

it less than land cruiser..the only engine loss to land cruiser

  • I find them both impressive :D My dad had both (not at the same time...) First the LC than the Pajero... 2 Awesome vehicles

  • The Pajero maybe an excellent Off-Roader but fails on On-Road performance. The New LC On-Road handling has greatly improved than the previous model. But I'd still prefer a Pajero due to it's low price. I could live with that body-roll.. lol

  • Comment removed

  • well you cannot compare betwen the land cruiser and the pajero, the pajero much better..

  • I replay on truthscaveneger:

Even the not modified one is better, if you think that land cruisers better than a pajero, then you must have never ever ever drive a PAJERO.

I respect land cruiser it is an amazing 4×4 bu will never come near a pajero!!

  • my friend have two land cruisers, one 3.0 and 4.5

  • jus me thinken, but i kinda think the older suv's toyota, ford, dodge, all of the, were pretty good off-raod,but in todays time id be worried bout the paint,or under the suv

  • Very nice. I actually drive one, not exactly this model, but the one before it. I also have an old 1970's FJ40. Great suv!

Don't get too worried about the price. although the beast is quite expensive, it'll repay the sticker price twenty-fold due to its reliability and workman-like ruggedness.

The U.N. and the W.H.O. don't buy these things (as well as the Land Rover, but in fewer numbers) because they're dainty and cute. This thing is a beast.

  • Pajero is better than this LC, can this thing cross the Dakar rally like what the pajero did more then 10 times..??

  • Yeah something like that.

Pajero is definetely better value for money. The 2010 new Pajero will challenge truly LC200 as well in comfort and other things. The existing Pajero is great due its completely lockable rear and center diffs and its quite light compared to LC, it goes better on slippy and deep terrains, snow, mud, sand.

  • those are modified. nothing comes close to the land cruiser except the H1 hummer.

  • One thing though.. the Pajero fails on On-Road performance.. I have driven both New models. The Pajero has serious body-roll issues.. While the LC has some reliability issues particularly electronic problems.

  • This car is cimply amazing. The engine is more powerful than the Porsche Cayenne, and with both Diff Lockers and a lift kit, its simply unstoppable.

The Only bad side is that there has been so much technology - like the CRAWL system - which makes it an expenseive and difficult to service car. Toyota need to return to basic models (like the 80 series) and work upwards, and have the option of discarding all the expensive technology. After all, the 200 starts at $74,000AU

  • Land Cruiser is the best offroader thats for sure.

It not a boulivard suv like a chayenne.

  • Toyota Land Cruiser - Only machine to cross antartica. One of two machine to be used exclusively across Africa and Austraila (outback), for hundreds of years now. Sorry - Jeep lovers - Jeep cant hang with the reliablity on Toyota Land Cruiser in the deserts of Africa and Austraila.

  • The second machine is the Land Rover defender 110, 2 dr and 4dr.

  • Damn straight they cant!!

  • the land cruiser is also great for the sand dune in the middle east, going to high speeds, burnouts, driving on 2 wheels and its a great family car.

  • I used to be a huge Toyota fan, there reliability has slipped in the last few years, any yes they build some incredible Toyotas in Iceland/Antartica to travel on the snow and Ice, too bad you couldn,t buy something like this from the showroom or at least half way. With enough effort you could just as easily modify a Subaru and do the same thing.

  • This vehicle does not excite me at all! This has little articulation and small tires. Not something I would buy if I intend on going off road. I would buy an older Land Cruiser with the solid axle and stuff 35/37 inch tires with an Old Man Emu articulation kit, There is no way this new vehicle could follow the older LC around! It's a nice SUV, just don't use the word off road on such a princess!

  • did you ever drive one of these things?

  • I am sure that it would be a great ride and luxurious, and yes it can do moderate off road. I believe the direction Toyota should be aiming for is less bells and whistles and more off road ability, larger tires and double the axle articulation, improve the approach and departure...That is all I am suggesting. All the best.

  • I don't get it, you don't like the New LC because it has small tires.. and you'll buy an old LC and fit larger tires.. Makes no sense.. Why not equipt the New LC with larger tires.. in that way, it'll be unstoppable..

  • Volvo XC90 Rocks man

  • Range Rover is the best !!

  • is it better than hammer and jeep?

    may be jeep is better

  • Land Cruiser Rules Man

  • it deffinately takes the fun out of it

  • I am horrified to watch both of you actually wrapping your thumb around the steering wheel while off road! Recipe for disaster at the best of times!

  • While I appreciate your concern this was not all that radical and although you're tactically correct, in my humble opinion "horrified" is a bit over the edge. You must be a pro at this stuff.

  • vai seus abestalhados

    kkkkkkkk

  • 'automatic 4x4ing'\

takes the fun and skill outta it...

  • i soo wnat to to do this when i grow up...what should i do?..im 4 months from graduation

  • that was wimp trails, my lowered bmw 540 can do that.

  • Where here offroad?

  • Big Sky Montana Ski Resort.

    It was lots-O-fun

  • they should have made in in diesel

  • They do! come to Australia

  • and they did... diesel LC is not available in US probably because they failed emission test but all countries worldwide have diesel with 4.8L V8 and V6.

  • * or V6 in some countries... sorry my mistake.

  • Nice, thanks for that

  • i think i prefer Prado, i don't know whats the difference anyway?

  • Hi "djkasdjkasdjdjdj" its the width, hight and general size, engine's are bigger. The Prado is a smaller version but still great. (not that they are small)

  • toyota landcruiser is the perfect escape vehicle when that ILLEGAL DRUG DEAL GOES BAD, OR THAT PEACE NEGOTIATION FAILS. no wonder the druglords love it. no wonder the UN dumped the Range Rover for Toyota Landcruiser.

try to escape in a jeep or a ford or a chevy in a bad drug deal in colombia and the next thing you now, you're dead on the streets. and if you escape in a Range Rover or any American SUV in the middle east or in africa when that peace deal goes sour, you're DEAD.

  • i agree!

  • good point, but the in range rover you would look cooler!!!

  • Look coller in a Range Rover - broken down on the side of the road with major electrical and gasket problems.

  • oh and he would look way cooler with the engine of his Range Rover blown up and on fired on the road. that would ve so cool and laughable. i'll be proud to lend a help with my Landcruiser.

  • yeah, you would look so cool or way cooler being stucked on the road with your Range Rover. now that would be so cool.

  • i want to get the last landcruiser model. maybe i'll get the 2006 version. the 2008 is too soft and feminine. it even looks like a blown up toyota Highlander.

Landcruisers are the most recognizable suv around the globe. you see them on every continent, especially severe weather and landscape environment. no wonder the UN, UNICEF, Peacecorps, EU, and many othe peace keeper organizations make the Landcruiser their escape vehicle.

  • TOYOTA is the best brand WORLDWIDE!! I see LAND CRUISERS in EUROPE, SAUDI ARABIA, SOUTH AMERICA, AUSTRALIA while the range rover in EUROPE and maybe NORTH AMERICA... thats it! TOYOTA LAND CRUISER IS WORLDWIDE! THE BEST 4X4!

  • oh yes and try that with any Range Rover, and the next thing you know your engine is on FIRE!!!! RANGE ROVER IS so fucking pathetic. my dad's brand new $90,000 Range Rover went on flame on the freeway of Los Angeles, and we're not even rock climbing. we're on a freakin freeway. that junk just went on fire. the engine blow up. it guess it has to do with the summer heat.

Toyota Landcruise would not do stupid thing like that on the freeway.

  • durablity dosen't pervent poor driving skills, any engine could catch on fire if over reved1

  • that's not poor driving skill. that's irresponsible driving skill. irresponsible driving habit can put anything on fire, even one's very own ass.

  • Range Rover is better than that piece of shit

  • R u kiddin? Toyota is the best car mark, and ever will be duh

  • but she have right. toyota lc 2008 y model is shit.that is so heavy and so big at u dont want that. and u dont klimb with this ''house'' but all older version of lc is really good.

i have toyota lc120 2004 year and its climb like a animal.

  • maybe you forgot that the americans are FAT. your 2004 landcruiser will not fit most americans today. toyota has to accomidate its fat american customers, so they the the landcruiser bigger so fat americans can fit in.

  • WOAH WOAH!! hey im American and im not fat! what r u talking about

  • this car is too big and heavy to go off road... not like the other series...

  • my pusssy is wet C

  • lol

  • awesome ride!

  • This is definately the prize to take home once you've made it in life

  • wtf is a mogul?

  • Yep I want one please.

take a look at my landcruiser 100 series just not as good as this baby

  • Yep I want one please.

take a look at my landcruiser 100 series just not as good as this baby

  • A G wagen would make that Toyota look like the mall cruiser it is.

  • Your a fool !

Are you talking about the merc G wagon??? then one thats based on a Mercedes 307D Van !

  • number1Schumacherfan: A G wagen would make that Toyota look like the mall cruiser it is.

    --

G-Wagen is an old, rusty design that belongs to the past and should've been ditched for years. Mercedes simply forgot to stop to make it

Land Cruiser is the best of both worlds, its durable hardcore off-roader, a comfy and ultrasafe family tank, a workhorse or a luxury SUV, whatever you want it to be. In a G-Wagen, something like comfort remains unknown.

But how can a German Kartoffel know this??

  • these are for deep pockets

  • this land Land Cruiser have a 5.7L engine and 381 HP and 401 Ft-Lbs its nice for a Land Cruiser

  • I assume that's not an actual question.

  • Which of these jeeps is better: a Toyota Landcruiser or a Nissan Pathfinder?

  • Thats amazing for jap scrap. But childs play for a Jeep!

  • Land crusier would rip a jeep to scraps

  • are you serious? the land cruiser beats jeep any day...with the powerful V8 and all the off-road technology in the land cruiser...people dont pay $65,000+ for nothing. jeep rocks in off roading, but cant beat the landcruiser

  • When your paying 65,000 your paying for the fancy leather and toyota name. The old land cruisers were pretty amazing off road and where very reliable but the new ones are nothing like there forefathers. With this new land cruiser everything is electric and prone to breakage. Unlike the old land cruiser were everything was mechanical. This new one wont be able to hold up like the old one

  • ya i agree....the old landcruisers were stronger. but if i was in the market for buying a car, i wouldnt trust any other car makers more than Toyota. their reliability is fantastic and i guess the re-sale value explains it. even if everything is electric, i would have to say the landcruiser is stronger than any other high-luxury off road vehicles.the forefathers of the landcruisers were the beast. ruled the land.

  • the only SUV i'll buy is a Land Cruiser or Nissan Safari
