@karenjimenez - Karen, call our customer service (607-847-8154) and we'll try to get some samples out to you. There actually were some of the blue (just the blue, for some reason) packets around here. We be happy to send you some. ALSO, for anyone trying OPEN... remember to try the Thinner with it - that's key. If you thin these paints with water, as some people have, the paint loses a lot of its open qualities.
I want something between Open Acrylics and heavy body. A 10 minute or so drying time. I'm currently using Heavy Body + a water atomizer and a retarder, is this my best choice atm?
@suntanners - the solution is even easier than that... since OPEN Acrylics are compatible with our Heavy Body Acrylics, you simply mix the two (same colors) and you'll get just that -- a faster OPEN or slower Heavy Body color -- without diluting your color as will happen with a medium or weaken the film as might happen with water or retarder.
Hey guys, why arent there the primary colors in the Open Acrylic range? Same as the heavy body ones/fluid one. (Primary Cyan, Primary Magenta, Primary Yellow)
I know this depends a lot on the depth of the paintfilm in the amount of time to dry (yeah, i took chemistry and physics), but can you give artists some sort of chart as to what to expect?
So, maybe a chart where you do a drawdown at different thicknesses and measured for dry time? Just sayin... that would be handy. After all why have all those laboratory guys sitting around updating their Facebook status when we could all benefit?
We do provide some guidelines around dry times if you check out the tech sheet we link to in the 'More Info' section of the video. However, your suggestions are good ones and we will definite take note of them - so thanks!
Anyone in the mood for reese's pieces now?
