sorry i 4got, just d way in linux dey luv to give things weird names, major downfall in my opinion. Linux doesnt have a chance without google to be honest, which is rumored to be developing a linux platform similar to ubuntu, oh and android (gphone os)
I know that dummy! read! i said gphone "os" and it was in brackets just so people knew what Android actually was , geez... again I said gphoneOS not just a phone by google... chill out and read comments before you flame like that.
IE, go to your package manager of choice, search avant window navigator, and checkity check the box, install, and run. Bing bang bong, you've got a dock.
Thanks for the kind help. But unfortunately I've had so many problems with Ubuntu that I've given up for now. It was taking way to much time to troubleshoot all the issues. In a little while I'll try again, because I really want to stop using win. Ubuntu really impressed me.
Avant Windows Navigator or kiba-dock either one should be your best bet. Although, I'm betting that after a year, you've already found it on your own.
Looked at Cairo-Dock, but it cuts off the bottom section of my screen. AWN lets me use the entire screen, but it's a big buggy as well. Between them, I just chose AWN because it's in the repository for the distro I'm using and it works well and is easily customizable.
As for the "Not Linux" comment I made, it was in response to someones comment, not sure what happened to it, but it's on here somewhere. I click "reply" on their message, but it didn't go through right.
a year ago, docky kinda sucked. Now Cairo-dock actually allows for full screen usage as well and includes a very nice auto-hide feature, something AWN at the time did not. Another good feature which Docky does not have, the ability to run without compiz running. When using Docky without compiz, it blanks the bottom half of your wallpaper. Cairo-Dock does not.
You can choose how much the icons will bounce. Most people set it to something very low, so they just wiggle a bit, but this guy set it high for comedic effect, apparently.
Everybody, can you not see that this is not a serious application. Somebody just did it for the lulz. It's a nice demonstration of the graphical engine's speed.
It's all about the choice, people. If you don't want to install/use it then don't. But you have the option to, and that's what helps make the Open Source way good.
If I accidentally crash an icon into the dock and send all my icons flying, I really hope there's an option that locks the positions down so I don't have to fix it every time.
Wouldnt it be nice though if after showing such an lovely little app like that, that they showed you how and where and what is required to install it for yourself ?
easy to install? that, sir, is horse shit.

Cairo-Dock is better than AWN, and Kiba-dock doesn't have the physics engine operating right now.
Not Linux?

Copy the best things from Windows, OSX and anything else out there and put it in to the UI, bouncing icons look annoying, not useful.
