  • easy to install? that, sir, is horse shit.

  • good

  • Where can I get this ? The git repo of this has been deleted.

  • @emshains Getdeb[dot]net maybe?

  • thats such a waist of time but so cool

  • lol, that's halarious.

  • what screen recorder did you use?

  • There is an option on the cairo-dock to raise it higher if it is cut-off at the bottom of screen. Right-click

  • what screen recorder did u use

  • it's XVidCap screen capture

  • this aint gnome dock its kiba dock

  • he states it is Akamaru under "about this video", you nice person. :-)

  • nah actually he said its Akamary physic engien which kiba and other docks use for making cool effects.

  • It's been stated over and over that there will NOT BE A GOOGLE PHONE! The project was actually ANDROID which is an OS for Smartphones.

  • I know that dummy! read! i said gphone "os" and it was in brackets just so people knew what Android actually was , geez... again I said gphoneOS not just a phone by google... chill out and read comments before you flame like that.

  • actually just a Smartphone made by HTC. with android opensource platform

  • i bet you feel stupid now haha

. google actually released the phone.. but fuck google and it's attempt to monopolize.

  • Yes it does, and FYI; Google uses Linux in their offices.

  • No, anything native M$ is just impractical and uncalled for.

  • @JoeyRamonerulz I would tend to agree. I do however, enjoy my xbox (after I softmodded it).

  • do you know what the fuck you're talking about ? geez.. google HAS a modified ubuntu distribution available to download.. but WHO THE FUCK CARES ?

  • I have Gutsy and Compiz. Anyone know how i can install the mac style dock. I've not found a good guide yet :(

  • Go Avant Window Navigator.

IE, go to your package manager of choice, search avant window navigator, and checkity check the box, install, and run. Bing bang bong, you've got a dock.

  • Thanks for the kind help. But unfortunately I've had so many problems with Ubuntu that I've given up for now. It was taking way to much time to troubleshoot all the issues. In a little while I'll try again, because I really want to stop using win. Ubuntu really impressed me.

  • Aye, same here...

  • Avant Windows Navigator or kiba-dock either one should be your best bet. Although, I'm betting that after a year, you've already found it on your own.

  • Cairo-Dock is better than AWN, and Kiba-dock doesn't have the physics engine operating right now.

    Not Linux?

  • Looked at Cairo-Dock, but it cuts off the bottom section of my screen. AWN lets me use the entire screen, but it's a big buggy as well. Between them, I just chose AWN because it's in the repository for the distro I'm using and it works well and is easily customizable.

As for the "Not Linux" comment I made, it was in response to someones comment, not sure what happened to it, but it's on here somewhere. I click "reply" on their message, but it didn't go through right.

  • @tmsbrdrs2 just use docky LOL

  • @nos676

a year ago, docky kinda sucked. Now Cairo-dock actually allows for full screen usage as well and includes a very nice auto-hide feature, something AWN at the time did not. Another good feature which Docky does not have, the ability to run without compiz running. When using Docky without compiz, it blanks the bottom half of your wallpaper. Cairo-Dock does not.

  • how to install :D

  • i have tryed to instale the same dock...but it fails all the time...can you help help me please?

  • Dang that looks entertaining lol, but I can't get it installed on Ubuntu 7.10 which is getting me annoyed some.

  • How do you get that? I've been trying to do it for hours but it keeps failing.

Have tried to install both Cairo and Awn.

    Help me out please?

  • What program did you use to capture the screen?

  • its recordmydesktop

  • thats not gnome dock.. thats kiba..

  • nope, akamaru...

  • akamaru is just the name of the physics engine, not the dock.

  • It can't be Gnome Dock... It must be Kiba Dock or something like that...

  • please say that the background has a tail and not running

  • what's fun ? lol

  • Fuck you asshole. Go screw bill gates and steve jobs up their ass.

  • One day you are going to have to face up to the fact that you are not very intelligent.

  • That's not linux, that's one of the docks available. Want to know what linux is you won't find it on youtube.

  • that's kiba-dock not gnome-dock...

  • yeah looks like it to me too

  • What's the screen capture utility that you're using?

  • i am guessing istambul , as it is standard in gnome.

  • cool

  • Cool. But u should have a Yung Joc wallpaper instead.

  • You can choose how much the icons will bounce. Most people set it to something very low, so they just wiggle a bit, but this guy set it high for comedic effect, apparently.

  • Everybody, can you not see that this is not a serious application. Somebody just did it for the lulz. It's a nice demonstration of the graphical engine's speed.

  • It's all about the choice, people. If you don't want to install/use it then don't. But you have the option to, and that's what helps make the Open Source way good.

  • Fun, but useless.

  • this is far less impressive than XGL desktop, not to mention that it's just 4 fun, nothing practical...still a good app tho

PS. @andruluvsu: to dog, d'ya get laid lately? or r ya just a windoze fanboy?

  • If I accidentally crash an icon into the dock and send all my icons flying, I really hope there's an option that locks the positions down so I don't have to fix it every time.

  • Nice animation and all but honestly, that's completely bloody worthless.

Copy the best things from Windows, OSX and anything else out there and put it in to the UI, bouncing icons look annoying, not useful.

  • ahaha that's funny, I should install that.

  • An example of masturbatory open source programming.

  • AMAZING!

  • This will surely increase my productivity tenfold, if not more.

  • What if i wanted to drag and drop something on to my desktop...and have it stay there.

  • Looks flashy but I dont see how it is practical.

  • Crack-tastic! This is even better than Wobbly Windows.

  • Wouldnt it be nice though if after showing such an lovely little app like that, that they showed you how and where and what is required to install it for yourself ?

  • google Akamaru

  • oh it's no problem, just type 374 lines of obscure syntax.. but don't make any mistakes, or the computer will eat your soul.

  • sweet and useless

  • This is what Linux needed!

  • Wonderful. I follow its development on compiz.net
