  • my grand mother even knows how it was done

  • see dees?

  • oh wow... those CD's.... crazy how they don't start at the beginning of the track... what a joke

  • I think this trick should make those CDs vanish in the end, that will be perfect!!

  • Michael Jackson one is funny like elton john and abba and the elvis one to

  • there's no reason to believe the CDs aren't slightly different from each other and that the audience member wasn't random.

  • It's not about the method, it's about the presentation!

  • That was great!

  • It was really good and enjoyable but the trick was a little bit weak

  • You comments are haters lol. His trick was unconvincing, but the performance was still very enjoyable

  • @Xetian91 Yeah man I understand your point but the show's name is "Fool Us" not Britains got Talent. Catch my drift?

  • He's a great entertainer :))

  • great presentation : )

even when he's busted, he's out with a joke "low battery..."

    great!

  • Obvious, yes, but quite entertaining nonetheless :)

He's humorous, especially to us muggles :D

  • @seanccronin no penn said ow look jay the shirt

  • 07:02 so tellers name is jay

  • @XMAGICZ07 What Penn said is "His shirt changed."

  • @XMAGICZ07 Raymond Joseph Teller is his full name.

  • @XMAGICZ07 he had his name changed legally to teller

  • Man that was obvs. Didn't even play queen either. Gets a thumbs down from me.

  • At least burn on the disks so that they dont look like blank cds when you how us the underneath .. :(

  • That was so obvious, I knew instantly they were modified players.

  • For a magic amateur like me; it was a great trick. I thought he did well and he was a good showman! :D

  • @ProfessorSassypants no... he didn't and no.... he wasn't

  • The first problem with this trick is that he's using 4 blank CDs and 4 discmans that in no shape or form have been "proven" to be what they're supposed to be. The second problem is that the trick is outdated - which he in a comedic way admits as he's setting up the trick... but that in itself is the error he made. Like Penn said, if they did the trick, they'd have a guy with an iPod playing the songs. We instantly know today that those discmans were rigged. The trick is 15++ years outdated.

  • I even noticed the second shirt before he even started the act. Geez.

  • "I'm going to write this one down. I'll tell you why. Because it's theatrically different from the first one."

  • 9:32 " thats the stupidest shit ive seen " is what he told the guy

  • I do not know how my grandpa produces coins out of my ear...but I figured this out before the 2nd CD was played. The theatrics were funny! but the illusion wouldn't fool anyone. The thing is, the CD players actually don't look real...they look like props. So even when they are played, you don't believe the sound is actually coming out of them....

  • Hey, at least they didn't put him RIGHT on the spot. Like if Simon Cowell were one of these judges, he would have ridiculed Alan.

  • The sad part is he actually thought he would fool them with this.

  • Utterly crap. Seriously, anyone could have guessed this; seriously poor for such a high calibre show.

  • Ha Penn was most impressed by the shirt change.

  • he said at the beginning i will need the help of the audience XD

that was like saying it out loud ELVIS IS LAST

  • my 5 year old could have guessed this one.

  • Enough with people shitting on this guy, his trick wasent that great but he was funny and entertaining and he left me smiling.

  • @WhoClashQueenStones He's not in a likeability contest, he's in a magic contest, and the magic part sucked.

  • @gnackattack As a magician myself, I will tell you, personality is 10x as important as the magic. A good magician can entertain a crowd with a shitty trick and he did. I'm not saying that he should have won, just that he doesn't deserve all this crap from YouTube trolls.

  • @WhoClashQueenStones yes but if everyone knows how the trick is done you can't really call it a magic trick, he's a great entertainer, sure, but a poor magician.

  • @gnackattack I don't want to get in a fight, I'll just tell you this, I know how 90% of Penn and Teller's tricks are done and they are still my favorite magicians.

  • @WhoClashQueenStones

I too am a Magician, so hello there.

But I disagree. Personality is NOT 10x as important. It is VERY important, very very important; nay VITAL to a show! But the trick is also VITAL!

Alan Hudson commits the cardinal sin of entertainment; he insulted his audience. He showed them a trick which did not fool my 12 year old little brother (we watched it together) and the whole audience felt insulted.

Poor quality tricks like this insult their intelligence.

  • @ThomasWadeFraser Hrm... I guess I'll just have to say that I disagree. I knew how it was done and I didn't fell insulted, I just felt entertained. Maybe I'm just not as cynical about magic as I am with films and literature because I very rarely am dissapointed by a magic routine. I'm just a sucker for this shit, I can't get mad about it. ;)

  • doesnt need off stage help just needs to install an mp3 player on the cdplayers.

  • i think cathy is his mum

  • son scheiss "trick"

  • Eh, that wasn't as bad as everyone commenting made it out to be. It still sucked, I just thought it'd suck more. :-P

  • worst trick i have ever seen

  • That was the first thing I assumed but I also assumed that they would let someone do a trick like this on the show that was so....bad. With some cash anyone could do this with no skill whatsoever.

  • The CDs are empty of course, nothing on them or player doesnt play - he has an accomplice playing them though somewhere off stage. Kind of cool. I could do this..

  • I think 1 person tried the competition...

  • It was easy to tell whats going on before the trick even got going.

  • Honestly, tricks this weak deserve to be exposed.

  • worst trick yet, whats even more embarrassing is how they revealed it. If only they could have written it down and asked him, dude walked out with egg on his face

  • This sucked.... i bet it fools kids though

  • This is the weakest trick I have seen on this show.

  • @MrCypkerth but as compared to the trick die and handphones trick?

  • @MrCypkerth Damn right! lol

  • @MrCypkerth I dunno the fast change act was prett 'good' too

  • I wish that Penn wouldn't interrogate and inspect the act to get them to 'submit' the solution.

  • who cares if you get it. I was impressed and I'm sure a number of other people were as well so shut up.

  • @Megan4839065 You are obviously missing the entire point of the show. the objective is to fool professional magicians, if you fail, than you can not go to vegas.

  • @Blacckkfire Well, it's not that you can't go to Vegas, you just can't go on their dime. :)

  • That was probably the easiest one to bust I've seen yet...

  • This trick would only impress a 70 year old recluse that doesn't know anything about technology.

  • hahah and he use dress code too !!

  • Haha that was so bad - he didn't give anyone any reason to believe that the CDs and the players were actually genuine. Clearly just gimmick CD-players that always play the same thing regardless of which CD is in them.

  • @gnackattack no, the cd players itself play nothing at all.

  • @gnackattack haha! that's funny. u do realize that that's a cd player and not an ipod, right?

  • @blearghp These were modified cd players. The only thing about them that was a cd player was the shell.

  • @blearghp I sincerely don't mean to be rude, but did you watch the same video as I did? Ignorance is bliss, yes(!), but when the truth stares you in the face.. Really?! Think about it ;)

  • @GothPosen its funny cause u're asking me what video it is, well its called penn and teller: fool us S01E03 Part 3 of 4. do u know? the truth never stares u in the face.

  • @gnackattack No gimmicks required. Most of those clamshell cd players have no sensor for when the door is opened. The reason Penn talked about swapping the discs is because all of them are identical with the same 5 tracks in the same order. Each player is set to a different track in a specific order so he knows which player will play which song. Press stop, remove disc, and you're ready to go.

Lame trick: if he hacked the players at least I would have been impressed at his electronics skill.

  • @gnackattack But that's not how CD players work. They play the CD that's inside them. Did you forget that he also changed his shirt after he put Elvis masks on the entire audience? This is a brilliant trick.

  • @Zalman1337 that's my point, he wasn't using ordinary CD players, he was clearly using 'trick' players that always played the same thing.
