actually this is the choreography from the Broadway production. its very simple. what makes it so dynamic is the intensity the dancers bring to it. sadly this production was lacking in that. but i agree, i adore the set (reposting because my comment was deleted! )
@ALilBee it's such a shame, FOSSE's choreography is slick, sexy and dynamic and unfortunately this did not show. I love Fosse's work so much, so when it's not executed how it should, it's a great shame.
The Chicago Musical is king of bourin, cause they dont feel it, i must to feel music with u doing a performance, i heard it was a high school, im not sure but it was, i think its ok for them.
This is for the girl how sang Velma. "you have a beutiful voice, just u need believe in your caracter, u did a great job, but u need believe in yourself as a singer, ok because Velma is a strong girl, that's why she had a stronge voice, i can feel u have a stronge voice but one more time u need believe it.
And, another thing, this show must have had a REALLY incompetent choreographer. Especially for the cell block tango. Like, are you kidding me? A 9 year old could have choreographed that. Good lord. Plus, how ridiculously anti-climactic.
My only suggestion was on The Cell Block Tango, slow down, pace your words. The main points in some of your monologues in the song, you were trying to hard to just get through it.
Now as for Matron Mama Morton. Less Drag Queen more attitude. Really pay attention to breath life into your characters. But I loved it!
The only awesome "Cell block tango" is unfortunately in the movie (Chicago). There those girls have emocion and they are sexy as well. They do catchy moves which you can't overlook. In 90% theatre performance "Cell block tango" lacks its meaning.
There is no....jazz in this. It seems so bland. Boring. No feeling a zazz to it. It was cheeky enough. It needs to be gaudy and robust and sensual and raunchy at times. This just looked like they were scared to offend so they kept things PG.

Ummmm, There is no energy, razzle, sexiness which is Velma Kelly and the choreography for Velma not good, there is none ;-(, the set is great though!
