You are brave indeed. Wow! I'm trying to think of the experiments that could be performed to shed new light into our endeavors. Perhaps get an accurate RPM VS. Voltage graph for the PMA, and also what RPM's you start getting significant blade noise indicating aerodynamic losses. Could certainly be worth doing. If you try, let us know the results.
No, actually my hub & blades are from MW&S, but my 48 volt PMA with the Slant Core plus is from an Ebay auction by the company that sells under qaz661. By the way, qaz661 blades are the same as MW&S just so you know.
@josh8loop O.k. here's the scoop. Qaz is the dude in Cali. who makes the PMa's/blades for MWaS and all the Hornet dealers. Not the most honest guy either. Jeff now makes his own blades(Raptor blades) which are wider at the base. They are much better quality without all chips and cracks. Qaz's mold is shot. Jeff is also making his own PMA's. Wait till you see em. They're sweet. Should put out more power also. So we actually have the same PMA.
Ah, and now I have the rest of the story! :) Good info. My rotor from my Qaz PMA I noticed that the 4 bolts in the center were severely over tightened which bent the outer plates that holds the magnets. I wasn't too happy about that. I did get a good deal for it though $170.00 for the PMA. I will look at the new MW&s PMA today if I can.
Very nice. Mine is just 2" flat bar I welded up and balanced with home made balanced 6" pipe. This here 12 blade is big time. What kind of wind speed you need to get 2000rpm?
83mph ='s 2,000rpm's (ish)
