When I was little I used to sit up in the Balcony of the church, my dad is a Pastor and if my mom had to work at the hospital on sundays that is where I sat, I remember watching the Organ player play every note, this video takes me back to those days of quietly sitting on the bench next to her while she played the postlude. This video shows such an Amazing skill, and has re-inspired me to use this as my postlude at my wedding next year. Thank you very much for sharing!
@joenwayne I'm working on my instrument, that was actually my first night flight when I was working toward my private license :) Thanks!! Its a Blast to fly! Thank you again for posting this video!
@istgone I have played both. Early E.M. Skinner consoles were rocker tablets. The stops and divisions are laid out the same. Might take a little extra time during practice. The pistons are universal. When in doubt, preset!
I like this a lot too. Not withstanding G.F.'s penchant for borrowing and recycling music (his own or others - allegedly), this is the victory march from Judas Maccabeus - comes just after "See, here, the conquering hero comes", is it not?
SO BEAUTIFUL ~ SO BEUTIFULLY PLAYED !!!! You are fantastic on the pipe organ ...playing with gusto and power..and all the time ~.in its proper fashion !!!
This is my second time to reply to you regardiing your fine talent. I so wish that you would do a recording on a CD where it could be be purchaced, as I find it extremely difficult to locate the Handel "March" from Judas Maacabeaus on the pipe organ. I hav
great talent and well done! your leggerezza is amazing...we have just restored a mascioni organ of the 1923 in my parish church and I would love to play this piece...thanks for your post, it gave me inspiration:)
I'm sitting here enjoying the morning coffee and listening to your performances... A good description of your playing would be "elegant"... Keep playing and keep posting!
Best wishes from a fellow organist in Dallas... - John
Handel is an all time favourite of mine and your playing of this piece is awsome. Thanks for sharing your talent and the magnificent organ in your church. Blessed Happy Easter to you and your family. Best Regards, Roy
This is my very favorite piece on the pipeorgan and you play it so beautifully...with gusto!! I love it. Do you have a cd of it and other things that you play on this order? Thank you, Jane Guitar
I don't finish to listen to....i 'm crying for the beauty of the Hande'l music....in this case performed by the organ. I know all Handel's oratorios and operas.Unfortunately in Italy Handel is rarely performed. We are a country without musical culture.INCREDIBLE!
Interesting that the instrument you play is not a big one, dimensionally speaking, but with pleasant full organ sonority. I took a glance at its disposition and found that there's a considerable quantity of solo stops, remarkably flutes.
Could you make a video showing, for example, the Cornopean? In my country, Brazil, we have no instrument with this stop, and very rare ones have the classical Krummhorn.
Yes, Austin console. To the right of the video click "More info" and the organ specification is there. 90% is original 1918 Steere. Thanks for viewing and your comments.
I'm playing from a collection of "Wedding Music" published by Concordia Publishing House, so I haven't searched the web for an on-line version. I would guess that you can find one on the internet.
If you go to the Wikipedia article on George Frideric Handel, near the bottom of the article are links to online repositories which have free copies of Handel's music. Look through those sites for the March from Judas Maccabeus.

Beautiful! In which temperament is the organ tuned? It sounds beautiful for Haendel!
skyriver83 5 months ago
@skyriver83 Thanks for viewing and your kind comments.
The organ is tuned in equal temperament. There is a tierce mixture on the Swell which can give a rather pungent addition to the sound.

I am assuming that this is a real pipe organ and not a digital organ? It sounds great!

@patsaxon
That is correct - not a single digit in it!
