Sorry, but I am not convinced. Scientists unisono say that climate change happens. I can see it on satelite photos. During my life span world population has doubled and oil consumption has more than tripled.

For the human race as a whole it does not matter if we run out of natural resources now or in fourty years.

I advocate birth control and sustainable alternatives for oil because I believe that people would have a better life and more freedom.

Please do not confuse eugenics with birth control. Eugenics try to create a "superhuman".

Birth control is the only way I know of to keep our numbers stable to ensure that our children can enjoy the beauty of our world as it is now.

In an overpopulated world there is no space left for any kind of freedom and democracy. Everything is limited to the absolute minimum. It's hell on earth.

How about the human right to be born into a family that can feed and educate you properly?

There was a badly-reported story on this in the press a little while ago, and unfortunately this myth was the result. All normal plants, in the process of photosynthesis, take up carbon dioxide by day and release oxygen. This switches over in the dark, and they then produce carbon dioxide through respiration in the same way as animals. While they are growing, they take up more carbon dioxide overall than they give out,

Burning gasoline or diesel fuel in a car creates water vapor, and a lot of it. So it could still be the SUV's. For example, burn a kerosene heater in the winter with a hydrometer handy and watch your humidity go up. People with machine shops that heat with portable heaters are always vented outside otherwise them moisture released by them rusts their machines. In the end, it's a moot point, because we are running out of oil anyway.

Ok, there's some junk science. Global warming or no, you can't convince me smog is good, or energy conservation is bad. Places like Calcutta or MexicoCity don't have nearly the consumption per person we do. Still because of so many people the smog is horrible. Perhaps that's not your argument but you're getting in with some very strange bedfellows.

I all you seek is an honest discussion, fine. If CO2/pollution has little or no effect climatically, then what effect does if have? Cough, cough.

Are you trying to say smog doesn't exist? Or that it's good, normal or acceptable? If you're interested in an honest dialogue I'll accept that CO2 has no effect climatically, or isn't even a pollutant. But changes are happening. There are so many very real pollutants. Man is the main alterator.

But the first step in alleviating this horror is to think clearly and realize that one of the most basic building blocks of human life - carbon is NOT a pollutant. your argument that planting trees would put more CO2 and and H20 in the atmosphere is non-sensical. Trees remove some CO2 and H2O from the and return a fraction of that CO2 and H20 back into the atmosphere. atmosphere on a daily basis.

1) Trees are the largest producers of water vapor behind the oceans.

2) Old Growth Trees increase CO2, young growth trees absorb CO2.

3) Your claims are so factually inaccurate, would you mind providing a link?

4) Trees in the winter lose their leaves, and continue to live and breath, releasing CO2. They absorb CO2 in the spring and summer.

5) Decomposing leaves and wood release huge amounts of CO2 and CH4.

6) The oceans regulate CO2 in the atmosphere.

no trees do not produce H2O vapour. They transpire water vapour, which u correctly stated in your video. However I do agree boreal forests that are 80 +years old emit CO2 and transpires more H2O than it takes in.

Oceans absorb CO2 passively.

I think you have already made up your mind to reject scienific inquiry and the pursuit to get more data on this controversial subject, which as you said is speculative. Many scientific discoveries in the past were speculative, but if someone that was curious did not pursue them we would still be ignorant about those topics.

The controversy is about the strings behind the "consensus". The presentation is a review of the existing science and the IPCC report. All I do is allow people to have a presentation the highlights the key points. Problem is the key points don't point to CO2. Al Gore's own chart doesn't point to CO2.

The water vapour isn't changing the temperatures. The water vapour is the most important greenhouse gas. The change in temperatures is a result of changes in the sun. After all almost all the energy on the earth comes from the sun. (An exception being volcanoes.)

I never claimed the temperatures aren't changing, THEY ARE ALWAYS changing. I am sure you have heard of the little ice age, the ice age and the medieval warming period. This issues isn't does the climate change, it is what causes it. CO2 isn't the cause. AL Gore misdiagnoses the cause of the fever.

nutcase was out of line... please forgive me. i did listen to the vid... my neighbors son is working towards an advanced degree in enviormental science at MIT. he claims the science is real and climate change is occuring. i work in an industry(industrial refrigeration) that is heavilly regulated due to compounds i use that destroy the ozone and contribute to the greenhouse gas effect.

Refrigerants cause Global Warming? My understanding is that the refrigerants cause the ozone hole over the S Hemisphere which some data shows has been cooling. Anyway, the ozone hole has been hitting record levels during a time when CFC levels have been falling. Please explain that.

KAWPHEEisYUMMEE, I review plenty of scientific research in my job, just because I didn't do the research doesn't mean that I can't interpret it. Lonnie Thompson drills ice cores, he isn't a meteorologist, and yet Al Gore views him as a credible source. Do you disagree with a single one on my claims or interpretations? If not, then what difference does my background make? If there is any field that can read a chart and interpret statistical modeling, it is economics.

The whole point of my presentation is that NONE of the work that I review is my original work. Much of it is used by Lonnie Thompson in his presentaions here at OSU, and by Al Gore in his movie. I love how every one attacks my data because it is THEIR data. If I am using junk data then they are using junk data. Is it ok for them to use junk data, but not me?
