i used to have this phone and the battery life was terrible. I ended up getting rid of the phone because the battery would die after about 12 hours, and thats without ANY talking or texting
No, this phone can't work on Fido - it's a CDMA phone, and Fido/Rogers is a GSM carrier, meaning only GSM phones can work on their network. The price of the phone varies - you'll have to check with Telus. I was sent this phone as a review unit, so I didn't pay for it.
i agree with you jason. the htc s621/dash is the best windows mobile gsm phone out there. i'm from montreal, quebec and im with rogers so im gonna get a t-mobile dash unlocked on ebay. i was thinking of getting the s640 with telus, but the thing is i always wanna be able to run the latest software version, which is 6.1 now but canadians carriers are just too lazy on upgrading their existing phones. i just subscribed to your channel you make the best reviews by the way, keep up the good work
I'm in a full service area when it happens, but I'll try logging in several times in a row like you did. When I talked to Telus, he said he was having the same problem and wasn't sure what it was. He basically blamed it on the site being down--which it isn't.
Hey I've got one of these and there are two thins Telus' data networking team cant seem to help me. The mp3 trimmer doesnt seem to work, and I cant access facebook. The page appears to load when you log in, and then suddenly stops loading. Telus basically said "oh, facebook mobile must be down right now..." It's been two weeks. what's the deal?
Well, I don't know about the MP3 trimmer - I've never used it. Regarding Facebook mobile, I've seen a problem where I'd put in my username and password, log in, and it would take me back to the login page. It took me like six times to log in - but eventually I got in. I haven't seen the problem lately, so it was probably just a temporary issue. In your case, it sounds a bit different - does this happen from all locations? i.e.: it's not a signal strength issue, is it?
There are hundreds of phones on the market, so asking for the "best" one is pretty much an impossible question. Figure out what you want in a phone, do the research, and pick the phone that best meets your needs.
Yes, generally when a phone can have software installed on it, runs a rich operating system, and can do a lot of things, it's considered a "smartphone". The battery life on this is excellent for a smartphone - it runs for 3-4 days between charges.
My only turnoff to the HTC phones is that they do not work for Major US Networks like AT&T,T-Mobile,Verizon Wireless. I would have got this phone if it supported these networks. I don't feel like dealing with bugs once i unlock, especially with Wifi.
AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon all have HTC phones. This particular phone is only available on the Telus network, but it's in the minority - all of the US networks have HTC phones.
can this phone work on pay as you go for telus

It's similar, but it's a lot thinner - Treos are unfortunately quite bulky and heavy.
