I've watched this endlessly for at least an hour and a half. And it never ceases to produce tears or, at the very least, chills. A reminder of why I started doing this thing in the first place.
Allan, Thank you so much for this gem. It's so inspiring to have Harold alive again, if only on old video. i wish you had more of him. he not only inspired my quest for art, he inspired my quest for life! A mighty oak indeed.
Thank you for posting this. How inspiring to hear this legendary artist speak so passionately about breaking down the walls and barriers that we all struggle with in every aspect of our lives, from the secrets we deny to ourselves to the lies we often keep in our own personal relationships to the half-truths our governments preach. He speaks of greatness while displaying it at the same time. A passionate plea for honesty, vulnerability, and communication in our everyday lives. Beautiful.
what the hell are you talking about? I spelled "charlatan" right. But those who resort to low personal attacks, are low people themselves. Clurman makes no sense, has no evidence to back up what he says - he's just a histrionic schmuck who produced legendary plays. He's nothing more.
Harold was my friend! He was always at least this alive, and often nearly flew off the floor with intense caring. Seeing & hearing him now injects me with remembering why I'm so wild about living, too! Harold, I love you! thank you for being my teacher.
hello Kattoptric, it seems you kenw Mr Clurman personnaly, has he talked to you once of movie star Frances Farmer ? They worked together and they had an affair too.
Sets Breivik in somehow of a perspective , does`nt it... On The other hand it´s only fair to say that hes is an oportunist in his way...

Thanks for posting this clip of a man who himself was a part of a glorious chapter in American Theatre. Perhaps it's pinnacle.

I love it!! Passion for passions sake! When I'm that old I want to be just as virile and impassioned as that great man was!
Thanks for the clip!
