I have one of these.... i hate it. The hose is a pain its long and cumbersome. I never use it..... I just use my Miele now.... I really regret spending all the money on the centrai vac.
@Tat2NY When i read your comment i thought it was mine. I find the hose a pain as well and stopped using it in favour of my Miele. Unfortunately the Miele stopped working (quite common apparently) and will need to be repaired probably at a cost of over $100. It seems i can't win.
I tried to find the website again but I can't find it, but I heard that they need to be vented outside and when it snows, it freezes the vent cover closed and the vacuum heats up really hot and could catch on fire.
@zmanifest Yes, it's a known fact they are the most expensive vacuum. The point I was trying to make is that you get a long list of benefits for a reasonable price. I realize that many can't afford it and that you can buy a regular hand-held vacuum for far less.
we had one in the past couple houses we lived in, to me I didn't like lugging around a 30ft hose but again this is personal preference, I'm not saying at all that a central vac is bad I will say they are great got alot of power but it just wasn't as convienient for me to own one as it was a traditional upright which I have a Riccar very good brand of vacuums if you don't prefer central vac
Hey, Great video. I want to buy one. But, I have a question. I do not have carpet in my house. However, my house have 4floors (basement included)and about 40x30 feet each floor. Do I need a powerfull central vacuum or a 400$ would do the thing? Thanks
my parents have a central vac system and the house is about 10 yrs old now. Those things hav some power. I wasnt ever to paricular about what i would let get sucked up through and am pretty sure theres never been a problem/clog.
Wow a lot of miss informed people. Central vacuums get the dirt out of the home and are exhauted out side!Central vacuums are lasting about 20 years or more I sell and install Central vacuums if INSTALLED correctly most will not clog. the 1 1/4" hose feeds into a 2" line butt at the wall inlet there is a short 90* that should stop items like a pin or a kids toy. so when you remove the hose the item is right there. the system in the video is out dated.
i'm not planning to post videos.i just think you misinformed people by saying clogs are impossible.just because you have a video channel, doesn't make you an expert.
Thanks again! Without a video presence, no one knows if you are a professional or an impostor. Years ago someone coined a great phrase that speaks directly to comments made by others about YouTube videos. I am sure you remember it: Actions speak louder than words. Anyone can write a derogatory comment. But it takes a different person to rise to the next level. Sorry to hear you will not be one of those people so we learn from you.
ok when i go to work monday,i'll take my camcorder.then i'll post one of my service calls, showing me removing a clog.not sure what that will prove but oh well.
Thanks for your comment. I can't wait for you to start to share your knowledge about the topic. When you load some central vac videos to your channel, I might subscribe to tap into your knowledge base. Please let all of us know when you load those videos.
The Bosch unit is not too bad. I wear ear plugs no matter what the sound level is. Please read my past column at my website about how noise like that causes cumulative hearing damage.
There are central vacuum systems meant to handle sawdust and wood chips. Use these in woodworking shops. A residential central vacuum should not be used in this manner. A wet/dry vac is a portable vac. Use it that way, not as a fixed machine.

I've heard cyclonic central vacuums like the one in this video, are fire hazards
dirtdevil2258 3 years ago
Really???? Can you share any independent sources on the Web where this is discussed? I've not heard a word about this at all.

@AsktheBuilder "Central vacs are great, Their affordable they cost between $800 and $1200 to install." Tim that's more expensive than a Dyson vacuum.

Let price be your barometer. The more expensive machines usually work better. Price many models and do online research for performance reviews.

is the ridgid shop vac loud is a big shop vac
holman26 4 years ago
My Ridgid model came with an accessory muffler. They are all loud...... Perhaps there is a quiet portable vac, but my guess it is not powerful.
