  • Except that you CANNOT OD on oral vitamin D, and if it is possible, I've never seen it, and I've seen people take up to 100000 IU's daily for several days at a time.

  • cholecalciferol (d3) is the active ingredient in some rat poisons.

  • It's also safe, even in "higher" dosage. It takes up to 100.000 IU before it starts to display provable effects of overdose on a creature as small as a lab rat, scientists discovered. That means one can go up to as much as 50.000 IU as a human and still be safe, and that is a BIG dosage. Bottom line; although one might overdose in extra HUGE amounts; it's not even close to a threat even in bigger amounts.

  • Before using high quantities of Vitamin D, better check your blood levels for Vitamin D3 first. High quantities can be toxic, especially if taken via supplements.

1000 IU per day is considered to be a safe daily dose, with a maximum of 2000 IU per day. Use higher doses only when it was recommended by your doctor.

  • The sun can produce up to 20,000 in one day. 2000 is rather minimal. I'm sick, i've taken 1 5000 iu earlier and another an hour ago. I'm still alive.

  • I take 30,000 everyday!! 15,000 in the morning and 15000 @ night! There is new research that says using high doses of D3 is a supreme viral blocker and it boosts your immune system by 3-5 times normal levels!!!!

  • please name one person that has had side effects from "toxic" levels of vitamn D that you know of.

  • please name these people that are dropping dead from high doses of vitamins. Come one provide us the list!. I however can give you thousands long lists of people dropping dead from taking medical drugs.

  • I plan on taking 50 000iU pills each day so be it to fight psoriasis, I don't think you can overdose but you can die from lack of vitamin D

  • i love taking Vitager, it's really effective and no side effects. i love that my wrinkles are diminished.

  • I read (and you can check this through Google) that D3 is used as "rat poison", and that we're only supposed to get it through sun exposure...?

  • Well, warfarin used to be used as rat poison. Now it is our major blood thinner for prevention of stroke/heart attack (brand name Coumidin). You can make enough vitamin D for your own use by approximately 5 minutes of sun exposure to just your face and hands for a weeks supply of what you naturally need. You don't need to 'tan'. Skin cancer by sun exposure is by a cyclobutane like reaction between two adjacent thymidine's in your DNA, causing a 'kink' and thus a misread during DNA replication.

  • Any substance can be poisonous, if used in too high quantities. Normal levels of Vitamin D are vital for the body, toxic levels can be used as poison.

  • So...because it's on google means its true? Well, if it's rat poison i should be dead as i took 10000 ius today. Check your statement.

  • no rat poison is sodium flouride, which is fda approved for adding to 66 percent of the water supply

    :)

now they want to regulate all natural medicine and vitamins by codex alimentarius

I'm sure all 'accredited' institutions will agree with it too. bunch of lackeys and sycophants they are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You are the definition of a shill and a sheep. Just go get your Tamiflu and swine flu stab and be happy.

  • good to know! Thanks
