  • wow this version of Wing Chun looks awesome

  • Wan Kam Leung makes it looks interesting.

  • Superb control!

  • He should not lean forward.

  • dream match: Wan Kam Leung V.S. Gary Lam

  • My masters kung-fu aint shit to compared to this..

  • Amazing! I assume hes not taking on anymore students, but those whom already are, are quite fortunate.

  • I am proud to be a student of PWC!

  • when i grow up,i wanna be juz like him!

  • 他是教過G4特工(特首或前港督保鏢)特訓的!!

  • i wanna learn from this guy.... where do i go... someone plz direct me to him

  • @pogiepnoi Go to the website, Wan Kam Leung International. All the information is on there. Good luck on your martial arts journey.

  • You can find his information on the following website.

    w w w . w i n g c h u n . c o m . h k

  • Actully I have not watched this video all the way before because of the bad soundtrack that makes me wanna puke, but without sound I could see that it was a great video, please remove the soundtrack its the worst music I've ever herd of. // Shifua

  • This guy is a beast! Wish I could get a chance to train with him...

He always seems to wear suspenders lol....

  • One of the things I like about his wing chun is the way he uses what the FMA stylists would call sectoring. namely forcing his opponents into limited angles of attack. If you close off half the angles a guy can punch you that means they can only attack you in a specific limited way.

  • honest truth wing chun is good to learn for empty hands very fast,i study this alot also krav maga weapon dis arming,i stick with the wing chun empty combat system very brutal and acurrate

  • I see he look like more Chowgar praying mantis than the real wingchun as you can see he always put his elbows on front when he fight that 's tipycal CHOWGAR praying mantis

  • @matinfrais there are some similarities in southern styles, like the center line, fixed elbows and stuff

this is wing chun, no doubt

  • Another example of a Sifu beating up on his students.

  • @TheDano1947 Wan Sifu does not beat up on, or hit his students. Every punch was pulled, no-one got hit or hurt. They are however practicing a method of fighting, not dancing. What he is demonstrating is the correct use of balance, footwork and control of the centreline.

  • @TheDano1947 not really, I have peronsally trained with Sifu Wan on several occasions and found him to be a very polite and gentle teacher. He was also very encouaging and VERY controlled so that you were never injured when training with him. Sifu Wan is also very good at explaining to you why the things that he does work and talk about how you can stop them as well.

Sifo is happy to demonstrate techniques using more power in them, but you will have to ask (sometimes beg) if you want him to.

  • @TheDano1947 you obviously never hit 'pause' button on youtube or don't have vlc to slow the videos down. the punch/palm strike is fast but it doesn't connect. the student move back or startled might be just because of pure reflects.

  • I do 5 years wing chun and his Sin Nim Tao is nothing but a joke

  • @CHOJPIERDOLONY hahaha...and after 5 years of training you would definitely know looool

  • @CHOJPIERDOLONY Wan Sifu has done 50 years of training, so I think maybe he knows something you don't.

  • Siu Lim Tao is a training method. You can do it however you want as long as it trains the techniques most important for your lineage.

  • @CHOJPIERDOLONY He probably modified yours to get something better. After all, he made traditional wing chun into practical wing chun.

  • @CHOJPIERDOLONY Your comment is nothing but a joke. You trained for "so long" yet you still have not learned the most important lesson of siu nim tao. Shame on you.

  • together with Tsui Seung Tin and Gary Lam, Wan Kam Leung is my favorite Wing Chun Master

  • YIP MAN WOULD BE SO PROUD WITH WAN, THE REST NO.

  • Nice video...If you want see my wooden dummy too..

    /watch?v=UkhyhZzxIlk

  • What I really like in this is that traditionally you do not see a ton of high kicks above the waist level in wing chun but the way he uses his high kick it makes for a really good surprise against another wing chun stylist. I notice alot of people cannot integrate a high kick into wing chun properly without compromising their structure or footwork but this sifu seems to do it perfectly. This is indeed a very practical approach and would be great for modern usage.

  • @MartialArtistGuy1981

It really depends, Once the Wing Chun practitioners left Fo Shan, the technique has branched out and evolved.

Traditional Wing Chun bases on short punches and low kicks.

Nowadays you pretty much will never see a genuine Wing Chun master.

  • Nice video

    What is this cool song?

  • can he apply it in a real fight or is it just art and forms?

  • If I visit Hong Kong, does Sifu Wan have programs for overseas students?

  • @hongkongboy23 Absolutely. Wan Sifu has many overseas students who visit whenever they can. He also conducts seminars every year in Europe and Australia. You can contact him through the website, Wan Kam Leung Practical Wing Chun International.

  • @hongkongboy23

How long did you stay in Hong Kong?

  • Does Sifu Wan has wing chun programs for overseas students?

  • wan kam lueng would probably do great

  • showing these whiteboys how to do it!

  • i would love to see him doing chi sao with my sigung samuel kwok i think no one would win

    do you agree?

  • i would love to see him doing chi sao with my sigung samuel kwok i think no one would win

    do you agree?

  • Awesome, excellent WSLVT from Si-bat. It works :-)

  • Excellent! WSLVT

  • @JWCKWAN Sigung Wong Shun Leung lineage yes but Practical Wing Chun is Wan Si-Fu's own creation, an evolution of the system that has many subtle differences both in technique and application.

  • I am a student of Sifu Wan! I just signed up last week :)

  • I met Wan Kam Leung in HK and he has a heaviness to his stance and his strikes you can't see on video. Also a very humble and welcoming person..

  • what linage is this? it doesn't look like yip man's wingchun, if you look at his video he made before he died

  • Why don't you drop in and ask him yourself. You know where his Kwoon is, 100m from yours.

  • @hkwingtsunboy

Did you know Ip Man didn't create WingChun?

It was created by a woman called Yim Wingchun.

  • No. It was created FOR Yim wingchun.

Massive difference. Mythology would suggest that A Buddhist nun, Ng Mui created it, but in reality she was probably just one of a few people at the monastery who was involved in creating it.

  • Wan Kam Leung Lignage is one of the best:

he was student of Wong Shun Leung, who was Ip man best student (and unbeaten in Hong Kong Free Fights)

Wan Kam Leung is doing practical Wing chun,

he was until 1997 the trainer of the special forces of the Royal Hong Kong Police.

  • 這師傅練的好扎實..猛!

  • There is no right or wrong, only what works for you and what doesn't.

  • it is not wrong, it is just that he change some stuff.

  • I have made my own wooden dummy and can train 4/8 hours a day most times if necessary but still do Chow Gar also.

I have learn' t nearly all my first form now and am wondering when i can start to learn the different elements of the chi sau ?

  • I have taught myself most of the first form now, but how soon can i start to approach the chi sau elements and chi sau combination's ?

  • Difficult to say, you really need a partner.

  • this guy is amazing trained with him a month ago if u get the chance jump at it he is awesome

  • trained with him a month ago he is the real deal so accommodating if u go to hk look him up u will not be dissapointed

  • this guy likes the chum kui upper cut.

  • Wow so many comments?! Wing Chun has too much politics. Be like water my friends.

  • great video,,,what lineage is this from??

  • He was Wong Sheung Leung's student so I'm pretty sure it goes back to Yip Man.

I appreciate that this sifu isn't afraid to experement. He is also fluid and relaxed. Nice!

  • WKL is to be experienced to be believed. Travel to HK and find out how good he is coz, unless you've felt it, YT clips can only show you so much...

  • WKL is to be experienced to be believed. Travel to HK and find out how good he is coz you absolutely cannot tell from just viewing a YT clip...

  • students just chain punch with overshifting , really easy for the sifu to look great.......

  • i think they mainly overshift because wan manipulates there balance punch straight and have somebody pull youre arm and see what i mean but even then its a demo and if somebody was to punch at me like that i dont think i or you can look that good youve gotta admit at least that

  • There is no chain punching in Practical Wing Chun and the two very senior students do not over-shift, they get shifted. If you're ever in HK visit Sifu Wan and find out for yourself!

  • there is a student of Chi Sim Weng Chun learning Wing Chun from Yip Man Lineage.

  • his wing chun is very good......but still the way he performs the siu lim tau is bad and it seems as if he has forgotten one of the ideas of the first form.....

  • it is ammended by Mr. Wan, but not bad

  • In 1:02 the guy on the left should use Bon Sau and turn body but he just doesn't do it.

  • Very impressive. Looks like a true master.

  • これはすごいですわな

  • Why'd you include the "wa"? May as well have gone with "da" instead of "desu" to make it sound better

  • This is good stuff. he's got such a great .. awareness? It is like he is flowing into the opponent's weakness so quickly.

  • best wing chun master i ever seen !

his wing chun is not really visible,

it flows like water, but has his own rules...highest art !

    great respect !!!

  • @2Liquid4U look to Philipp Bayer:)

  • Killertoad: actually Wan sifu was with Sigung, almost since he opened his school and was with him till his death. what he does now is his own interpretation of the system inspired by sigung

  • WKL was only with Sigung WSL for weeks. MOst of what he does is what Leung Sheung passed on to him.

  • killertoad, who told you that rubbish. You have it the wrong way around. Sifu Wan's first teacher was Leung Sheung but he was only with him for a few months before he joined Sigung Wong Shun Leung as one of his very first students. He then spent the next twenty years training with him and was so devoted to his Sifu that he promised him he would not open his own school until Sigung Wong passed away. Sifu Wan honoured his promise and only opened his own school after Sigung Wong's death in 1997.

  • The depiction of the sequence of the two masters Leung and Wong by gragrn is correct.

  • Sifu Wong Shun is obviously where he learned his wing chun because it is good. Sheung has terrible wing chun.

  • can someone tell me sifu wan kam leung lineage please.

looks very similar to wsl... can some1 confirm this please... many thanks

  • The guy is phenomenal. I went to a seminar with him and unfortunately was sat down through all of it (it was more of a lecture). But I've trained all kinds of martial arts such as karate, muay thai and BJJ, but my main art is wing chun. Wan Kam Leung blew me away how knowledgable he was, but what impressed me even more was how HUMBLE he was. He clearly stated that his wing chun was not necessarily the 'right way' of doing it, and that all wing chun was correct in one way or another

  • where does Sifu Wan Kam teach? where is his school?

  • Hong Kong.

  • he seems to be really good. but in the opening scene his Sil Lim Tao looks quite different to the way I have been taught. I train at Sifu Jim Fungs Academy in Sydney. any comments?

  • Sifu Jim Fung trained under Grandmaster Tsui Sheung Tin, Sifu Wan trained under Grandmaster Leung Sheung and then Grandmaster Wong Shun Leung. All these three grandmasters studied under Grandmaster Yip Man at almost the same time. I have watched the three grandmasters Leung, Tsui and Wong, their Wing Chun are quite similar. Obviously Sifu Wan has made substantial modifications. Goldenwing.

I had lunch with Sifu Wan a few years ago and he impressed me as very knowledgeable, and practical.

  • I have learnt both from jim fung wing chun and sifu Wan. I beleived sifu Wan is more practical then others in all

  • bellissimo video...grande maestro...

  • Je suis totalement abassoudi. Ce maitre est un grand maître de wing chun.

  • very nice vid, that guys got skills. cool music 2.

  • Nice to see good Wing Chun...Well done.

  • erm... why when he does the first few blocks does he put his "free arm" under the blocking arm? couldnt he just use it to come over his own blocking arm and punch?

  • Of course he could but that would be very basic technique. Sifu Wan is demonstrating a trapping drill utilizing Tan, Fook and Wu. This is only part of the advanced trapping within Siu Lim Tao.

  • Had the pleasure of seeing sifu leung at a seminar.I found alot of what he said to be against what i have been taught and i didnt really like it.but when he was actually doing the movements he was VERY skilled.

  • whats the difference about "wing chun" and "wing tsun"(wing tzun) ??

i mean, im about to start, but my school only have wing "tzun" and hey, theres any difference at all or is just the way its called here in europe?

  • Good question Taikamya! Ts is pronounced Ch in Cantonese and V is pronounced W. There are some differences between WC and WT but they are minor and mainly related to each persons interpretation. WC/WT/VT is a style based on principles and theories as much as technique so every person will express their WC/WT/VT differently according to their size, shape, fitness, flexibility, experience and understanding. So what's the difference, the English spelling! Good luck with your training.

  • All his power must come from those suspenders. Nice laid back attitude in this vid.

  • Watching this man made me want to study wing chun!!! Having done Karate and Bagua.

  • Good wing chun, nice forward and attacking intentions. That is what wing chun is about!

  • I agree. you can really see him manifest forward elbow energy. Nice to watch.

  • Gary Lam could take him easy.. ;-)

  • love this guy's videos....really nice to watch him in action.

  • not bad..

  • high kick is too fancy, i think he was just showing them what is possible if you are super high level. meat & potatos of wing chun is hands take care of hands, legs take care of legs, no kicks above the waist.

  • You can kick above the waist in wing chun if you want. The kick he was demonstrating was a very easy high kick compared to most of the stuff in taekwondo etc. I know some very inflexible people who can do it quite easily.

  • What a showman!

  • I am former JKD guy and now I practice mostly only BJJ with a little Muy Thai thrown in. This is the first clip that made me see the reason Bruce thought so highly of Wing Chun. Somethign else I like is that this guy doesn't beat his students senseless when demonstrating a technique.

  • WC is one of the best MA. what you saw before this guy was probably shit like Wing Tsun.

the guy here is a student of WSL, a good friend of Bruce who taught him the art of WC.

another student of WSL is ng chun hong. On internet, i think he has the best clips

  • the sifu must really like suspenders

  • whats the song for this video?

  • Respect!!

  • i really respect this sifu here because his kung fu is realistic and simple, so many other sifu's try to compensate by using trickery like doing repetitious combo's that give a false sense of true combat.

  • perfect example of the potential of wing chun for smaller people. This sifu is awesome. my sifu is pretty awesome too but much bigger, but he also told me to concentrate on the fluid approach to WC. He also gave me the gan sau on the top of the forearm like in here, i had a deep muscle bruise for about 3 days haaha

  • I am a Wingchun student. From what you said i can tell you understand true combat. What style do you practice? or you just enjoy watching?

  • this a very good example of good kung fu, mostly realistic. he's not doing a hundred punch combos to end or exaggerate effectiveness, like some other sifu's.

  • respect!

  • Very cool stuff; the first wing chun film to impress me too.

  • i cant beleive people say (even instructors) that wing chun dosnt look good on film. This was euphoriates for my eyes. Sifu Wan Kam Leung is my favorite. i am in awe.

  • comon use the butterfly knives on the wall then fight the master!!

  • Another great clip, I am definately going to ask for a lesson when I go to Hong Kong. Im so impressed, actually his are the first clips Ive been really impressed with. Its funny how he, Gary Lam and Nino Bernardo are all different even though they learned from the same teacher.

  • Wong Shun Leung students are so good!!? WSL must of being so amazing. Wan Kam Leung and Gary Lam are so good to watch.

  • I like how Sifu Wan Kam Leung uses his forearms to control his opponent. I've never seen anyone control someone in that way before.

  • the white boy had a poor horse, and over used his upper body, due to eagerness and lack of depth. anyone who's crossed arms with wan can tell you his power is incredible, which is all horse. Wan will show you power, that doesnt necessarily mean he will teach you how to cultivate it yourself.

  • whoooow... I would like to train with this master,

very impressive.Actualy,is the first wing chung video

that impress me,with all respect to all practitioners.

  • I like Gary Lam, and I like Wan Kam Leung now. Awesome stuff!!!

  • I know both of them. To be frank, Lam has nothing to compare to Wan. Lam is quite like gimmicks whilst Wan is more practical. Sorry to say something about you two.

  • excellent,j adore

  • very nice set up! does anyon know the song as well!? thanks!

  • awesome.

  • Nice to see the Canberra boys getting beat up... :-D

  • Respect to the Wan Kam man! Great hands. And watch out for that kick in the teeth! ;o)

  • it's all about structure

  • cest trop bioen , trop fou jadore aussi

  • thats awsome!!! good to see your time in hong knog was well spent!!!

  • Superbe... J adore!

  • Wan Kam Leung rocks!
