@konpaaku I have the Japanese version of PSP2:I. It's 4 people only (PSU AOTI PC/PS2/X360 is 6). It won't come to the states because Sega claims that the sales of their first PSP1 were bad (even though it did well in Japan). Your best bet is to import.

@feh2 mission points are the way you lvl up your class and are pretty much exp for your class lvl, in the beta they were scarce so some people would kick if people would die unless they had a particular item which ressurected them without effecting the ranking of the mission and keep in mind in the final release of the game deaths in a mission do not count negatively against the party unless the person who died returns to the lobby, this being a dungeon crawler and all

Because sad people like you think its bad gameplay. The gameplay is unique to any other game, PSO may be the exception, and it has a great community once you start to pay for it. PSO will be around for as long as the 360 is around, and probably move with it to the next console.

All you do really is repeat runs over and over again. This game has very little to offer content wise. As staying on topic as your comment goes, the game play isn't bad and it isn't great. Sure it has a great community, but the population is dropping fast. This game won't exist much longer. I give it 1 yr

@bbadmike Yes, significantly different. PC/PS2 version doesn't have online anymore (servers shut down due to poor support from Sega of America). You'd hae to go X360 if you want to play online with English speaking players.

Japanese servers are still up for all three platforms though.

ONE QUESTION!!!!!!: what is the technic you use to heal all party members in range? I've played two Phantasy Star games and I've never found it in either of them. So please if you can, let me know. It's so frustrating online when everyone dies cuz nubs don't know how to heal. =p

You need to level it up to have it heal others in range. I forgot what level for Phantasy Star Online.

@Bcker08 Yes, yes, yes (you can switch class whenever you want). You get to choose spells/powers/equipment, but only based on your class.

There's a version for PSP called Phantasy Star Portable 2 - in that one you can COMPLETELY customize what weapons you can use (of course, if you pick a Melee class, you're still gonna suck at techs/spells), no restrictions whatsoever unlike PSU.

I was a Force type, but Forces can use low end (C rank, 1-3 star) spears and daggers.

If you still want to play it, get the X360 version, which is continuing to stay open.

This was during the first week or so when the game came out. Very little content available and everyone had crap PAs/techs. I was a Force, but I had this stupid urge to melee (monsters back then had such low HP it didn't matter). Always loved being hybrid melee/spell classes like Paladins and Clerics. Little did I know that there would be a new class coming out called Wartecher!
