  • can i upload my blender stuff on to unity? If you don't have unity and you don't know then I will ask this question instead, are the files saved as a .3ds file?

  • @beepboopbopers

The city can be exported to all the output formats Blender supports: 3ds, obj, x3d, fbx, dae....

You can even drop the blend file in Unity for automatic export/import.

  • Look at the blenderartist forum, the link is in the description of the youtube video "Blender City Engine v0.2 released"

  • Beautiful. I've seen a lot of random generators for cityscapes in Blender, and this is the only one where the buildings look detailed. Great job.

  • Dude! thats sooo fucken bomb! when is the script coming out?! i need it badly.

  • We are thinking about it.

  • Wow this is looking good! Can't wait to give it a try. Not to add to your feature count, but can we use a group of custom buildings as source meshes for the script?

  • Yes. The goal of this project is to create realistic-looking cities automatically.

We are currently working on a way to incorporate a network of streets in the output cities and of creating non-square buildings. Some of our inspiration is from the research papers "Procedural modeling of cities" by Parish and Müller and "Procedural modeling of buildings" by Müller and al.

  • nice!

    bet that took some scripting.
