This is complicated, and wrong. Put a capo on the third fret, and it's Em, G, D, A7 (all while holding down the first string at G. There are loads of videos on YouTube showing Noel playing it the right way.

hey.I like the lesson. What would really help is if you actually called the fingers 1,2,3&4 and perhaps call it the G string and not just " the third one over" It's important for students to know and refer to the strings and fingers in the proper context. good job teaching though.
