  • Dieser Song läßt mich beben; leben!

  • @berlinsubs

Das unterscheidet die Idioten von den halbwegs Interessierten...

  • canadians and americans are second rate international citizens..you decended from my ancestors LOL!

  • @johnnoization and in that short amount of time we have become the richest and most powerful country in the fkn world, we passed u and ur sorry country up long ago....u r my bitch pal

  • Anyone who fails to find this song moving in some way, really isn't listening to it properly.Utterly brilliant band!

  • The ending, with the full orchestra of strings is soul-stirring.

  • Check this great band out called Cattle and Cane on myspace

  • this is the best song of neon bible and one of the best songs i´ve ever heard.

  • People who claim Neon Bible is poor produced and dissapointing need to listen to songs like this.

It isn't as good as funeral

    But no album is.

  • I hate to piss on people's picnics but Arcade Fire are overrated!

  • @maximillioncky then don't piss on our picnics. Go appreciate what you deem adequately rated and we'll enjoy this on our own. I like this picnic.

  • @maximillioncky Your mom is overrated!

  • Your mom is overrated!

  • DOES MUSIC GET ANY BETTER??

  • @kaftoskaitsiou

I seriously doubt it! unless its another arcade fire tune!

  • mix of war, religion, pilitics an anger an frustration combined well....they never seem to amazed me.

  • @stillwhising91

uhhhhh....... sorry to hear they never SEEM to amaze you.

They never cease to amaze ME!

  • it's such a shame to see how an epic song as intervention is so underrated.

  • what a beautifully depressing song

  • epic, really epic, brilliant song wud be great for an advertisement

  • @Choomanama ad, yeah: the pinnacle of any artistic endeavour. this generation...

  • Neon Bible is my all-time favourite album, nothing will ever, and I mean EVER surpass it.

  • @arcadefire4life suck their dicks then

  • neon bible is one of the most underrated albums of all time. Arcade Fire are easily one of the best bands of all time.

  • you can get the organless version off limewire, which is annoying because that's the only version you can get off there and i LOVE the organ in it.

  • @clickynikki666 If you want the version with the organ, then instead of stealing the song from the band, by downloading it illegally off Limewire, go out and buy the whole album! You won't regret, trust me ;)

  • does anyone know where the version without the organs is available for listening?

  • Incredible is an understatement.

  • i love this song but i wish i knew exactly what the meaning is behind it!

  • i just started to listen to this band.. i really enjoy their music.. A LOT !!!

  • edwin butler is from texas, there not all of canada.

  • for all of you dissing this song and not liking it, it was played at the memorial ceremony for a dear friend who used to work as a correspondent for swedish government in brussels. this was his number one favorite song of all time. he used it when he biked all the time

  • no offense, but that doesnt mean we have to like it.

i mean, the songs brilliant, but obviously alot of people wont like it. i like it that way, helps you think you've found a gem, which you have.

  • I didn't mean it in the sense that you had to like because of my friend.

there will never be a song that everyone likes.

  • @nater308 Kind of a dark, depressing choice.

  • well, it he biked a lot for exercise and fun. It was the most played song on his iPod.

I guess it was the way the music flows and the power that it has

  • Amazing amazing amazing. One of my all time favorite bands.

    And they're from Montreal!!

The amazing thing about the Neon Bible album is that they recorded some of their songs in the St-James Anglican Church in Bedford, Québec, and in the Église St-Jean Baptiste in Montréal, by borrowing their organ.

  • i liked it, and sychozis, you cant really take anything jim morrison said to heart, he was so baked that he thought he was the spirit of an indian chief he saw die when he was a kid.

  • what? do you base that on the film by oliver stone?

    fruitcake.

everything jim said made complete sense...

    ;)

  • no i based it on his press conference after he wandered the desert for 2 weeks high on acid the whole time and then declared

"I am the Lizard King, i can do anything!"

Yeah he was all there ;)

  • Was that George Stroumboulopoulos at the beginning who said, "and this is incredible."

  • yes, good ears

  • i thought it was zane lowe

  • What kind of name is that? And how the hell do you manage to tell its him?

  • You sure? Sounds very like Zane Lowe from Radio 1 in the UK

  • in the words of Jim Morrison "we live we Die, Death not Ends it Journey we more into the Nightmares in your Apocalypse" hey i improvised the end of that in the net cafe and i am soooo HIigghh!!! lol hons + guys...

  • "...and this is incredible."

    Well spoken.

  • Super kawałek

  • yes this and the stone roses...rockin'!

  • darkness on the edge of town

  • GLASGOW...GLASGOW..make us 1st.. reset the bone..??

  • maybe a reference to the riots in glascow after ww1.

  • I agree. Would loved to have seen them there..heard they wer brill!

  • this could be a soundtrack to any movie of any genre

  • 1 of my fav songs..so powerful and beautiful!! It uplifts me when I am down cos the music is full of emotion! :)

  • its like so much emotion goes into every chord of every instrument coming together to make a symphony of amazing music.each dedicated individual.live in an elevator, its unreal.this vid made me fall in love with them, its a shame they wont play oxygen again.they only played it once!!

  • Anyone else sense a correlation between the line working for the church while your family dies to the book The Poisonwood Bible?

  • whats it 'bout?

  • listen to it , its about a solider going into war i think

  • What a great song. I love this band

  • very powerful!

  • i heard this song about 15 month ago , i asked my workmate , who sings this i like this and he said arcade fire, i said who!! ive never heard of them, i cant understand why , they are great ..........

  • Amazing group. I have enjoyed all their videos. Have got to get their cd's. Never heard of this group before but would rate this up there with greats.

  • One of the best songs of my life. No questions asked.

  • I love the song and all their music, and i'm really not that religious at all and a lot of people here seem to be religious. But i can still enjoy their music, as music :)

  • Don't worry, its not a "religious" song.

  • If anything, it's got some rather anti-religious sentiment in it: "Working for the church while your life falls apart / Singing Hallelujah with the fear in your heart / Every spark of friendship and love will die without a home / Hear the soldier groan 'we'll go at it alone'"

Doesn't that sound rather anti-religious to anyone else?

  • I don't think it's anti-religious per se. The way I see it, it condemns our use of religion today in ways that corrupt people or that destroy lives. Like the crusades, the Inquisition, the EXTREME Jihad (people have distorted it in a way that means 'kill people' now), politicians, etc. I suppose there IS a sense of extreme fear of and devotion to God/Deities in the song. So 'Intervention' could also decry the extremes in which we place ourselves, rather than religion itself.

  • Actually the whole album is rather religious. Hence Neon Bible.

Most of the songs are about how corrupt the world is today and how it is hopeless. (Black Mirror). The lyrics are rather depressing, but they are great and with the music it make an amazing album.

You should watch the documentary on Neon Bible its quite good.

  • His voice reminds me of Echo and the bunnymen. Amazing band. That girl on the left has endless energy. I watched them on Pbs last night and she was playing the drums, keyboards, singing. Fascinating to watch. Such talent.

  • fleshtones, undertones, devo , echo and the bunnymen ,,,

a lot of new wave bands,, the thing is they just make concert for anglos in montreal, and i think they hate quebecer and french scene as well

  • will some1 please tell me why this song never like got number 1 n any charts n da world, u never hear this song on a radio or music channels, did they even release as a single like all da other bands n da world, i'm just totally puzzled, its an unbelieveable song!!!

  • bc theyre not looking for conformists

  • Indie Music is not for everyone As for radio and music channels, I would hope you'd understand by now that they play only music that mainstream which could also make a lot of profit. Indie music generally does not make enough mainstream money, at times it the music could be too complex for listeners, and in my opinion i also think many listeners have now 'lowered' the bar in what is considered 'good' music which is why bands like this get ignored and replaced with pathetic band like falloutboy

  • got it in 1 mate

  • I love you. lol

  • Awesome!

  • boyshawboy!!! (aka: EXPLANATION MARK or OH MY G_D!!) beautiful u_u

  • This song is so powerful, I just feel absolutely drowned by guilt and rage and it's somehow so blissful, it's absolutely amazing.

  • Go fuck yourself.

  • Absolute quality.

  • To bad there will never be total peace on earth.

  • this song is just amazing...

  • Indie Power baby!

  • The king's taken back the throne The useless seed is sown When they say they're cutting off the phone I'll tell 'em you're not home No place to hide You were fighting as a soldier on their side You're still a soldier in your mind Though nothing's on the line You say it's money that we need As if we're only mouths to feed I know no matter what you say There are some debts you'll never pay
  • great lyrics, love this song

  • great music ! powerful and humanist... Peace on earth!

  • What a amazing song... so many crap in our days... thank you to make music alive again...

  • I am absolutely shocked and devastated to read such horrendous comments on race, or Canadians. Seriously, why are Canadians and Americans fighting over youtube comments!? It's incredulously ridiculous! To criticize other people, separated merely by land, is not only immature but also proves that some people have yet to evolve from their primitive minds. Canadians and Americans both breathe, eat, bitch and love. Is there really any reason to blasted with such wretched comments? On YOUTUBE!?

  • i agree with you!

by the way Arcade Fire is the best band for me

  • @omgcandy hear hear - but the rest of the world too -

I am in UK - love American music (and I note Canadians' disproportionately huge contribution )

seeing Arcade Fire this Thursday - I feel sorry for those who have not heard them yet...I have seen over 500 bands in my life, from Clash, Pistols, Bowie, Marley, Stones, Talking Heads, the big to the small... these guys are way up there...

  • This is just music @ its best..........Tops marks ,Arcade Fire

  • i heard that thay went all around canada to find the perfect organ and it is north of van cover in a small fishing town

  • Awesome!!! Like the 2nd coming of the Moody Blues!!

  • Spot on.

  • love it love it love it

  • Besides My Body Is A Cage this is one of the best on the album....

What the fuck am I saying!

    The whole album is incredible.

  • this is incredible! who woulda thought a song with organs could be so cool!

  • never heard such a full rich sound on record or live as AF! Great messages.;

  • AMAZING!!I can't quit listening to this song!!

  • That organ sounds like the Philadelphia Convention Hall Moller... I think that's the first time I've ever heard a real *pipe* organ in a contemparary piece. Awesome song anyway! :)

  • Fucken love this song so much! Awesome.

  • Great song...it builds and builds and goes over the top in the final chorus. Awesome

  • This song sounds like it could be about either communism or organized religion...Any help as to which one?

Love the organ, the tune, the everything...wow

  • it's definitely about religion (I believe much of the Neon Bible album is about the role organized religion plays in contemporary culture)

  • Thanks! I was guessing that...It's such an amazing song, but I guess that video about the communists and stuff(the B&W video on the side bar) kinda tripped me up..:P

Thanks again! Makes more sense now!

  • they have a ginger in there band but hey they still shit on everyone else

  • Love them!

  • i seen these guys live very good

  • que gran cancion.hacia rato que no escuchaba algo que me emocionara.ojala alguna vez vengan a la argentina asi mi esposa y yo nos emocinamos juntos.gran cancion, gran banda.

  • Its a very good song I have to admit, although the pipe organ really gives it the edge. I wonder without that although it is a very very good song..

  • wicked band, up there with the best.

  • I love this song. Good lyrics and real feeling. Not like most of the drek pop music and sugary lyrics you hear everywhere these days.

  • I am an old rocker and did a lot of work at concerts over 20 years and often backstage with what are now considered the top classic rock bands including U2. This band is the first to inspire me in a big way for a long time. Finally, something that again makes my hair stand up on end with a thrill!

  • I know what you mean. They were the first band in the recent years to almost stop me in my tracks they're so good.

  • this song made me a fan too whith a great song and strong voices.

  • this song made me a fan

  • Simply Amazing and super-talented

  • Arcade Fire are only the best Band ever with the best Lyrics ever. On this topic, opinions don't count.

  • I heard that this song is a refrence to Bush and the war. It makes a lot of sence if u listen to the lyrics. "Workn for the church" Bush 'claims' to be a good christian "while your family dies" America is thhe 'family'.

  • this is absolutely the best shit i have heard in the last 5 years hands down!

  • I can't believe any of you are talking shit about these guys. They are the best band in all genres in the last five years.

you who talk shit have 0 taste in music.

  • I agree with you, Baia1969...

I haven't listened to anything good these days

with an exception of this band.

    i absolutely love this band!

  • umm??whats this in reference to??"gang of wankers english pricks"???quote"Nedphillips? just a hint,,,they are from Quebec,,and from Montreal..and are not british..just a hint

  • Retards like Ned are not representative of Ireland as a whole. His kind enjoy living in the past and spouting meaningless rhetoric.

  • Ive just wrote them down

  • google them, idiot. "arcade fire intervention lyrics".

    google will tell you this.

  • i hear arcade fire is doing the soundtrack for the next richard kelly movie

  • its not true...check out there webby

  • well it would have been a good addition to the movie

  • Arcade Fire is the shit! they make my world better with their music. People interperit this shit too much, stop being idiots and apprecitate the Fire's raw ass music. By the way all religions are stupid

  • Exactly. It's music, man. And damn fine music at that. Don't ruin it by attaching some sort of subtext to it.

  • yes, but Arcade Fire intends for the subtext.

  • hey lawyer man i just wanna say that newport beach sucks ass. lol, and who do you think you are? sandy cohen from the o.c. with your 7 series? typical orange county attitude. i was ready to go to pepperdine law school. then i realized i didnt wanna end up a shallow, unhappy character such as yourself. i know alot of people like you, and theyre all depressed as can be. why dont you sell your car, leave your job, move to hermosa beach, buy a surfboard, some beer, and stop being an asshole?

  • Yeah well she has a way fucking cooler job than yours.

  • The job comment is for Lawyer1973 who keeps dissing an awesome band.

  • It is a song attacking Evangelicals, the narrow-minded fundamentalist Christian society that wrongly has too much influence in today's world.

  • maybe they're talking about the church of scientology...unlikely but it fits some of the lyrics

  • CLAS SONG!:):):)

  • class typing

    lol

  • just listen to the music for fucks sake. youtube has become more of a political forum rather than just a website to watch videos on; every video has some comments either supporting the war and iraq or hating it, just shut the fuck up, and let the Arcade Fire do the singing.

  • please don't bring the war into this. music is music, and politics are politics. it is a sad day when u mix them. Great song

  • very strange and blinkered attitude my friend. everything is connected no matter how hard you pretend they are not.

  • que potencia.

  • a lot of them play the keyboard

  • At first listen, this sounds a lot like it's attacking Bush and the Iraq war and the army of Evangelicals responsible for a lot of the shit we're in...

But stuff like this can apply anywhere... I'm in Thailand for five months studying abroad and the system here makes ours look like a joy... I've never seen people bind their freedoms of speech and thought so completely. It's horrible, and thus my comment about Bangkok.

  • idiot

  • It's Zane Lowe from UK Radio 1

  • why would people acknowledge pathetic scum like the kid "lawyer1973"? let her be shallow and ugly. i feel bad for her really......so ignorant.

  • you're a piece of shit

  • Whoa...your a dick mate

  • I wish I could BLAST this all over Bangkok...

  • ...why are you even here?

  • Now now no more foil talk. Let's sit back and enjoy the song, ok?

  • SUPER!!!

  • Was waiting for them til pink floyd!!!!

Le renouveau du rock, du vrai!

    Merci Arcade Fire,

Merci d'avoir fait revivre mes émotions d'adolescent. Et, à bientôt 40 ans, il faut le faire!!!!

  • One of the greatest bands of the 21st century without a doubt :)

  • ur a freak mate

  • Henrix, stop perving on you tube, with that 2 inch penis you have, you should travel the world, I think 1 of the Inca tribes like anal buttsex with small minds/ penises such as yourself, the Oxford dictionary is currently changing just to accomadating you and window lickers as yourself, please refrain on commentig on CLASS music while having skid marks on you pants. i rest my case champ
